Went there this evening for a large family gathering (20 people). Never again. We entered the Lodge which is a very beautifuly restored 1940s establishment, at 340pm. We did not leave until after 630. Literally a three hour meal. There was zero service. The majority of our party received their food but three people waited an additional 30 minutes (including the only child who is 4) to receive their food. After 2 hours we requested the checks. Half of our party was paid and settled but the remaining group waited an additional 45 minutes to pay after a second request to please have our bills. If you prefer a three hour dining experience with only one beverage and chicken that later gives you a a chance to pray to your toilet look no further.

The BEST place for superb dining experience and pleasant surroundings, among one of Florida's natural settings. Love visiting this State Park!!

Went for breakfast and it was amazing! Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had! This is a must stop if you are looking to stay, play, or eat in a historic building filled with classic southern charm and super hospitable staff!

We were there overnight Friday and Saturday for a Saturday wedding. Very cozy, intimate, warm and friendly place. Food was delicious, service was great. Huge shout-outs to Tom, Brooke, Clayton, and Carlin who did everything in their power to make our stay as memorable as possible. Rooms are a little dated, but large and comfortable. All the staff went out of their way for us--just can't remember all the names. As the mother of the groom, it was a bit disappointing that the event planner for the wedding never even approached the bride or groom to make sure everything was running smoothly---seemed she was too busy talking to other prospective couples. That would be my only gripe!

Rooms are very nice and clean. The bed is very comfortable. We totally enjoyed our visit even though we were running from hurrican Irma. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant and found the best shrimp and grits in Florida. We highly recommend the Lodge and plan a return visit for relaxation soon.

Came for a day visit. The Lodge was out of power at the time (following Irma) and the front desk staff was extremely accommodating about it, providing what she could and giving out a nice long description of the trails and swimming area. The lodge itself is beautiful, tons of great detailing and beautiful, cozy furnishings. The only let down is the swimming area is a little small and keeps you away from the fun, wooded banks. That being said the diving platform is a ton of fun and the 69°F water is pretty thrilling or refreshing depending on your level of masochism.

Visiting some family for part of a day. I did not sleep in the rooms, but they seemed nice enough. We went on a boat tour and the volunteer tour guide was knowledgeable and quite funny. We swam near the spring. The water is cold but very nice on a hot day. The cafeteria leaves something to be desired. I would not recommend the chili dog

We were there June 27 and 28, 2017. We found that the setting was interesting and beautiful. The boat tour run by the parks service was well worth doing. The common areas of the facility were impressive and likely were much more so in days gone by. We met friends for drinks there in the lobby and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. The restaurant served good food - we had fried grouper both nights, which was delicious, but the servings were a bit skimpy for the price. The breakfast coupons were really nice, considering that the breakfasts were made to order and were quite good.
The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Clayton at the front desk. The state of maintenance was disappointing. When we first entered the building, we noticed that the front door - the first impression one has of a place - was dirty and sorely in need of a coat of fresh paint. At the very least the entrance should show that people there care about putting their best foot forward. Our room was another disappointment. It was a bit shabby too, with a too-soft bed and very strange sheets - who doesn't expect fresh crisp percale sheets at the price we were paying? There was a roll-away bed at the foot of the king size bed, all disheveled and unpleasant. I mentioned it to Clayton and he immediately removed it, but why had it been left there in the first place? The housekeeping was definitely lacking. I don't know if the place is in a financial crisis, which might explain the lack of maintenance, but when we were there it appeared that all of the rooms were occupied. I would not recommend the hotel room to anyone. My two-star rating is based primarily on the condition of our room plus the poor maintenance in general.response / report this review -

It was clean, the staff was great, and they preserved the place so well. Still felt like the old days. It's kind of incredible how well it was preserved. The wifi signal was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel.

The room and service have been very good. We ate at the restaurant and it was delicious. The best thing is the amazing atmosphere that you can only get in a classic hotel. The springs are also beautiful and steps away from the lodge.

By far worst place ever rooms are nasty. The staff really don't seem know what's going on you get past from person to person. House keeping is poor. Will never stay here again. My daughter had her wedding here please anyone looking for nice place for wedding it's not here. We had problems from day one with check in should left then but wait it gets worse (room 29). Toilet overflowed in middle night for our reason we was in bed got up only step in nasty water. Front desk brings up mop to clean up water yes just a mop nothing to disinfect or sanitize the floor. It got under the bed on the area rug and under the desk. He then left all the nasty towels on the floor I had go back down to front desk where I was told he mopped it up well yes he did but it's not clean we was moved to another room. If you stay in room 29 the rug was never removed to be clean it. ( nasty) once we got threw the wedding we checked out only to get home find chargers on our card for the room we was moved out of yes we was charged for a nasty room that we could not stay in. Don't wast you time or money here very disappointing

I had the best calamari of my life at the restaurant. They home-make their calamari spread and their salad dressings; I could not believe how good they were. My boyfriend got the Drunken Duck, which was in a delicious, salty, tangy orange sauce and which was well-marbled and so good. There were delicious-smelling fresh picked flowers in a vase and a beautiful view of Wakulla Springs from window-paned walls. Dean Martin was playing pleasantly. The waitress (is waiter more politically correct?) even offered to squeeze me a batch of off-the-menu fresh-made lemonade. It was so delicious after a hot day in the emerald springs. The manager was really friendly and hospitable and gave us a tour of the rooms which was informational and interesting. Although the rooms had a somewhat modest feel and you would probably want to spring for a King sized bed for two people, the bed felt comfortable, the window view was beautiful, and the shower pressure looked good. The Lodge has the country's oldest working elevator, it's like off an old movie. We played checkers and chess at an old-fashioned table and looked at art and a big stuffed gator. That was a fun day, I'm gonna remember it. I want to go back next month for my birthday and stay.
