Nice place. Not a 5 star hotel but it was clean conveniently located for me. The night ckerk, house keepers and restaurant staff were all 5 star people. First hotel stay for me that 100% of the employees were great. Really liked their choice of music in the lobby & restaurant.
In dire need of updating. Cigarette butts litter the property. Mildew smell in room. People coming and going at all hours, didn't feel safe waking the property by myself.
We got thrown out during the hurricane by a gay witty receptionist. The hotel looks like a run down crack apartment. They're displaying that nice building that u see from the street but you're actually staying behind the back with the drunks and loud music in the middle of the night. There's no elevator, but at least there's a slippery stairs outside in the rain that waiting to get sue. If you have kid then don't bother about this place because chance are you going to park across the street and walk to your room because there's only 6 parking space inside, and they constantly play loud crappy music until midnight then you have to deal with meth heads roaming around the middle of the night looking through your windows. The room was dirty and old, the ac is on its last leg and loud. The receptionist really shows his gayness by blowing off whatever you ask him as if he doesn't want to be there.
If you just want to get drunk by the pool and spend very little time in your room, this is the hotel for you! I personally was not a fan of the moldy stench that greets you in the hallway, the stained towels (which are already scratchy and child-sized) and the hard bed. The room was small and provided the bare minimum in terms of amenities. Powdered cream for coffee, no hangers, no breakfast, generic toiletries. My husband and I stayed here a few years ago and remember it being much more pleasant. Perhaps they changed management, but we will not be giving it a third chance. On the bright side, the service was friendly, the decor was decent, and we didn't see any bugs. But our room was by no means worth $150/ night. If we had paid half of that, perhaps I wouldn't be so bitter. But paying that much for motel quality is absurd.
I couldn't have dreamed of a better stay or a nicer staff, thank you again! One of the only Pet Friendly hotels in the area that had vacancy during Irma, and I couldn't be happier!! Room was very clean, very spacious, very comfy, staff was very courteous, and the restaurant was very friendly. A+ for everything, and I thank all of you so much for being there in that time of need! My father and father-In-Law will certainly be staying there on their next trip.
Great place good service. All the tourist were cheap and trashy. Seen them run the bar tender all day and tip 5$ then walk around like they own the place. Got along great with the locals they told me where to go eat and other great local bars. I will definitely stay here again
I liked this hotel. It could've been a bit cleaner in my room. It seemed like they didn't clean it very well before I checked in. I felt the need to clean the toilet seat.
The pool area was the best.
Best happy hour by the pool in South Tampa. Great bartender (Mike) who makes amazing drinks and after awhile becomes like a real friend. Love this place.
Older but very nicely maintained and clean property that offers a bit more personality and style than a chain hotel. Polynesian themed with a nod to Tampa history. Bar at the pool ads some character
Yuck!
There are little black curly hairs and long black curly hairs- everywhere- beds, floors, corners, bathroom, etc. shower is gross, I didn't swim because I refused to shower. The bottoms of my feet are stained black/ brown just from walking around the room. The mattress is pee stained and they flipped it over instead of getting a new one. On top of that the comforters were disgustingly stained.
There were also little black specs of something all over the beds, thought it was bed bugs at first but it may have been dirt. Ether way you shouldn't have to second guess that at a hotel!!!!
There were also tape and napkins left over from whoever stayed in this room before us, from a child's birthday party. They didn't care to clean up that well?
And the breakfast cost money!
Overall not happy and will not stay here again!
Great place to spend the night during your stay in Tampa. Wished the restaurant was open for longer than a few hours a day and that the bar had prices and a reprinted selection. We ordered a burger from the outside grill associated with the barway too expensive for what you get, burger was fine just not good enough for $11. Maybe they should reduce their price point to about $6. Located near a Starbucks and Chick-a-Filet. Best part about staying here was the free shuttle between the airport and the hotel as well as from the hotel to the cruise line port authority.
Fantastic Inn! A bit outdated and the beds are not comfortable, but the service is great! Tiki bar is a local hangout and fun! Pool is only slightly heated but a nice swim, and a real deep end (not 5' you see in most hotel pools). I kept my balcony door open all night as there is a small pond with waterfall and coy fish below. You must request a balcony from staff. I suggest calling a day before or morning of your reservation.
