If I could give 0 stars I would . I came in last night with abdominal pain and blood coming out . First off when I finally got back it took 2 EMTs , 4 nurses , and a nurse practitioner to get an I.v. in because only one person and that was my nurse said she could run the ultrasound I.v . But she kept saying I got to do this and do that and never did it. So 14 needle pokes later they get one. Then my nurse said that she could hear what I was saying and thought I was talking about her . How about no I was talking to someone else on my phone . Then they find out I have pancreatitis and am positive for blood coming out of 3 different places in my body , I have now been up stairs for 5 hours , the doctor hasn't seen me nor has he returned any of my nurses calls. I had to go complain to the charge nurse and all I get is that I'll try to call. Nobody here seems to take their job seriously or seem to care about any of the patients here. If you can avoid this hospital do by all means , it's nothing but a nightmare here .

My fiancee had the worst birthing experience out of all her pregnancy. Between gossiping of the nurses, rudeness and treating her differently due to an issue from 4yrs ago that didnt involve the health or wellness of our child. Stopping our baby from being discharged due to an error by their staff, making false allegations and misquoting what they where told. Baby was completely stable and was feeding very well with no issues hindering her discharge medically other then them wanting to get involved in making our family upset because of notes put in there system by a member of their staff misrepresenting what my fiancee had told them. Then threatening our family with dcf. They even went as far as hindering the mother's wishes to breastfeed her child and feed on demand instead of going by their feeding plan. Until we pitched a fit about it. Which she is allowed to do as she wishes.
They even went as far as threatening to sick security on her because she wanted to walk around instead of laying in bed. Then telling her if she decided to leave her room they would AMA her for it. When all she wanted was to get out of bed and be proactive. I have never seen a hospital treat any mother like this.
It is also the first time as a father i have witnessed any medical staff not have compassion for the mother's mental wellbeing as well. The things that were said to her were completely disgusting and inappropriate to be saying to a mother who was clearly depressed.
No one should ever have to get the police involved to have their baby released from the hospital. We were only given the option to AMA our daughter. Then threatened with dcf. Even after we requested her care to be transferred to another facility because of our concerns.
If given the chance to do the pregnancy all other again I would have taken her to another facility. We should have read the reviews before coming to this hospital.response / report this review -

I don't even like stepping foot in this hospital, the way they treat sick elderly people is horrible. My grandfather was brought there for something simple and they cut his leg off with out permission and it caused his health to decline fast on top of the fact that he was a diabetic and the nurses hadn't gave him water all day, he was dying of thirst. And the care there is horrid, the nurses barely cleaned his wound, they wouldn't even let my grandmother look at his wounds which she had every right too. This hospital is despicable.

Horrid place with poor cleaning. Most of the doctors are trash and do not complete preliminary simple tests which would SOLVE the issues that patients may be having. Thank goodness for the some of the nurses that actually try to help their patients here. If I could give negative stars for this place I would. Go here and consider yourself a dead man walking.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I found out I needed elective surgery. I met with the surgeon and received his fees. I called Monroe Hospital for out patient fees that was $300 fee with my insurance. I then asked for what the anesthesiologists fee would be. They said they can't answer that because while you have to use their anesthesiologists they don't control there prices. After much wrangling I found out they use a company called MedStream. I had to call MedStream and it seems one women handles all of there pricing (Pam) Now Pam was clearly tick off that I would even ask about pricing but in a very belligerent voice answered $1750 - $2000. I am a believer in due diligence. I'm also a believer in not handing someone your credit card and saying just let me know later what it costs. Monroe Hospital by there very policy encourages this. Hey Monroe how about FULL Disclosure on elective surgeries. We as informed customers deserve better. I know how about priding yourself on Printed upfront costs as an outpatient service.

Would you like your personal medical records given to other patient's? Then go to MRMC! They are great at violating HIPPAA. On more than one occasion we have received other people's medical records and highly sensitive information. Administration is rude and unhelpful. Every experience we have ever had at this hospital has been atrocious and we will never entrust our medical needs to this poorly run facility ever again. The only thing they have going for them is their food. Thank god for chick-fil-a and boar's head.

parking reserved for surgery patients not enforced and is a disaster. Information system terrible requiring answering same question multiple times. Pharmacy is totally unprepared to care for patients. I was on 3 BP meds and in 3 days never got 1 med. got a substitute one dose and the 3d med arrived 9 hours late on my last day. My wife brought meds the last day. There is more but this is a start.

