Great location and very nice staff. But, I had no hot water for 2 days. I was told I had to let the shower run for 10 minutes, but the temperature stayed cold. And the windows in my room faced directly into the back of another building, so there was positively no view. I would stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff. Does not have the most amenities but still a great place to rest your head while staring in DC.

It is in a great location with very cheap stay. With the price comes some flaws. Our shower water smelled like sulfer, the WiFi did not exist, the ice machine was broken, the sheets were dirty, and the room was VERY small.

Tiny rooms old tv's and no breakfast. Don't go late at night, np employees will be there.

This is the worst hotel stay I have ever had . To start off you have to be buzzed in. Which isn't a bad thing, if they let you in. We walked outside to smoke our ciggerattes and the lady would walk away from the front desk. Then walking down the hallway you'll see in the one picture I posted there's a basket of junk just covered up with a towel in front of a bedroom drawer from the 1800's or something and it's broken and nasty. So we get to our hotel room and it's a two-bed room but it's literally so small with two beds we had to push the beds together to fit pass the bed to get to the bathroom. So, then we try to turn the A/C on with the remote . That doesn't work. In another picture I posted you can see the corroded batteries that haven't been changed in ages. we already don't have a refrigerator in the room and they give us no ice bucket with a lid. They say there is free breakfast but their isnt. That is odd to me. Why lie? The baseboards and carpets are disgusting. I feel gross in here. The beds are uncomfortable too. The outlets don't have covers. The bathroom stinks like a lockerroom. Lampshades are broken and the two lamps don't even match. It really is a run down place . The walls have stains on them and a huge outline of a picture that was hung there I guess. If you haven't booked your hotel room yet DO NOT BOOK IT HERE!!!!SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. YOU WILL REGRET SPENDING ANY MONEY HERE!!

The location is great. Rooms are small but perfect for what we needed. Not much on hot water in the shower but it helped the kids hurry to get them ready in the morning. You're not staying in a luxury place but it was perfect for seeing DC on a budget.

Pleasant experience, they let you check in early. Nice and safe location with access to multiple restaurants and museums in walking distance.

April Hotel refuses to cancel a July 24 reservation Did not answer my 2 first emails. They replied "We cannot cancel your reservation. You must cancel thru Expedia."
WTF!
I may have lost $400

The place is clean but a bit shabby- we stayed here for two days while in D.C. and really only slept in the room because we were out and about. Great location- we walked to the White House and the National Mall easily, tons of restaurants a few blocks away, easy to grab a cab- lively neighborhood, very safe. The room was about the size of an average bedroom and nothing special, although very clean. No amenities to speak of- coffee and tea in the common room (nothing in-room). The absolute worst part is the wifi- it is totally worthless, I couldn't even load a page on the internet. If you plan on spending time relaxing in the room this may not be the spot for you. The staff was very friendly, gave great recommendations for takeout/delivery. I would consider it again but might hesitate because of the wifi. The price is about half of what you'd pay anywhere else in the area.

Everything I could have hoped for given the price and location (very cheap yet proximate to the better parts of the city). Entropy mixed with a sickly sweet smell. I've stayed in worse. Good if you're on a budget and don't plan to spend much time there. Wouldn't have stayed here if my significant other was coming along though.
