This was an amazing hotel. It's exactly the kind of experience young, gentrifying hipsters love. The neighborhood is authentic, close to a dozen different restaurants, and in a strong Asian community. The inn itself is quiet, quaint, and great for the price. Only reason I gave 4 stars? Bloody shower. Bring your own showerhead, the one they have is awful. Also. Bring a spare pillow. But great place all the same.

So this place is not new. It's very old, but it has character. Overall, cleanliness was fine except some questionable stains on one of the blankets, but really, what do you expect when you stay in a hotel? Easy enough to switch the bedding out.

Service was great, they checked us in and left us alone, which is exactly what we wanted. We will be coming back and will definitely be staying at the Farrington Inn again!

This very accommodating hotel/ guest house is in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Away from the city noise. I was so fortunate to come across this quaint little place. Good for students on aa budget and travelers who come to town on a regular basis. I enjoyed my short say. I was able to get the rest and relaxation I so needed.

It's cheap, near a T station, and based on the other reviews here, I kind of knew what I was getting into. The guy at the front desk was friendly. The rooms do not feel clean; the floor doesn't even look as though it's been vacuumed recently. It is the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on, with cheap sheets, and old, flat pillows. Unlike another reviewer, I did not find any bed bugs in my room, but upon entering the room I did feel compelled to check. You are provided with exactly one towel, and there is no room service or room cleaning during your stay. It served my proposes this time, but I would not stay here again.

There's a reason they make you pay for your entire stay at check in. There are bed bugs here.

If bed bugs aren't enough to keep you away, air conditioning barely works, half of the few outlets don't work at all, and no one is ever available at the front desk. In my four night stay I had one towel. An ironing board was only made available after I requested it even though the hotel had advertised as though there was one in every room.
The shared bathroom has no amenities beyond toilet paper and hand soap. You have to bring or buy your own shampoo and soap if you want to shower.
This was the cheapest room in the city, but given the chance to come back I would spring for a different hotel in a heartbeat.

Dirty, filthy, run-down and not worth a penny you might pay. One of my travel companions noticed a dead mouse in the hallway!
Sleeping rough might have been a more pleasant experience. If I could choose a negative star rating, I would.
No surprise the same hostel has different names on different review and booking sites.

Even though the neighbourhood is a bit out of the way from downtown Boston, I absolutely loved staying here. It's nothing fancy; a modest little inn with shared bathroom, but it's well worth the price (especially as a last minute booking!). The rooms are spacious and ours came with a microwave and a mini fridge, as well as a tv, air conditioning, and comfortable beds. The guy behind the front desk was lovely and accommodating, and even gave us a bigger room when he saw I had accidentally booked one with a single bed for both my grandmother and I.

It was easy to find local amenities, and the WiFi was very decent. All in all it was warm and dry, and completely worth the price compared to other hotels in Boston which cost upwards of $200 a night at the last minute! If I ever come back to Boston, I'll surely give this place a longer go!

The Farrington is comfortable and has all the necessities, I just want to point out that it's not a traditional hotel, it's little apartments. This place would be perfect for an extended stay because you have a kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, cupboards, etc plus a sizable living room. 2 big bedrooms with 2 beds in each (full & queen size I believe) so if you're here with family and want several people in one unit & you wanna buy groceries, this place is ideal. There are a few houses and an apartment building on the street that belong to the hotel and I didn't see any of the other rooms or buildings, so I can ONLY tell you about the building I was in. I liked it a lot. It was a roomy 2 bedroom apartment, furnished. It's very basic and that was all we needed so I thought it was great! But just don't think "hotel" when you go there, because it's not the traditional hotel setup (with room service or free breakfast or anything) it's an apartment. The building and street were pretty noisy, the walls were a little thin, so you could hear cars going by, people talking, etc (no parties or anything, just lots of city noise) so if noise really affects your sleep, I'd say don't go here (although again, I can't speak for their other units, just the apartment building we were in). I've lived in a city my whole life so noisy neighbors and streets don't bother me at all, but I want my reviews to be informative to all people and I know a lot of people (my parents for example) that would have considered that place "noisy" so just keep that in mind. That's the only reason I took one star away. Staff was very friendly, booking and check in were a breeze, and get this, real live human beings answer the phone! =) Going here supports a local small business.

The Farrington Inn is conveniently located, has off-street parking, and is clean, comfortable, and very reasonably-priced. Plus, the family that runs it is wonderful! We love this place!

Drove up from NC at night and they accommodated my schedule as far room. The price was great. Parking sucks and there's only 5 or so behind the building. Neighborhood seemed safe to be arriving after 2am. I recommend.
