You have not lived life until you have had their lobster mac and cheese. We ate here right after hurricane Irma and shared a lovely bottle of wine over appetizers and two entrees. We also love how they have incorporated subtle Star Wars items around the restaurant. The owners & staff are some of the most wonderful people we have had the pleasure of meeting.

Absolutely incredible service and amazing food. The staff is probably the nicest staff I have met in any restaurant. This place is a must visit in Key West. You won’t be disappointed.

Very good high quality food. Slightly upscale for what it looks like, but still laid back and relaxed. Generous, but not huge portion sizes. The Lobster Mac is AMAZING, a must have! Definitely off the beaten path, but we'll worth it. Reservations not needed, but highly recommended, we showed up and it wasn't busy but we had to wait for a few minutes so they could figure out which table wasn't reserved.

One time I had a dream that I had eaten the best food ever made, and I wept when I awoke because I knew nothing in real life could ever be as sweet. Then I went to the Flaming Buoy, and now I weep for the children who live their lives not knowing the taste of lobster mac n cheese. The service and ambience were excellent as well.

I went there with my family last night after getting married (we didn't want a big to do.) the staff and the owner went above and beyond for us, even though they did not have to. The food was amazing, and I cannot put into words how friendly and sincere they are. Will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for all you do! It does not go unnoticed. Best night ever and I'm glad we decided to go.

Excellent choice!! After a day of fishing with a charter boat, we took a few of the fish fillets to the restaurant that night. The staff was very attentive. We selected a main dish from the menu and the cook used our fresh fillets to make our dishes. The appetizers where fantastic. The atmosphere outside had a wonderful ambience.

My wife and I just loved this restaurant! Our dinners were fantastic, Bacon Wrapped Scallops and Lobster Thermidor, both delicious and the presentation was excellent. Our waiter, Joey, was really special. He took the time to explain the specials, told us about the history of the building and helped with wine selection. This Is now our favorite Key West restaurant, and we will definitely recommend it to all our friends and family. Make sure to make a reservation, the restaurant is quaint and cozy! The Flaming Buoy is in a residential area of Key West, nestled amongst typical Key West architecture! This restaurant is a MUST!

Small, but fabulous. I ate there twice during a week-long stay in Key West. It was right around the corner from my hotel, but I would have walked even further for food like this. The guys that run the place are super friendly and really seem to love what they do. The place itself is small, so make reservations to be sure you get a table.
The reviews I read said to to try the lobster mac and cheese, so I did. I recommend you do, too. It's a can't miss! You can get it as an appetizer or an entree so if you want it and something else, you can do that! I also enjoyed the spinach salad to start. The second time I visited, I had the Mahi Mahi; I feel like you can never go wrong with that. Again, I was not disappointed. For dessert, I had the chocolate chocolate chip Belgian waffles with ice cream. It was so pretty, I almost felt bad about eating it. It was so tasty though, my guilt disappeared.
The small feel, the friendliness of everyone there, and the top quality ingredients made me think of my recent trip to The Netherlands. I even told my waiter I hadn't had food this good since Europe. But they've definitely got a Key West vibe going on. And that's a great thing.response / report this review -

Made a reservation (recommend doing so) and were seated right on arrival. Restaurant is off the beaten path, nestled in a quiet part of town. Our server, Brian was so friendly and welcoming. You could tell the staff really enjoy their job, it just comes off in the way they interact with customers. Lobster mac was great (wish there was more lobster) recommend sharing as an app. Ordered the hogfish with mash, carrots and a broccoli cake. Hogfish was amazing and so fresh. Great wine and beer. I would definitely recommend going there and would return again!
