We had a wonderful stay here. The room was spacious. Staff are friendly from
Front desk to anyone you meet in the hotel. It’s definitely 5 stars + + +
As always, The Peninsula is beautifully appointed, beautifully run and beautifully located. Our room on the 16th floor was quiet and clean, very comfortable for a good night's sleep. We appreciate how each and ever person working here greets you with a smile and a pleasantry. They manage to maintain the appearance and amenities of the highest-end hotels while also being down-to-earth and friendly. The Peninsula will remain our top choice for our stays in Chicago.
We were there to eat at Shanghai Terrace. Very nice very elegant place. I loved the outdoor seating area. The food was exquisite. Very tasty. Seasoned right. Definitely will return.
I just remembered how nice this place is. A friend from college envied me for lunch. M Main lobby dining area is absolutely fantastic!!! It is everything you would expect, and more, from a Peninsula Hotel. Great wine choices are handpicked for the meal selections. My steak was truly phenomenal when surrounded by some of Chicago's best Steak Houses!! I highly recommend and will be back!!
The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago definitely exceeds more than a 5-star rating! The staff is amazing and they offer amazing customer service. The Hotel is beyond luxurious! Thank you for making my family feel welcomed the Week we spent in Chicago!!! It's right off the Magnificent Mile. Walking distance from all Chicago must see attractions!
Invited to lunch at the lobby restaurant of this 5-star luxury hotel. Food, service, venue - all impeccable. Vegans: the day I was there, they were able to do a roasted corn and mushroom risotto that was out of this world. And, then, they told me they had an assortment of vegan pastries available for desert. I could not believe it how accommodating they were. They also have an incredible rooftop bar/restaurant: Shanghai Terrace. This place isn't cheap, but if you're planning a special anniversary or something, it's incredible.
Attended an alumni event in the ballroom and patio. The bar was well appointed and the outdoor deck is lovely. The meal was delicious- salad with grilled peaches, fish and dessert Well I guess that wasnt memorable. Wine service was quite good as well. Very nice evening!
The service is impeccable. The waiter went out of his way to make sure we got a table outside on a busy Saturday. He had a sincere look of concern to get us seated which was heartwarming. I would recommend their restaurant to everyone.
We started with dinner at the Asian restaurant on the lower level. The decor was excellent and the food was even better. Our server walked us through the menu. The food was excellent. Next we had drinks at the bar. It had a very relaxed, very elegant vibe. Service, again, was great. After drinks we had desert at the chocolate bar. We ate over a dozen different chocolate deserts while listening to a live jazz band. Service went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we could want. They even charged my phone so that I could get a picture or two for my wife of our special night. I had a fantastic time.
We stopped at The Peninsula for dinner and dessert. We are at The Lobby, and then had dessert at the place (I forget the name) on the corner. Both were excellent! Dinner was good, but a bit pricey. I had the risotto with scallops. $18 to add two scallops was a bit much, but they were very good. We had desserts at the cafe on the corner. Very friendly staff and the desserts were amazing. My wife had the cheesecake, and I had the banana brownie. 10/10, would indulge again.
I visited The Lobby for Chocolate at the Pen, and it was a lovely and luxurious dessert experience. There was a selection of about 15 different types of desserts, another dozen or so types of candy, a full service hot chocolate bar, and 3 different types of chocolate martinis. Additionally, you can order coffee, espressos, and tea from the menu. The entire experience is $50 ($40 if you don't get a martini) and the service is attentive, polite, and courteous. There was also love music playing. This is a fantastic option for a date or for a decadent escape for a special occasion.
