Very attractive design, nice rooms and great staff. However, they seem to fall short on some of the details For example, they have nice Nesspresso machines but there weren't any coffee pods for me to use. They have free WiFi but it has been consistently inconsistent by regularly dropping the connection. Lastly, they are sparse on amenities. I'd stay here again for work, but the hotel could bump itself up to awesome if it fixed some small things.

Location of the hotel is great. Room was clean and had all amenities for basic necessities. However the room was very dark, there is a lack of proper lighting , and I am not kidding !!! Drapes in the window were closed shut and affixed, I was not able to move them to at least let the day light in.
The front desk people were polite, but that was the extend of the service.
I asked for room service, and although it was confirmed in person, it never happened.
This hotel does not deserve the stars it has.
This place lacks personality, and uniqueness , it is just blahI suppose that would be fine, if it was a lot less money
I have stayed in New York in lower star hotels with much much better service and amenities, for a faction of cost !!!response / report this review -

Location was amazing, we could walk everywhere quite comfortably. Room was lovely, bed was comfy, bathroom was also great. Lighting could be better in the room and we wouldn't bother with paying extra for the terrace next time. Customer service at front desk was excellent and they were always more than welcome to help in any way they could. Definitely also pay a visit to the Wolfgang restaurant, they have amazing food.

Maid service a little weak but front desk is spot on.
The bed is devine.
The pillows and sheets fantastic.
The maid service needs new help or better training.
Otherwise 5 star
Construction across the street takes away the Ambiance but that's not the hotel's fault.response / report this review -

I did not say here, my brother in-law did. It is beautiful and in a nice location. However, I was locked out on the 16th floor patio from his room at 2am. Fortunately I was our there for only 30 minutes after some very precise guesswork on the lock allowed the door to open. The hotel did not do much to help.

This is one of the best deals in the city. Superb location. Awesome balconies provide an additional area to relax. A hidden gem.

We confirmed early check-in 24 hours before our reservation started. They said they could accommodate us starting at 12:30 instead of the usual 3pm check in time. When we arrived at 12:45, we were told we were too early and that the room wasn't ready. This wasn't a huge deal, but the front desk staff were rude about presenting us with this information. They offered to downsize us "if early check in was that important to us," however we were already paying for the nicest room they had and we wanted what we paid for. We waited over an hour for the room to be ready. Also, they took our deposit for the room before telling us all this. The website advertised our room as having a balcony with a view, but the view was actually a brick wall. Overall, disappointing. We will not be staying there again.

The rooms are decently sized for Manhattan, and recently renovated from what I can tell. Even the cheapest room they had has a little balcony, although it's barely wide enough to stand on. I had a great experience and the staff were super friendly! My only complaint is the rooms are DARK and there's very little lighting. I had one lamp to light the entire room, since there was no overhead lighting or other lamps past the entryway/bathroom area. But it's a small complaint. Good hotel, and it was fairly cheap!

Fantastic stay at The Gotham Manhattan! We were a few blocks from Rockefeller Center, The Empire State Building, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway shows, Central Park and other Manhattan attractions. Andrew and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly. They gladly took photos of us in front of the "Big Apple" picture in the lobby each morning, recommended places to eat, and gave us directions to where we wanted to go. The room was clean and very roomy for Manhattan. We even had a terrace! This was my first trip to New York City, and when I return I know where I'll stay ~ right here at The Gotham Hotel.
Thanks for making our trip so easy, fun and comfortable!

Not the experience that I should expect from a good hotel. A lot of small problems, raging from water heating problems to small issues with the room. I really expected a better service.

Our stay at the Gotham was wonderful! The staff is very friendly. The building is modern and clean. It's located in a great area with access to everything. I would definitely book here again.
