With regards to billing: On telephone registration we were notified by the caller that we would be given a substantial discount by prepaying for my wife's (cancer patient) procedure. We gladly prepaid. Subsequent to that we noted that our insurance company claims report showed the full amount of bill and we subsequently started getting bills from the hospital. A request for a copy of a statement from their Texas billing company was useless and then we got a call from some collection agency. This is one of the reasons the health system is so screwed up. You wonder why big beautiful hospitals are popping up everywhere. Cause they can't make any money? Right. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Had to go to the ER yesterday after cutting my thumb at work, I arrived and they were somewhat busy. I followed the instructions to register myself. Within a few minutes a young lady Yolanda (very awesome and pleasant) took all my vitals and rewrapped my thumb and had me wait for the doctors which did not take too long and those 4 were awesome and pleasant also. Then I waited again to get my stitches was called in the back by Kelly another awesome and pleasant nurse. Then Amy the one who stitched me back together awesome and pleasant too. My whole experience was totally pleasant and great. The staff in the ER that day were super caring. Thank you

After a car accident, I spent quite a bit of time here. I underwent two surgeries, a craniotomy and reconstructive scalp surgery, about 11 days in ICU, and 6 days in a regular room. I also had to come back for multiple tests for follow-ups. Most of the nurses were very well trained and kind. We did have an issue with one nurse and they took care of our problem and did not have her continue caring for me. I'm so thankful for the trauma team and all they did for me after my accident. Most of the doctors are very patient and kind. The drivers outside are also amazing, we especially got to know Rowland and just loved him! He is very kind and knows just what to say to give a tremendous amount of encouragement. I am extremely thankful for everyone and cannot express my gratitude enough.

While playing softball, I sprained my ankle. It swelled up a lot, but I could walk on it. Just to be safe, I went to the local Ocala Regional Medical Ctr Emergency in Summerfield. They took an two X-Rays and then I saw a PA or someone who told me that it wasn't broken and to Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevate my ankle for several days. I paid $120 when I left and thought that was it. Within a couple weeks, I received a bill for $1,131 minus the $120 that I had already paid! I called their main office and was told that they billed $3,570 to my insurance company for an ankle sprain!!! I drove myself to the facility and back home, no ambulance, no overnight stay, nothing. My insurance refused to pay and said the amount should be $1,131, all of which I am responsible for paying. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS IT'S ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL, LIFE AND DEATH. I'll never go to them again. I spoke to my primary physician who said that had I gone to him, the total would have been a few hundred dollars vs THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY DOLLARS.

This is the worse hospital Ever my brother who is deaf has been going there for months with diverticulitis attacks and all they did was give him antibiotics and sent him home once in a while they would keep him. This past Sunday September 24th he was sent home on Monday he went to Florida General to only find out that he has puss coming out of both sides of intestines and his organs have grown together the 2 intestines the kidney Bladder and colon have grown together and has to have EMERGENCY SURGERY to cut apart all his organs have have a catheter and possible a colonoscopy bag so I warn any Kissimmee Resident if you want to live do not go to the hospital for any health issues whatsoever. When I arrive in Florida from the West Coast I will be calling the local news media to bring attention to the bad behavior and contacting the Director of the hospital and have called Medicare and Medicade to file complaint and ask for the payments to be stop and I will seek other actions and if possible will do what I can to put this hospital out of business I can not imagine how many ppl they have let die if they can send my brother home this way Sunday September 24th my brother is a mess and being Deaf I will have the Deaf society there also along with the media Ocala will not get away with almost killing my Brother. I am sure Ocala Hospital has no problem cashing the checks they receive from Medicare and Medicade when they have done nothing to deserve payment. I give them a big fat zero rating. How dare they treat ppl in this manner there is no reason other then incompetent Doctor's and Nurses who just do not care and remind you my brother being Deaf we use the IMO app just like you would use FaceTime and I spoke to every Dr and nurse he seen when he went and I was assured he would be treated the very best to only get a call that he was sent home and on July 8 th he was there for 2 herniated discs and a pinched nerve and the diverticulitis and I had to argue with the nurse not to give him morphine he is allergic and they were given it to him anyway I never in my life had to disrespect a nurse the way I disrespect this nurse and it broke my heart to do it but when my brother who is 52 years old and is calling me with tears rolling down his face I had no choice, why ask what he is allergic to when you give him medication that he is allergic to. Please I ask all Kissimmee Residents do not go to this hospital and I will be call the Board of Health hospital room my brother was in was filthy compared to Florida General hospital. Action needs to be taken against this hospital so they stop treating the Residents in Kissimmee Florida in this unprofessional manner this is unacceptable and I just pray to God my brother does not suffer anymore due to the careless behavior and hope this Emergency surgery that he has to have today September 28th turns out well which the surgeon assured me but like he said I have to go inside and look at his organs he has not had a bowel movement in weeks and Ocala Regional accepts that from a patient saying this and begging for help. Ocala Regional will see and feel my Raft once I know my Brother is out of the woods and on his way to recovery and if I have to go all the way to the White House I have no problem doing that either. Ocala will see how a Real New Yorker takes care of business I might live on the West Coast now. The saying goes you can take the girl out of New York but you can not take the New Yorker out of the girl and Ocala Regional will see what I mean and in NOWAY am I looking for any money this is not about getting money or suing this is about saving people's lives and caring they say if it's to hot get out of the kitchen and to every nurse and Doctor if you are not there to taken care of very sick patients then find another career cause you are killing people.

