It was cheap and so was the facilities. Bathroom door lock was not working. We had to ask for blanket. However, employees were nice.

Horrible! Edward, the night front office clerk, was very rude and aggressive! My wife had a death in the family and she called earlier to explain what happened because my wife and I had left our belongings in the room. Once we returned late that night, at almost midnight, my wife explained that we knew we couldn’t stay in the room without payment so she asked if we could just go in the room and retrieve our belongings! He refused! He became very aggressive in his tone with my wife. She even asked if she could speak to the manager. He told her that the GM doesn’t usually answer her phone this late. So she asked if he would at least try. Then he started telling her he refused and then changed it to there was a rule saying he couldn’t call the GM after a certain time. My wife then asked if he could just open the door and sand there while we retrieve our items. He became aggressive and we called the cops. Once he saw we called the cops he locked the gate that lets cars in and out! The cops even said he was wrong and that he couldn’t do that because there were other cars that would need to stop in and out! He was so very rude and unprofessional. So much so that when the cops were leaving, they recommended that we call them back in the morning to be there to ensure nothing happens. They also stated that this wasn’t the first complaint about a situation like this happening! I will be reporting this as high as I can because he made my wife feel uncomfortable, he was aggressive, and the cops agreed with us. Once we retrieve our belongings tomorrow, we will NEVER stay there again! We will be speaking with corporate tomorrow and have filed a complaint. We will also be ensuring we get a refund for the night before! We will take this as far as we need to. Very rude and no customer service!

Needs serious upgrade. Its very basic. Kind of dumpy. It meets the bare minimum in hotle hospitality. The staff at the desk were nice. But the facilities just look worn. And the rooms are dank. We had to ask for fresh pillows. After finding nasty staines under the pillow cases. The desk personal sent fresh pillows up and we spent one night.. but we decided not to spend another night. A bit of paint and new carpets and this place could be a great value.

Jenny from the front desk was delightful and helpful through our night .
I had doubts because of all the reviews but we came into our room and it was clean , beds were comfortable , super cold a/c we were in room 202 and we were not disappointed.
Breakfast hours were convenient but eggs and beans were cold , Im not a picky person so I just warmed it up in the microwave . Overall a wonderful experience I will make sure to come back here when I am in San Antonio .

Pictures are deceiving, this place is not your ordinary Howard Johnson. The room's bed only had a flat sheet on the bed. And the bed wasn't very comfortable, felt like you were sinking into the mattress There was no comforter or blanket to keep warm with, the fridge had a black mildew all along the outside trim of the door, and the room carpet felt a little damp when we walked in. The AC unit was left on when we came into the room so it could be the moisture retained in the room that made the carpet feel wet. There was also an odor as we walked in, the walls paint was peeling in certain areas. We attend the UTSA football gsme and returned back to the motel after 10pm. We had to call in to the motel"s front desk to open the gate so we could be let back into the parking lot. At that time we were told the lot was full and needed to park in the front area. This is definitely no ordinary Howard Johnson. Next trip we will not return to this place.

On the midst of our evacuation from Corpus Christi due to the threat of Hurricane Harvey, I'd have to say the smiles n hospitality @ Howard Johnson Suites in Central San Antonio was awesome. We felt like we were on a mini-vacation. They were so professional and caring altogether.

The rooms were spacious and clean, they looked just like the picture we saw on line. We had a great time at the pool. We had the kitchens in our rooms that helped with food cost (traveling with growing boys.) I loved the breakfast my bad the free breakfast it was great!!! It was like a family coming down for breakfast in our PJ's thanks Howard Johnson inn San Antonio

Five stars :) ! You won't regret it, it's not overcrowded and the rooms actually look like the picture. They are very nice rooms with very comfortable beds. Very nice rooms. I didn't run into any rude staff, at all. They were all very nice. Their outdoor pool is also very nice AND they're only 10 minutes from six flags by car!

We stayed here 4 days and had 2 rooms. In town for the Fiesta. First of all, every single person that works there is awesome! Great Customer service. However, the rooms has no phones, iron didn't work, we dodny have a room phone, safe didn't work, there was candy and condoms in the pullout couch , pubic hairs on the bathroom. They never had enough towels to replace the dirty ones They tried to accommodate but kept coming up short. They said the security gate closes at 11pm however it was never closed at night. The breakfast was just bagels and cereal, i mean they do have eggs but the eggs and sausages were both microwaved. Yuck.

Horrible place. Located in the ghetto of San Antonio. There were crackheads and druggies everywhere and even stalked some children on our school trip when we stayed there. There were bugs in the rooms and even bed bugs in one of the beds. The front desk clerk lady was high so the cops were called and she got fined. Certain parts of the place reeked of strong weed. I didn't feel safe at all and thought we were gonna get broken into in the night. Horrible experience and the hot tub outside doesnt work. It's freezing.

The property is very nice, and so were the three ladies i had the pleasure of meeting. The one at check in was very nice, informative and helpful. The girl overnight was very sweet, especially about having to go outside to open and close the gate EVERYTIME a car came onto or left the property. I felt access to the rooms was secure as all entrances leading from outside, save for the main lobby, were card key protected. My only complaints would be the gate; that has to be updated so these ladies wont have to expose themselves to danger going out to let people in. They have only offer washing machine on site, and no change or change machine. Ooh, and the overnight clerk prepared the eggs, sausage and beans for the continental breakfast and did a great job. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay for the price. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was perfect for my family which included 5 adults and 5 kids in two rooms. The rooms were large and spacious for all of us to fit comfortably. It was centrally located and took no time for us to get to Six Flags and the River Walk. The grounds of the hotel were kept up nicely including the pool, which is a kid favorite. Breakfast had all of my kids favorites including waffles, oatmeal, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, milk and juice. Throughout our stay the staff was amazing. We were able to check into our room a little early which made my kids happy after having been in the car for 8+ hours. There were several food places nearby that delivered to the hotel making our stay with kids that much easier. Overall a great experience from a hotel that didn't cost a fortune leaving room for more sites around the town.