I went there only out of desperation because I got sick due to Hurricane Irma and did not want to be hospitalized. I was asked if I was a smoker and I said I had been. No tests were performed and Was given only 3 prescriptions that only put a dent on my illness. 2 weeks later I returned to only get chastised for my Medicaid share of cost not opened Then told by triage nurse to contact a state representative. I was going to be turned away but from being so upset from their nastiness I started having chest pains. That's when they thought I was faking. When the er nurse started to hook me up to a heart monitor so hard, he bruised my chest. Payback I guess because as I was fighting for my life, he took it as I was being rude. They eventually had to admit me but only under observation, to prove I was so sick. During that time I had so much anxiety that I felt less than a human. No meds for anxiety was given even though I asked and was one of my regular meds at home. While there I saw that the patients that had better insurance than me, be treated with wonderful care. The staff would gossip about me to other patients and give me very little care. I was in the middle of a panic attack and no one would help. I am not writing this for a pity party. Not everyone who is poor is garbage. I just happened to get a life threatening disease no fault of my own, and has put me in financial hardship. I have to rely on medical care from the state and county or I will die. If someone ever talks about their life and it's hardships. the worse thing to do is judge. Not everyone has a clear cut way out of their burdens. What might be easy to you, may be harder than some. Not everyone is given opportunities, or can create them when sick. Please be kind! Anyway I stood up after being judge was moved to another room, and discharged with prescriptions I can't fill. I spoke to social services and all she gave me was drug discount card with a good luck. A phone from the hospital to Medicaid would have helped me immensely, but I wasn't even worth a phone call.

Absolutely horrible..everytime my grandma has to go in their the care,and cleanliness of the staff is absolutely horrendous!!..their is things such as people be rough with what they do,they lie about stuff then when you confront them it's a different story.she uses a walk at home gets around just fine,there they want to confirm her to a bed and use a potty chair repeatedly before they clean it!!! This is not gonna stop!!no one wants to do anything when you complain but when you file paper work it only changes for a little bit.i can get better care from a first aid kit and info from a walmart pharmacist..

Brought my mom in to emergency room on Saturday about 6pm. The service and care my mom received was wonderful. The doctor on duty was very courteous, caring and a wonderful bed side manner. I was concerned when I read some of the negative reviews but thankfully we had a positive experience. The staff on duty were all very courteous and caring and respectful. Thank you all for helping my mom.

What a place of pleasure the Staff is incredible I left the Villages Regional Hospital because of abuse and just not good. This place has all the new High Tech equipment for quick diagnosis. Helps doctors a great deal less guess work. But DOCTOR'S I see are so good. Probably do not need it. But was sent up to Neuro unit a beautiful section. With top notch staff attending to every need. Shout out to Kristen RN NEURO SIMPLY PERFECT. LOVE THIS PLACE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. IF I HAVE TO. AWESOME. FEEL TOTALLY COMFORTABLE GOING HERE FOR LOVE ONES AND YOUR SELF.

Going into the facility everyone was very nice but when I asked for help upon leaving God forbid. Most of the staff aren't the sharpest knives. The nurse practitioner was practically shouting in the room when my child was trying to rest from a stressful evening. The janitor there was standing in front of my kids door reading a paper and the security are more concerned with chit chat then offering assistance. I'm going to try everything I can to never go back to this facility. Be wary.

I have to say this is the worst pediatric care ever received. My children felt under comfortable. PATRICIA opens the doors to take my son back. She looks pilled out her mind she stood in the door way with her eyes shut!! So the lady at the front informs her there's 3 kids needed to be seen the look on her face!! Then turns around to SCOTT he gave the nastiest look like it was a problem there was more then 1 child. Just attitude the whole time taking the kids vitals I couldn't believe it. I'm from South Florida using Joe DiMaggio. Almost scared to go back there to think I live here now and this is the hospital for kids!! I do have to say DR. ROGER'S was awesome. He told me to text him if I have any questions just to avoid another ER visit if we could.

My mom had back surgery here April 2017 she and the entire family are very disappointed with the staff shortage. The staff are friendly and helpful however individually over booked with patients.
The cafeteria closes at 2 p.m. and they do not care if family members eat dinner or not.
They do not offer a refreshments room for ice, tea, coffee or cold water for a family member that is helping with their patients recovery.
It appears they are operating on a shoestring budget.
Hopefully this is the last hospital stay for either one of my parents, however if they need further hospitalization we will do our best to go to The Villages Hospital.
My mom's stay at The Villages Hospital was a pleasure for her and her family members. A great bunch of folks work there and the patient to staff ratio is very good.response / report this review
