Fun! Eating a monastery burger was my stepping stone out of vegetarianism! They really helped save my life because I was suffering with chronic anemia until I took a bite of their sweet and juicy flame grilled made to order burgers (cause I cooked it myself). I dig up on the live bands fun place to burn the kcals with all the v-ball and do disco dancing! Ya bro!

Been a patron of this fine establishment for about 5 years now. The friendliness of the staff is as great as any establishment I've attended. Even if you aren't a regular, they treat you like family.
Food? They got just about anything you want and I have yet to be disappointed. No business is perfect, but the 2 or 3 times a mistake has been made in all my visits, they went above and beyond to make it right.
They also have 2 of the finest sand volleyball courts in the East Valley. Very well maintained and frequently filled with friendly pick up games. They also regularly host volleyball leagues that welcome all levels of players.
All around, I can't think of many places to go for the combination of service, food, and activities.response / report this review -

Wouldn't call this my kind of place, but it's good for a group. Lots going on like several volleyball courts and other games, live music or DJs, outdoor bar.
Seating is available inside or out. Servers are very nice and efficient. Love being able to pay with my credit card at an outside table on the server's tablet. No problem with splitting checks for large groups.
The only thing I've eaten here is wings and they are really good. When you ask for extra crispy, that's exactly what you get. You can also ask for them to be finished on the big outdoor grill.response / report this review -

This place is great! Out door volley ball, horse shoe, and other games. You can even buy meat and grill it yourself it you want to. There lots of out door tables or lawn chairs to hang out with friends and relax. There's areas you could get away and chat. So you can be away from the crowd.
Live music sometimes on the weekends.
Kids are slows until 8pm. Then it's adults only.
It's mainly outdoors with a small indoor bar area.response / report this review -

Seems better at night. Depending on the time, the service and quality varies. stick with the beer, you won't be disappointed not so much the mixed drinks. Food is generally good, but can be hit or miss. One consistent aspect - and its saving grace wings! Always good chicken wings at The Monistary. Outdoor activities, and kids allowed up to 8pm ish makes this a nice place to be at certain times of the year. Solid 3.5 out of 5.

This place is fun and super casual. They have in and outside. Live music and their food is pretty good. Just don't go on a summer afternoon in AZ and you'll love it.

Hosted a snow party dogs today. The staff was awesome!! Tiffany went out of her way to come in early and Cliff opened early. The Monastery has good food, great environment and is 🐕 friendly! If you want to have a get together I would recommend this place! Thanks again for for helping us have a great party!

We celebrated my daughter's birthday with the family here. It's very cool for a family as long as you're prepared to leave by the time the night crowd rolls in (families are required to leave by 8pm) and you avoid the men's room. We played sand volleyball, which was fun after we worked the sand over a lot. The food was decent party-type fare, but it was a bit pricey for the portions. Honestly, it was very memorable and the setting is fun, but the food was ok.

I came here for the first time 2 weeks ago. I was waited on by Amy and Terri. They are a great team. Amazing attitudes, cool personalities, and so professional! The drinks were bomb and the food was perfect! Come on down! I recommend this place to anyone!

I have been coming to this place for a few months and i need to recognize a few employees. Amy and Terri. They are and have been hands down, amazing. Their service is perfect. Their attitudes are so positive and it creates a great environment. I love it here!!!!!!

I have been in several times now and have had both Terri and Amy as bartenders. The service has been so amazing. The drinks are fair priced and the food is perfect. I love this place and i cant wait to return! I suggest this to families and party goers alike. 5 star service!

This place is AWFUL! My husband, two of his friends, and myself decided to grab some dinner on Friday 3/24. We knew it was going to be crowded so we grabbed a table in the bar area and only waited about 5 minutes until our waitress "Caleb" (Not sure if this was her real name or not) showed up, literally THREW the menus at us and said she would be back. She came back a little while later, got our drink and food orders. She had NO idea what she was doing. She brought our beers and that was the last we saw of her for almost forty-five minutes!! Finally my husband went looking for her and could not find her she then strolled in with a piece of cake in her hand. My husband inquired about our food and it was then that she told us the fish fry wasn't available. We then asked her why she waited forty-five minutes to let us know one of our orders wasn't going to come and she just shrugged her shoulders, said "You know we're really busy I have a birthday party of 40 people outside" and then proceeded to shove cake in her mouth. It was then that we asked to see the manager, "Caleb" rolled her eyes and went to get him. Things got even worse when the manager came over. He immediately blamed us for being upset and waved his hands around like we couldn't see the place was packed. One of my friends told him that the last time he was there the same girl was his waitress and she was garbage then as well. He then started to apologize as soon as we told him we would never be coming back to the Monastery and would make sure we told all our friends how terrible they had been to us. He offered us $5 off our drinks. We declined and asked for the check for our drinks. He brought the tablet over for us to pay and "Caleb" had charged us for 2 extra drinks we never even ordered! The idiot manager had to try four different times until my husband finally said "Look at our table! There are 4 of us here and we have only been served ONE drink. How many drinks do you see?" Then the manager finally figured it out. We finally left and made sure to tell patrons on the way out about the issues. We will NEVER step foot on this property again.

Sand between your toes and a beer in your handswhats better than that! This eclectic spot just south of falcon field is awesome for an afternoon cold one. The crowd is a little older but if you like that sort of thing great. Food is nothing special but the beer by the can is affordable. It does somethings great and others not so wellbut from November to April its perfect
