Good service, clean, 10min walk from the Alamo and very decent for the price. I don't think you'll find anything cheaper tha this close to downtown. I always stay here.
First off - this place is what it is. You simply are NOT going to find a cheaper hotel with such a great location downtown. We stayed over thanksgiving weekend and absolutely LOVED every minute of it. Seems to be dog friendly also. It is a cheap hotel, and some experiences here that come with that just have to be taken with the price. Walls in our room weren't spotless, and towels and other room supplies were scant. "Breakfast" is not really a meal (unless you love cereal) and the morning coffee is very weak. That being said, I would stay here again. The location CANNOT be beat.
Some of the staff are nice than others. Absolutely for sure the Manager is extermly rude and also very perverted. Everything in the rooms needs to be updated and have a deep cleaning. Housekeeping for sure cuts corners on their cleaning. Certain people will steal your belongings after checking in if your not around at night. Also, there is way too many bed bugs. One last thing..I'm not someone who talks about others but I only speak the truth for you to be aware of your surroundings and stay safe. The assistant manager Amanda sells drugs and also one of the housekeepers that lives on the property. Which the owner & manager know all about it.
The staff was friendly and willing to accommodate me. Also the price was great. However the first room I was placed in was gross. When I laid in bed at night, a large bug scurried across the bed right in front of my face. Then in the bathroom there were multiple cockroaches scurrying around. They did let me to switch rooms but this occurred after midnight.
The Inn is a ver u nice place to stay. ITS right near the river walk, close to the Alamo, and restaurants of your choice to pick from and the night life is to die for, clubs all around to dance all night. I would definitely recommend this place to come and stay, the employees are the best they go out of there way for you. And will accommodate you to the best they can I give this place 4 star's.
I was just there for a layover. This was the cheapest hotel near the Greyhound Terminal. Its run down and more of a motel than a hotel/inn. Its also not far from all the downtown bars if your bored.
Good prices and nice large rooms! My stay was very nice and peaceful! I had a decent breakfast in the morning! Comfortable beds! Clean! Friendly staff!
My family and I stayed downtown during hurricane Harvey, the lady at the front desk Tish, took good care of us. She was very accommodating and never complained about having to make multiple trips to adj the a/c and bring towels. The location is great if your there for sight seeing. And the room was comfortable and the front desk attendant made a tough situation as pleseant as could be.
Doesn't look like much from the road. Staff was great. Accommodations were the same as when the rooms were last decorated. (It's been a while.) Breakfast was very lacking. Location was great though. Within walking distance of the mall, the Alamo, and downtown.
My biggest issue wasn't that the building was old or that the rooms and furniture look like something out of the 90s, not even bothered that the place could have used some serious TLC. Nope, my biggest issue was the German roach infestation. We were moved to another room after the first night, but still had the same problem. Turning on the lights to be met with scattering baby roaches on a toilet seat, or looking up to see a roach scurrying across the bed, or picking up something only to see a roach already crawling in it. Disgusting.
They had one washer and dryer to use though, and that was nice. It was in a good location and the lobby staff were nice.
We had a early check in booked through Choice Hotels. The hotel cancelled it because they said they couldn't do that. Then you need to get with your third party people and get that correct. We were charged a different price then first quotes. The room smelled like smoke and the door would not lock. We checked out immediately and only got a refund of 1 night even though we Never stayed but 2 minutes in the room. Went right up the street to Holiday Inn. Had no problem the rooms are way more up to date and clean no smoke smell and 100 cheaper than this place. Never again!!
The place is definitely pretty ghetto but gets the job done. The shower is actually the nicest part of the room we were in, with a good shower head. The bed was uncomfortable, but to be expected of a hotel. There were a couple roaches, one on the ceiling by the bed, and one in the bathroom, so that was kind of gross. My biggest issue however was the fact that the a.c. just would not get cold enough, so our room was always pretty musty. It's not like you're going to spend all your time in San Antonio in the hotel room, so it definitely serves its purpose for a place to sleep and shower. When we first arrived there someone's room got broken into, so I guess that is something to consider too. I think next time I go to San Antonio I might look into finding a safer and more sanitary location to stay.
The Rodeway Inn will 100% get the job done. It's close to the convention center and quite a bit cheaper than any of the hotels in the area. But man, is it a dump. It looks like it hasn't been updated since e the 80s. The mattresses are bowed (which leads me to believe that those too have not been updated). The carpet looks original and we don't want to walk on it barefoot. We've stayed at Motel 6's that were both cheaper and nicer. If this place got renovated, it would feel a lot better. Also, it looks as if there are a lot of "regulars" if you know what I mean.
