I just came back from a weekend trip in Chicago, and of course I had to stay at one of my favorites, the Swissotel. I’m a big fan of modern architecture and the Swissotel is a stunning, all glass, triangular hotel designed by Harry Weese. It’s ideally located right off of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan and is just a short walk away from the Navy Pier, River North, and Magnificent Mile. We were accommodated with the most beautiful Christmas-decorated room on the 41st floor. We purchased the ‘elf decorated room and beautifully decorated trees and wreaths lit up our room and they even delivered us champagne, milk, and cookies to us every night. Along with this special, the hotel gave us 4 VIP passes to skate at Maggie Daley Park which included free lockers and hot chocolate. The skating ribbon was such an amazing sight to see, especially with the skyline in the background. The rooms are HUGE and the beds & sheets are a dream. I loved the oversized bathrooms as well!
The team at Swissotel couldn’t have been more kind or helpful, especially Brittany – I’ve always been treated very well there and I’ve never had any problems. Oh, and if you decide to stay there, stop by the downstairs bar for an ice-cold beer and buffalo wings. I can’t wait to stay here again during my next trip!
We just did a one night staycation at the Swissotel and it was a wonderful time! I've read mixed reviews and I can't say I understand why. Our room was clean and comfortable with great river views, and the staff was very friendly. They are totally welcoming to dogs and we took our pup all around the hotel. The swimming pool and the fitness room are huge! Best of all, there is a Santa Suite during the holidays and it's decorated with all kinds of trees and Santa even showed and took a photo with us! I will definitely stay there again and recommend it for all families. A Chicago hidden gem ☺
Best hotel in the Chicago! We stay here a few times a year with the family. The kids love the pool, which has amazing views of the river and Navy Pier from the 42nd floor. The rooms are great, and the staff is top notch. Great location - can walk just about anywhere. Bonus - Mariano's grocery is a one block walk. Overall 5 stars!
I bring my children here usually twice a year as this is our Chicago home away from home. Great crew of people running the place. I have never had a bad experience with the staff or property. Great location for Chicago activities. Awesome rooms and suites with beautiful views. Swimming pool and hot tub is the best. Located 10 minutes from dozens of food and entertainment options.
Traveled to this hotel twice in two years for a business meeting. Evening check-in staff was less than friendly/borderline rude both times. Rooms were comfortable but nothing spectacular for the price. It was clean and well kept. Leave the hotel to get dinner, there are much better dining options off-site. Room service breakfast was good.
The most amazing staff and views in Chicago! I have stayed only here when in Chicago for the past 10 years, and recommend the Swiss highly. Great lobby, comfortable beds, super clean.
A very nice hotel. Convenient location and nice, comfortable rooms. The bar has a nice selection of beers and cocktails. Rooms are spacious, clean and we'll furnished. Bathroom is clean and spacious as well. Bathrobes provided for guests as well as coffee and WiFi.
We arrived on time, and got off to a rocky start. First, we were told our room was not ready, and we need to wait for a hour. After some conversation about what was right, the young was able to get us a room. I and my daughter was happy. The room was very nice and clean. Thank you!
I don't even know where to begin. Our stay was beyond fantastic! Upon arrival Keenan our concierge who checked us is was AMAZING! He was super friendly accommodating my spouse an I. Bring it was my first time visiting Chicago he made sure we were equipped with a room with a BEAUTIFUL view of the water front, Navy pier etc. I couldn't be more thankful it made my stay even better. Thank you Keenan. The hotel is equipped with a nice size pool my spouse loves to swim so that was his first stop and he wasn't disappointed at all. Being we are New Yorkers we didn't know everything around closed quite early for our time frame so we ended up having dinner right downstairs in the hotel lobby in which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our stay was beyond magnificent I couldn't be more pleased with staff members who greeted us every chance they got and were so pleasant. The room was very spacious and beautiful. Loved every moment.
A nice hotel in a reasonable location. Located on the river, it is easy to walk around downtown from here with lots of options for dining nearby. A few minutes walk from the subway and taxis readily available by the lobby
The rooms are nice, and the beds are comfortable.
The breakfast is fine but hosted in a basement room with little ambiance.
However, the two occasions I tried to find a bellboy to store / retrieve my luggage I had to hunt rather than them being readily available.
This is not our first stay at the hotel and definitely won't be our last. Right from the check-in through the entire 5 days everything was top of the line. All of the staff were extremely friendly, our suite was roomy and comfortable and the easy access to The Palm Restaurant made the stay most enjoyable. Valet Parking, though pricey, was quick and efficient. We will be back.
Was there for a conference. Elevators are programmable which really helped decrease lines. Lunch in the lobby bar-codes great service and tasty food, tho my soup could have been hotter Ditto for Palm Restaurant- great service. Only had drinks which were tasty and delivered quickly in spite of a large crowd. Was only in meeting rooms but they were nice, good views ( Ferris wheel, etc) and restrooms were clean. Great venue!!
Attended a 4 day conference and decided to stay within the hotel. Best choice by far. The staff was great and food top notch during the conference. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I was pleased to know they have a "green" initiative in which you get food credit for skipping house keeping. The one time I did opt back in for house keeping they left it spotless and even rearranged some of my personal items. I would gladly revisit on my next trip to Chicago.
The hotel is clean, spacious, welcoming (event on a very rainy day). The elevators are quick and efficient. The check in staff are very friendly and helpful. We put the umbrella in the closet to good use, and were dismayed when the wind turned it inside out and broke it. We gave it to the front desk staff, expecting to be charged for it.they happily took it and indicated that this happens all the time, and we are not to worry.
Thank you, we hope to return soon.
Last minute decision due to airlines loosing our luggage. Keenan was so nice and upgraded our room due to our circumstances. Offered to charge my dying phone since my charger was in my luggage. Bernard was a delight to talk with and recommended a great restaurant for dinner. I will certainly pass on my delightful experience to my friends. I consider my experience one of the highlights of my trip.
