The Jewel Hotel worked out perfectly for our last minute decision to visit NYC and was a perfect central location. We arrived too early for check-in but the staff made sure we felt settled and ready for our day around the city. We arrived back late in the evening resulting in a change in concierge but they knew exactly who we were and provided us with room keys and bags already delivered to the room. The room was perfect and provided the necessities, internet service, coffee. Once settled we did request a few more items for the room and I was surprised the late night request was accommodated in minutes. The following day we checked out but remained in the city. The staff were wonderful, holding our bags and assisting with our travel out of the city. We are looking forward to making this a family tradition during the holiday season and having the Jewel be there place we temporarily call home.

Very centrally located to all the going ons in NYC. I feel that the room was a decent size for being in the city. Room was clean, but didn't have a safe or the extra security latch on the door. Staff was very friendly and held our bags for us after we checked out until we were ready to head home.

Reasonably priced hotel in a great location. I wanted to wander around and take in some of the sights around midtown and it was ideal for this. Rooms were clean but obviously not vacuumed every day.

Amazing location. rooms are clean, but that is about it. Towels were frayed, only put one caffeinated coffee K-Cup in the room, and then they didn't have coffee in the lobby on Sunday morning for a long time. Seems like they have really nice people but they are short staffed. That said, we will stay there again, for the incredible location for Christmas at the Rockefeller.

The front desk personnel are courteous and very helpful. Loved the water bottle fill stations on each floor. Room was small but had every thing we needed. Only negative was I left my phone charger there and called back but housekeeping never returned my call.

I stayed here almost two years ago and it was incredible. The views were breathtaking and the location is perfect. The hefty cost is definitely worth paying for such a great hotel room.

Crappy way over rated hotel. I'll just list the pros and cons:
Pros:
We had a room and the hotel had a Great location
Cons:
Horrible motel 6 quality rooms
Rooms were not cleaned well
Smelled like fried foods as you AC unit in the window is above a large exhaust vent for a Asian restaurant.
No ac in the hall
Very disappointed in general and felt the star ratings where way out of line!!!response / report this review -

Not the worst hotelWe're the type to go a bit cheaper on the hotel because all we use it for is sleep and showers. If you're looking for something more you'll be disappointed. It was great for our purposes. Extremely excellent location, great staff.. but small. No air conditioning in halls, uncomfortable beds with only 1 pillow each and very cheap bedding. Barely any water pressure in the shower (which leaked all over the floors unless you stood next to the wall.) Only two bath towels so I had to dry my hair with the hand towels. Blow dryer was extremely poor quality (bring yours from home if you stay). Housekeeping never vacuumed.. just overall meh.. what I expected for that price in manhattan. Recommend if you're looking for somewhere reasonably priced in that location

Wow. My wife convinced me to go against my usual brand preferences and try a boutique. The Jewel is awesome. We stayed on 12th floor with amazing views of Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick's and Manhattan. Rene Leslie and Iris were amongst the staff that were very friendly and had great tips on where to go. Highly recommend!

Perfect location. Price accordingly. Impeccable if tiny rooms, free filtered water, but somewhat poorly maintained: Espressomaker out of order for the whole week, and since this is not a hotel in the ordinary sense - no lobby, no restaurant or bar, only one staff at a time - you can't get real coffee.

Room is clean and nice, but small. Amazing location that makes getting around to see the sights a breeze. Staff are nice when you approach them, but they don't go out of their way to engage with you.

We stayed here for a night during a long layover to New York.
The location is excellent for sight-seeing in Midtown. Radio City was visible from the front door.
Everything else was kind of "meh." Maybe I just under-estimated the price of a nice room with that sort of location. I paid twice as much as I usually would for a hotel in hopes of something nice. The room was furnished and decorated like a Super 8 from the 90s and the service was a little underwhelming.response / report this review -

The rooms at this hotel are small but luxurious. I was very pleased with the quality of the beds, pillows, work station and bathrooms. There is food available to order at any time. It is in a great location overlooking Rockefeller Center and right next to 5th Ave. I would recommend this location to everyone!
