Price is great for what you get. Hotel rooms aren't big but it's more than enough for a simple, affordable stay. Free breakfast is great for being free (waffles, eggs, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, etc). Personally loved the shower and the fact that our room had a desk that could pull out with a computer chair. Channels available are great for being free (USA, a movie channel, news, standard channels). Employees are friendly and willing to help. This hotel is in a great area, few minutes away from the magnificent mile (for a Chicagoan used to walking) and surrounded by some tasty restaurants and affordable eats. Would recommend.
Positive :
Very clean & colorful, clean sheets and linens, comfortable bed, hot coffee on the second floor, nice decor, friendly staff, good breakfast, nice breakfast area and ultra incredible location.
semi negative!!!! :
Small room (but everything I needed was there!) and small breakfast area as well.
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to pay reasonable for a great hotel and enjoy downtown Chicago.
My friends and I needed a cheap place to stay downtown Chicago and I couldn't have asked for a better place. The room was split in half so two of my friends got a TV and there own bed and I got my own TV and a bed. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and only 1 mile from cloud gate. It made our trip.
Attended the Cookies and Cheer event and was pleased with the bar and lobby area. Hotel staff was very pleasant and attentive. I'd definitely stay here as a guest if I needed a room downtown.
Rooms were clean and obviously recently updated. Decor was nice.
Our room was quite small, however - particularly, the bathroom. Our TV and refrigerator did not work - we reported to the desk but no one came. Discovered the power strip was unplugged behind the credenza - unfortunately, we had put beverages in the refrigerator expecting cold drinks when we returned to the room.
We asked for an adjustment on our bill and was told it would be reported to a supervisor. No adjustment was made.
Great location for walking to many places downtown. Hotel is modern and clean. Complimentary breakfast has lots of options. Our King bed corner room was nice but small. Parking is expensive but that seems to be the case everywhere downtown Chicago
I really like Marriott properties. This is a nice, no frills hotel with generously sized rooms. It could have been cleaned when I checked into my room, which clearly needed to be vacuumed. Also, when I was overloaded with luggage walking into the hotel, the valet and another employee-maybe the bellman?-were chatting and did not help me with the door or ask me if I needed assistance. So, three stars and won't stay at this particular property again.
Modern, clean and great staff. Great experience, no carpet which I loved. Our sink was a little slow draining and they were to our room in 5 minutes. Beautiful innovated room decor and good complimentary breakfast. Def will visit again. No pool but good exercise room and walking distance to lake fine dining and 24hr stores.
Beautiful rooms for a reasonable price. Located less than two blocks from the beloved Magnificent Mile, it's a great hotel in a great location. The service was as expected. We were deciding between two different rooms; the double full size, and the king suite with a sofa bed. The king only cost $20 more, and it was much more spacious than the double full, so if price isn't an issue for you, get the king. The only downside was the parking (what do you expect though? it's Chicago!) $58 for valet parking. That's a full day of work at Jimmy John's man (shoutout to all the Jimmy John's workers out there).
Great experience! Friendly staff, fairly new remodel that is fresh and clean. Rooms are not carpeted this felt so clean compared to a carpeted room. Reasonable rates, don't count on "concierge" service.
Nice hotel with convenient access to downtown. Staff was extremely friendly and the fitness center, while small, was versatile. Something to note if you're a light sleeper. You're next to a hotel and may hear ambulance sirens frequently throughout the day and night. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend.
Cheaper than other hotels in the area. Free and good breakfast. Rooms are very nice and clean.Staff are helpful and informative. Very great stay and would definitely return to this hotel our next trip back to Chicago. Overall I had no complaints about this hotel.
I was warmly welcomed into the hotel. Checking in and getting to my room was quick and easy. Room was clean and very spacious. Only complaint would be parking. The lot is a block away and has no security.
Excellent location within walking distance of everything on the Magnificent Mile! Great price. Standard Continental breakfast. Room had a cold mini-fridge. Comfortable beds. HOT shower! Rooms are a little small. The view out our window was of construction. Overall this was a perfect choice for our weekend in Chicago.
I was meeting a friend for dinner, when I stopped at the hotel to pick them up. We sat in the lobby area to catch up, before going to dinner. The hotel looked recently renovated. The decor was modern, and clean. The hotel staff were very friendly, and inviting. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel if I ever need somewhere to stay downtown Chicago.