Recently my mother was admitted to Ocala Regional because the ER doctor thought she had a TIA (which is probably true). They did a battery of neurological and cardiac tests on her and all came back negative. She did have weakness in her right leg and still does, hence the TIA diagnosis. A doctor she saw in the first couple of days told her she needed to go to rehab to regain the strength in her leg. All during this time she received really good nursing care. On Sunday they did the last two cardiac tests and it took over 24 hours for one of the test to be read. Thank goodness the results weren't critical. On Monday the only medical personnel she saw were Physical Therapy staff & Nurses. Finally at 4:30 in the afternoon her nurse came in and told her the last test was negative and she was being released to home- no rehab. When she asked why the nurse told her that Medicare would not cover rehab if you could walk over 200 steps. I have had this checked out by a benefit specialist I know and this just isn't true. So now that she has been released, mom has been screwed out of Rehab. Finally, when our friend came to pick her up and take her home, one of the nurses told our friend that there were no volunteers to take her down to the car and to just go ahead and leave. Really? How irresponsible is that? Our friend asked to borrow a wheel chair and as he was leaving the floor another nurse asked them where they were going. They told her and she took it upon herself to escort mom to the car. Thank goodness someone knows their job. So I have given this review 3-stars for the good nursing and the care at the beginning of her stay and then the disappointing final 12 hours & the lack of rehab options.

I don't like the bedside manner of most of the staff. They have a terrible attitude when they are making a request towards the family. They don't know how to speak in a professional manner. Every single time I went to visit my family member there was someone who had an attitude with me, my husband and his sister. Horrible horrible they need some classes on how to treat people because the job is not just a pay check.

I'd like to shout out the entire staff in the oncology wing for saving my life in early 2013. In late December 2012, I was diagnosed with late stage 3 cancer. I was admitted to MRMC to have a chest port placed, then days later transferred here.

It was the beginning of a near 5 month stay as my condition initially, began to deteriorate rapidly to the point where i could not even walk, as fluid backed up in my legs and I was close to total organ failure. Thankfully, with the medical staff and guidance and specialists and chemo, they were able to get me on the path to recovery. In late April 2013, I was discharged and though I have health issues now I'll struggle with the rest of my life the cancer is still currently in remission.

I just figured in a world where so many jump to criticism and negativity, I wanted to acknowledge the amazing medical team that went above and beyond for me. I'll never forget it. Thank you.

Worst hospital I have ever been to. Boyfriend came to ER by ambulance and was admitted no doctors or nurses were helpful at all. Only one nurse tech was helpful and did way more then needed for her fellow co-workers. You ask for a pillow, water, medicine, nurse, laundry bag, and a nurse to get all glass out of arm You have to beg and beg and still nothing. Then you have to share a room with another patient and this patient is threatening to punch nurses ,screaming for water and obviously does not know where he is and there ignoring him and condoning his behavior.. it's ridiculous you don't even feel safe in your own room. And then 12:30 at night they want to tell me that I can't stay the night here with him. This place is a joke why wait till midnight to tell me that and then you expect me to leave him with a psycho in the bed next to him and nurses doing absolutely nothing. Surgeon was extremely nice but other then that you wonder how this place is still open.
