This is the absolute worst hospital emergency department i have ever encountered in my entire life. If you truly have a death wish they go here other wise do not even think about this hospital. This place should be shut down. My mother came in by ambulance, waited over 7 hours to be seen by the most arrogant, prick physician I have ever met in my entire life. He apparently got his MD from a cracker jack box. They then sent her home with pain scripts after 10pm, knowing no pharmacy was open. There is much more to it than just this. I just want to protect the Villages population and would love nothing more than this hospital to get what it deserves. The only reason it has a one star, is because I have to select one in order to post it, other wise it would be negative infinity. I work in healthcare, and I am just looking out for those who would like decent care. I would not let my dog touch foot in this place, let alone any human being.

The absolute worse hospital I have ever had to visit. The only reason for one star is many of the nurses and aides were nice and trying to do their best. One can tell that the nurse/patient ratio is substandard. Family member has laid in bed 4 days while no one can figure out what to do and then decide she needs a trauma center - then come to find out during this whole time no one has even attempted to give her even a basic sponge bath. It has now been over 36 hours since transfer decision was made and yet we still wait

The rudest least compassionate nursing staff. Previous night before visit to ED I participated in an Native American Sacred Drum Circle. Has some breathing issues and went to lie down in my tent as we were camping also. The next morning was worse and went to ED. While there I was blatantly made fun of many times. Nurse was named Betty, older ,dark hair. Not one good thing came out of her mouth about anyone. Even now know the background of a patient rooms down from me because she continually told anyone who would listen.25 yr old female, ketomine overdose, she was crazy and probably had black feet like me because she attended a party the night before. Also, on my arrival I told her I get serious bouts of insomnia. Many years between sometimes. I get more hyper the more I don't sleep.Sweet Betty proceeded to tell me " it's probably because of something I had taken' mixed with my meds. When she returned to the desk still Sweet Betty told all around I would test positive for illegal drugs.I DID NOT! SAY NO TO BETTY AND DRUGS?

    PS,
Did I tell you my pillow was given to me by a super nice young lady in housekeeping? Same for blanket but different young lady. On the way out, I invited her to the Sacred Drum Circle and mentioned it might induce maybe a tad bit more compassion in her.

I'm being generous giving this "hospital" a full star. This "hospital" is the worst in a state known for poor medical. I arrived via ambulance, was barely examed by a NP, who obviously lacked education and common sense. The staff were extremely condesending, rude, and lazy. There is a serious lacked of coordination and communication among staff in ER. I was discharged, without treatment. Thankfully, I know my body and knew I was extremely ill. Had I not been taken to another hospital, I was told I would have died. Listen to your body and your inner voice. You know your body better than these substandard people who should not be working in health care. (The objective word CARE)
The state of Florida needs to investigate this hospital.

I can't believe all the negative reviews. My mother broke her hip when visiting the villages. I read the reviews and I was horrified!!!! I flew down the next day and went to the hospital, I have to say I was thankful the reviews were wrong. I am thankful for the nurses on the third floor..JOANN, JUDY, MEGAN AND BERNADETTECAROL who cleans was terrificSo thanks so much to all and can't forget Dr. Sullivan. Trish

3.5 hours in the emergency room, they asked me for a pain level and I told them 8 out of 10, after 3.5 hours no doctor, nothing for the pain, not one look at my hand which has gangrene on the thumb and forefinger tips. I found out I still had hours to wait for an emergency bed and couldn't see the Dr. or get a pain med until I did. So much for the Hippocratic oaththey were doing damage. Then when I told them I was leaving they made my wife sign the leaving against medical advice formI got no medical advice whatsoever, I never saw a doctor I saw a PA who ordered the wrong tests and had never heard of my clotting condition. I will go elsewhere from now on rather than this quagmire of inefficiency.

If I could give this place a lower rating I could. They're absolutely terrible. Some of the staff is nice, and they're legitimately doing their best work. Watched as basic routine things were missed, things done out of sheer laziness/not listening, the lack of empathy and concern for many patients, and refusal to answer any questions regarding things that were supposed to be taken care of. I've been to several hospitals (not being a patient but visiting) and this is by far the worst I've ever seen. Building looks nice; but that's just for show.

I have never experienced anything like i did at this hospital. Don't go there. Drive to another hospital for care. My baby was bitten by a dog and I waited about 2-3 hours before we demanded a doctor and there were barely any other patients there. We also had to demand an anti biotic for my baby. The next morning, he was beyond infected and we rushed him to Orlando Childrens. They just admitted our baby. Thai hospital is nothing but malpractice

October 2016 went in for spine surgery. The nurses were very attentive. Came quickly when I rang my buzzer. Great personalities. I nicknamed named it the Hilton Hospital. Room was beautiful. The bathroom HUGE!!! It's the only hospital for me!!!!

How can someone be in an emergency room and wait 6 hours and still not seen a doctor. Upon being seen by triage staff, was told it could possibly be a heartattack. 6 hours and waiting, hopefully not a heartattack.

    Don't come here!

Went there with my daughter 2 years ago. Had wrong person on her ID bracelet. My former husband is there now. On 6/14/2017 His nurse called about his IV monitor or whatever. They said he is being discharged. I said, NOT. Turns out wrong patient. Called in the morning of 6/15/2017. Talked to his nurse on duty. Told me he was doing so much better, sitting in a chair. My hopes where high. Got there around 3 pm. Saw him he was still hallucinating, had a bed alarm on. So I went and found her. She said after we spoke I and I looked it up. OH FREAK. I had the wrong patient. This hospital is the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Efficient and friendly care. Emergency room can have a long wait but the urgent care across the hall might be a better place to start if you are not brought in by ambulance

A good friend of mine was admitted near death due to an unknown infection. His kidneys had shut down and he was incoherent. The doctors worked tirelessly to discover the cause and then treat it. The staff performing dialysis were very caring and kind. The Physical therapist was very concerned and strived to get him back on his feet. All in all they were wonderful. They literally saved his life.

I have never in my life had an experience as bad as this ER. I won't go into all the details, but basically I came in with my 6 year old and we are from Tennessee. No one was there to check us in. The staff was so irritated that we needed help. There were only two other patients there! My daughter was in horrible pain, and while I was trying to deal with her throwing up, there we 3 people shooting heroine right beside my daughter! And the security guardwho did nothing.

Triage asked NOTHING about my daughters medical history. Nothing.

The whole experience was absolutely insane. We got the hell out and rushed to Ocala Regional which has been wonderful.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. BEYOND HORRIBLE.
