I take my daughter here for swimming. Their pool is 4 get deep all the way across, has 3 lanes, and has tons of floaties. In the winter time the athletic club is a good place to have a membership so the kids can keep swimming indoors. Besides all that, there is a convenient parking garage. The hotel itself seems pretty nice with a couple of good restaurants inside the hotel and a bunch of stuff nearby in Harvard square

An excellent hotel! The rooms are newly redone and are up-to-date and very comfortable. The staff members are cheerful, friendly and very helpful. A great location near Harvard and with very close access to the Red line.

It has 2 of the better restaurants in Cambridge and the Boston area. The restaurants alone are with the visit. The hotel is right in the middle of Harvard Square which allows for the ability to visit both Harvard and MIT while in Cambridge.

Eating at henriettas table. The service was quick and people were nice. Nothing that special. The food tasted fresh and the quality was good. Really enjoyed the flannel hash but nothing was a real wow that stood out as a must return. I would eat here again but Cambridge has a lot of good options

Very nice hotel. My room was huge. It has new England style decor. The bathroom mirror had a hidden TV built in. The staff were extremely friendly. My room service breakfast was great.

Oh my gosh! If you have the chance to stay somewhere else in Cambridge, better run, not walk over there. The Charles, our experience (time: fall 2017). Extremely overpriced. No sound isolation. Old mattresses like hammocks. OK, it is clean. But nobody tells you: The majority of their rooms share an adjacent door to the neighbor room / suite. Your privacy is compromised to an extent that you feel you are living in a communal dorm, for $ 400 a night. You hear EVERY WORD spoken in the other room, AS IF THE OTHER GUESTS ARE JUST ONE FOOT AWAY FROM YOUR BED. You do not see them. But they are there with you. Special warning: The Charles also has rooms with no outside windows, but instead a glass panel opening to the inside pool area (!!). You feel like a life guard on duty. They really try to push these on guests first. The restaurant: OK food with a rowdy crowd of male waiters, who definitely seemed drunk by 8 pm. There was better service at the student dives outside. Never again. Next time, bring your tent and pitch it on Harvard Square. Same amount of privacy as in the Charles, but for a better rate.

Great bar beautiful location around a lot of great things Harvard square lots of restaurants and bars good amount of places with live music always something going on in the area. Staff is wonderful awesome bar downstairs. Beautiful rooms and nice view of the Charles river would definitely recommend staying here.

Food was great if a touch pricey. Service was kind of slow but we did get seated very quickly. The bathrooms are amazing, real cloth towels are perfect for cleaning up a little toddler after a sticky breakfast.

Had a nice social gathering in the Noir Bar at the Charles Hotel. The Bar was small but cozy, the music loud enough to enjoy but still have a conversation with friends. Great place for a few drinks.

I went to the hotel for dinner at Henrietta's table. Dinner was incredible - excellent choices, great meal. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I would recommend and definitely return.

I had a very limited experience here, one of my colleagues was staying here and we met here one morning to start a photo shoot. The hotel has an extremely attractive location, really unbeatable in the heart of Harvard Square. The decor is understated but elegant. They're not going for an ultra modern/super Sleek look as far as I can tell - feels more like your very rich aunts' living room. The restaurant/bar/breakfast spot looks really good but I didn't eat there. I'm not sure what the pricing is like for the rooms but I would definitely stay here if I needed to stay in the area!

Not here as an overnight guest, attending a function. Staff was friendly and helpful. Meeting rooms were well apportioned. Convenient parking. Ample space outside of the meeting room for private conversations and the like. Lots of great restaurants in and around the hotel.

Very nice staff. They were attentive but not pushy. The bar was a bit too dark for my liking but I guess it is called Noir so I would expect that. I didn't actually get any drinks or food to know if they were good. The bar was a great place to gather with friends because there was no loud music. They have an interesting decor that involves projecting a black and white film onto blinds.
