My husband and I took our 4 year old granddaughter and our 8 month grandson here. We all loved it. They have so much to see and do. And an added bonus is the food court. No more having to leave to grab lunch. It may be called the children's museum but it's definitely not just for children. A must go to place!

What's not to like about the Children's Museum, ha, as it's ever changing displays are great for kids of all ages. The exhibits are always wonderful and interesting and you might even learn a few things about the land that time forgot, or almost forgot I guess, ha. From ancient Egypt and the pyramids to the age of dinosaurs they have it all here. Bring a bus load of kids from school, or bring a date for something different than a movie, she will be impressed and you will look intelligent and get bonus points for thinking of coming here, ha. During certain holidays they also have night time events, and everything is always family friendly. Spend a fun day at the Children;s Museum!

The children's museum is a great place to spend time as a family. There are activities for all ages and interests. Everything is tactile and interactive on some level. The exhibits change regularly and are usually well done. On the downside, it's a bit expensive for non-members and the crowds are usually rough on weekends and around holidays. The food options are decent, but kind of expensive even for members. I highly recommend getting a membership. It pays for itself in as little as two visits.

This is a really great facility. Entry cost is reasonable, the exhibits are great and interactive, and kids love it. Its hard to actually see everything the museum has to offer in a single day, but there is so much you tend to be wore out by closing time. Their theater performance is nice and pretty entertaining to even younger children. The Indianapolis Children's Museum really has something special.

I cant say enough good things about this place! My kids love it here! We drive over an hour to get here and each time we are never disappointed! This place is huge! So much more to do than our local children's museum! They have so many exhibits and considering everything that is included, it is extremely affordable! We look forward to the Christmas exhibits every single year! This place is great for families to make a day or two of.

The Children's Museum is massive! It's definitely one of the things to do if you visit Indianapolis. We went on the first Thursday of the month for $5 tickets, which you can buy ahead of time. I recommend getting there early, because there are four floors and a massive basement area to check out. Do not make the mistake of leaving the dinosaurs and the space stuff in the basement for last. They are the best!

My child goes to the children's museum preschool, so we literally go there twice a week. We obviously don't spend all day there twice a week after school, but if we did, we would probably find plenty to do for several weeks.
The exhibits are clever and cater well to a wide variety of ages and ability levels. It is pricey, so if you are local and take your family more than once a year, spring for the membership- also there is a very cool branch of the public library there. If you are not local and are going to be in Indy for a couple days with kids, it's worth it to spend one there.
They have the best dinosaur exhibit I've seen! The trains are a hit with my kids, but I wouldn't be upset if they upgraded that exhibit, honestly. The toddler area is awesome and I love love love the China exhibit. We have not been into the space exhibit yet but it looks interesting from afar :)response / report this review -

Indianapolis is lucky to have the Children's Museum. It's easily one of the greatest things to do in the area and probably the state. The permanent exhibits are very high quality and they do a great job with temporary exhibits. We've spent countless Saturday's over the past 8 years and have more to come.
Our membership has always paid for it self and will continue to for the next several years. Once my kids are too old I will certainly miss our trips here.response / report this review -

Awesome, fun place for children, but adults will like it too. Staff friendly and great with the kids. Lots of stuff to do and see. Cafeteria/ Cafe reasonably priced. Wear comfortable clothes, as you will be playing with the kids. Fun Disco dance lesson, Circus show, Tai chi, and Dinosaurs. Tower of Glass is amazing.

The museum was wonderful! Very clean, bright, well laid out. The exhibits were interesting & varied. The glass tower was magnificent! The ramp walkway made getting around with a stroller very easy. The children's play area was very fun for the little one. We will definitely return if we're in the area again!

Truly can't say enough nice things about this museum. I've been to a few different children's museum, but this one has them all beat in the breadth of its exhibits. So many are limited to science, or art, or whatever. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis covers all areas and yet doesn't feel frenetic. If you have kids, it's absolutely worth a stop. And if you don't have kids, borrow one and go as well!

My niece loved this place. She just turned 2 and keeps telling everyone about how she got to visit China and feed the baby panda bears (stuffed panda bears) This place has it all and is very affordable. Do the children in your life a favor and take them to this museum. Not only will they learn but you may just unlock an interest they would have never known they could have.

The first Thursday of each month the Children's Museum offers entry at just $5 each from 4-8pm. This coincided with our spring break, so the timing was great for us. We expected large crowds, and there were, but we were still able to easily navigate the museum and take in all of the exhibits we wanted to see. The new Circus section was a huge hit! It's very interactive, and our kids really enjoyed it, especially the VR tight rope walk experience.

Their customer service is top notch. We had prepaid tickets that expired a month before we were able to make a trip to the museum. Customer Service was kind enough to extend our expiration so we did not have to buy new tickets. That is amazing in itself.
The employees that work here have a crazy amount of energy and enthusiasm. I have no idea how they do this 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. They really make the museum, not the exhibits.
Speaking of exhibits, no expense seems spared when it comes to building these. And considering thousands of people visit the museum each day, you would never know this as everything looks clean and new.
The only very slightly negative comment I would have regards the age appropriateness of the exhibits. This museum is 5 floors! Crazy. But We went with a 6, 5 and 3 year old. They were really only interested in the lower level, and the fourth floor. The stuff in between was not much interactive (except the circus exhibit, very cool!) and was more story telling and preaching type stuff.
The place is really build to appeal to toddlers through teenagers. So keep this in mind. You kids likely won't find everything fascinating. But that's OK. There is enough in this building to occupy a half day of any kids time.
Last, we did eat at the first floor cafeteria. It is overpriced, yes. Like every other zoo, museum, and park. Spend your money wisely. Order the pizza family deal and everyone should be happy. Stay away from the cheeseburger. The grilled chicken sandwich is fantastic. Bring your own food if you want to save money.response / report this review -

Great place to visit! The kids loved it!
Plan to spend the whole day there. We had to drag our little ones from one room to the next. They had so much fun in each one that they didn't want to leave any one of them. I think they could have spent the entire day at any of the exhibits which says a lot considering the attention spans of the average 3 & 5 year old.
I loved this place 30 years ago when I was young and although I was sad to see they had made a lot of changes since then, it was just as exciting for my children today as it was for me at that age!
This place just keeps getting better and better!
