Wonderful accommodations! The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is great! Also, the staff is accommodating, friendly, and eager to assist in any matters. Lastly, very clean establishment!
Very clean. Staff is awesone, very friendly and accommodating. Perfect location for park and shuttle for cruise. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend.
I got an extra $250 charge for room cleaning after a six night stay. Reason Cat litter and excessive debris. But they would not clean the room unless the cat was in his carrier. I can't justify leaving him in a carrier all day just for the room to be cleaned. So they cleaned one time when my husband could be home with the cat. Cleaning crew was afraid of the animal. This in a hotel I ONLY stay in because they are supposedly pet friendly. So after six days we had a lot of garbage and his disposable litter was on the floor in the bathroom. We were also out of toilet paper but I don't think they cared about that!
This location had dirty carpets in the hallway, it is not located close to anything, and they charge you in the end. Be ware!
The lobby is beautiful and welcoming. Much better than what I typically think a La Quinta Inn would be. I did not stay overnight so I can't comment on anything else.
Everything was very good the front desk people were very nice, the main light switch when you walk into my room 135 did not work. I had to prop the door open to go across the room 2 turn on a light. Nice selection of food for breakfast in the area was very pleasant.
This hotel is right across the bridge from downtown charleston and is near the road that leads to Folly beach. It is also located right next to the restaurant and bar, California Dreaming. (If you stop there, ask for the bartender/server Cassandra, she great!) As for the hotel there were a bunch of people in the lobby both times and the pool was pretty busy on a Monday afternoon but everything else was great. There is a water fountain specifically for refilling bottles in the lobby and coffee is always available. Another positive was that the car port was covered since it did pour one of the days.
This hotel had the rudest front desk person I've ever experienced and we have travelled all over the world and lived many years overseas. The front desk person (Michelle) working when we checked in on April 23rd was loud, argumentative, shouted that they make no guarantees that adjoining rooms will ever be provided, and said that because I booked the rooms requesting them to be adjoining through the La Quinta call center, that the hotel had no responsibility in that matter (which was untrue since I had called this very hotel to book the adjoining rooms weeks earlier). After driving over six hours to get to this hotel, this front desk person then made us wait FIVE MORE HOURS to get any second room at all -- if you can afford it, pass this place by.
The employees of this location appear to be genuine on this surface, but could care less about the hotel or its guests. Key card used for room entrance had to be reprogrammed the first night of staying. The bathroom door did not latch shut. There was a large bubble of water in the ceiling of the bathroom. Attempted to have a plumbing issue resolved and was ignored by the staff until I refused to leave the front desk without the issue being resolved. When checking out I requested to speak with a manager regarding my many inconveniences, only to be told by guest service that they were not sure if a manager was on duty that day. Now I am looking at two pending charges for my stay, plus an additional charge for a night I was suppose to be refunded. This hotel only got one star because you cannot give a review without rating.
On this, our third stay, I think this hotel is going downhill. It's still a good value, but if they don't reverse the downhill trajectory soon, the savings and location won't be enough. Cleanliness needs improvement. Plumbing needs improvement.
From the moment we arrived we knew we chose wisely! Polite employees, clean throughout and smells incredible, beautiful decor, terrific amenities. Gourmet breakfast, wine and cheese in the evening, port wine and fresh cookies at nite! Love the location and surroundings. Could not have asked for a better place to stay our first time to Charleston.
We had two adults and two children in a junior suite and we never felt cramped. The rooms were very clean and I couldn't hear any noise from other guests. There was the occasional siren from the street, but it didn't bother me at all.
The bed and the sleeper sofa were both very comfortable. There is a TV for each room, but we didn't watch anything. We did enjoy the complimentary coffee and tea.
I think my favorite part of the hotel was the excellent breakfast they had each morning. I have to say that it was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had, and the fact that it opens at 7am meant we could get an early start on our day.
