Best pub quiz, best curly fries, best staff, best burger with pepper jack and jalapeno, best bottles and cans selection, best juke box.

Love the big selection of beers. I can always find the sport event I need to watch and even though they have expanded, still had that cozy bar feel.

Came in for lunch on a Sunday. First time visiting. Food is okay. Nothing special. Great beer selection. Decent draft selection and a large bottle/can collection.
A lot of comments say this place is great to watch soccer. Inside is decorated with various soccer memorabilia. Also a good place to watch football.response / report this review -

The best soccer bar in Chicago hands down. There ismply isn't a better, more devout soccer bar around. The beer selection is wonderful, but it's all about the great fans taking in one of the many soccer matches here

went here after a meeting in the area. I wasnt too thrilled. The service was rather slow, and I was there on a Wednesday night, with no big games on. The waitress seemed rather on edge, but I think that might have been us, since we gave her our order really quickly. She got everything right though, to be fair and the food came out relatively quickly.
My faves for the evening were the jalapeno poppers- they were stuffed with an incredible cream cheese and were bacon wrapped. Definitely will re-order that. The artichoke dip lacked a little salt, but was well made and had a good texture. The goat cheese bruschetta was a little disappointing to be honest, and didn't have the punch I thought it would. Also the bread wasn't really toasted/baked, which was weird. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and mac-y but a little forgettable. I had the globe burger, which was A-OK. comes with a side of fries- not necessarily the greatest. I also had the flirtini - I liked that it wasn't uber sweet, but it wasn't well mixed according to me, the flavors changed as the drink progressed and it had a bitter taste to the end (maybe it was the maraschino cherry?) The alcohol is a little odd - they have beer, wine and martinis, but no other cocktails or well drinks.
The ambiance was just another sports bar- lots of wood and a number of screens. Good to watch a game cos there wasn't a place in the bar where you wouldn't be able to watch a screen.response / report this review -

Nothing extremely special about The Globe; traditional sports bar scene, food is OK. Beer list is pretty solid.

Went to watch West Brom v Watford which was advertised as being shown at the bar. It took a while for them to find the game and when they did it buffered every 5 seconds so was impossible to watch. When I complained the guy working there said "our wifi is poor so that's how it is man'. I put up with it for half an hour but by this time I'd only watched 17 minutes of action and 13 minutes of buffering. So I went to AJ Hudsons which is less than half a mile away. They had all Premier League games on and all were streaming perfectly. If you want to watch anything that is showing on NBC Sports Gold then avoid the Globe. They shouldn't advertise that they are showing a game if their wifi signal is so poor that even when the stream works the screen quality makes it look like the players are underwater.

I just moved to Chicago and I've been looking for an excellent pub that catered to socialists and Marxists. And at the Globe Pub- it has it all, worker collectives, class struggle, proletariat, and so much more!
When entering - you are given complimentary copies of Das Kapital and travel brochures to Cuba. There is a roll your own cigar humidor area and nightly podcasts featuring Zizek, Chomsky, and Chapo Trap House.
My favourite thing is the on site pet pig named, "Napoleon."
I would recommend this pub to anyone who realizes that property is theft and wants to eat the rich.response / report this review -

Great draft menu. Very good fish and chips. Place to go to watch a soccer game and have Euro inspired dishes. Very large bar Lots of seating.

One of the best football pubs in Chicago. If you're a fan of European football this is definitely the place to go to. I would recommend the full English breakfast, it's fantastic.

Great neighborhood spot. Good food! Writing the review because we are going out of town for New Years and I just realized that means no Hangover Burger on New Years Day. SAD. Sal is pretty great so chat him up.
