When they tell you to arrive 30 minutes early, that means come 30 minutes late. I have had 3 appointments here over the last 4 months everyone was at least 30 minutes late. If you can go somewhere else I would highly recommend it.

Tampa General has the best team of doctors, nurses, patient care techs, and many more great team members. I have been take care of so well!!!! I truly wish I had made a decision to use this facility before using others in the area. They deserve all the awards and praise they receive!!!!

waiting hours. while they don't call any one. but keep saying they are getting people in. i watched them bring people in. and it took over 10 mins to pull the person out. that person must have taken the whole hospital to get right. or was already dead. either way. ER is worthless. unless you want to wait 5 hrs with only 5 people in front of you. go somewhere else.

This hospital has come a long way from. It is "one of the best" hospitals in Florida. Yes, we are in a place that is not only a teaching hospital, but we entrust our care to the physicians and nurses and other staff that work there. Are you guaranteed an excellent experience every time? No. We must remember that hospitals are managed by people. People come in all shapes, sizes and personalities. People in a hospital environment have lives too. They always strive to do their best and get us what we need to get the patients out as quickly as possible. We must remember when one is sick in the hospital we are not as pleasant as when we are at home and feel well. There are rules, insurance rules, capcity rules, patient to staff ratios etc. I can write thousands of things that an employee has to do just for one patient. When our needs are not met, we tend to become less patient especially in the hospital. I've had good quality service at this facility and I've had horrible ones too. When you balance them the positives outweigh the negatives. Please keep that in mind when you are in a hospital as a patient or a loved one in the hospital be patient.
The patient care is very good. It may get better on some floors and not so good in other floors. They may be understaffed. We need to take this into consideration. The physicians that are hired by Tampa General Hospital and by the University of South Florida has greatly improved. They hire top notch professors and scientist not like they did 20 years ago. Please remember that the person taking care of you, unless you are in an Intensive Care Unit has other patients to care for not just 2 or three. They have as many as 10 at times and you might not be in better shape than others that take more time.

I spent the whole week there with a friend of mine who doesn't speak very well English so I stayed to translate even though mostly the doctors speak Spanish The doctors and nurses are very nice and professionals. My friend is very happy for the amazing service.

I was in Tampa for a convention. Ran into a leg problem. I'm from out of town not knowing area and a little scared being out of my comfort zone not knowing what to expect with my visit at Tampa General. Well I was surprised with the quickness, promptness and professionalism I got while there. I was treated with prompt care and one of the most friendliest staff from the time I walked through the door until I walked out. My many thanks to all the Nurses, Ultrasound technician, Doctors and Staff who were at my side during this visit. Job well done. Again thanks for all your help in my time of need.

So this evening I went into the ER to get my seven-year-old checked he was complaining of stomach pain at 4:30 and then around seven of chest pain so I clearly to him into the ER , a Hospital that I've been going to since 2013 and I've always had a good experience there now tonight has been the most awful worst experience of my life the doctor did a quick exam on my son and said these exact words , that most kids can be backed up poop and that his chest sounds fine now if his chest pain starts again at home give him Motrin now one thing is when a child chest hurts and they're having a hard time breathing you don't give them Motrin you take them into the ER well that's what the doctor told me. one doctor came in and laughed after I told her I want him to get an x-ray on his stomach and his chest to make sure you know everything is OK so she laughed because I said that then the supervisor came in the room because I requested another doctor and told me that the other doctor dis the exam on him and that he's fine and then I'm going to be discharged and I told her no I'm not leaving till he gets checked from head to toe she said no I'm going to discharge you , and made a whole scene she did I explained to her not leaving till they checked him so she said I'm going to discharge you and if you don't want to leave I can get security so she walked out of the room and told the ladies out there I'm going to discharge them if they don't want to leave please call security so glad my son and clearly said you don't have to do that because I'm going to leave now don't get me wrong I did a little cursing because I was very upset on the fact that a seven was complaining of a really bad stomach pain and chest hurting where when I heard him breathing it was hard I carried my son inside so he got to the bed the doctor claim to see my son walking inside and playing and laughing but she had confused him with someone else's child because I was carrying my seven-year-old all the way inside to the bed . I have never experienced something this horrible. Especially on a child ! Never ever will I go there again and it will be handle on how I was treated practically was thrown out .

I was brought by an ambulance to the ER and than put in the waiting room for over an hour. After that, I was put in the hallway of the ER for 5 hours with nobody to ask for a glass of water. I was told if I don't like it they can move me to the waiting room. I asked to put me in any of the ER room and they declined. After no attention from the medical staff, my friend took me to St Francis Hospital where I was treated with respect and put in ER room. To mention they sent me insurance a bill for $5,500 (not sure for what). I'm trying to dispute it.

Well, our very first experience was at the new ER in Brandon, the staff was amazing!!! Then my husband was transferred to the main hospital and it quickly went downhill from there for us!!! They were supposed to admit him but instead placed him in the observation unit. I am in the medical field myself and based on my opinion the staff should not be working in the medical field as each I tried to ask a question I got a FACE!!! LIKE WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!! Then, we could not get clear cut answers to anything that my husband was feeling. The first night they put him in the observation unit room they left him unattended through the night until the morning not even water he had to keep asking!!! This will be our last time here!!!!

Thank you!!! My daughter was seen in the ER. She's 18 and 1400 miles away at college. A big thank you to every person who came in contact with her. They handled her gently and with care. The biggest thank you to the poor sole who had to draw her blood. (Sorry). She has a big needle issue. I can not tell you how much I appreciate all of you.
