Clean room, better than the average super 8.
Construction on the highway in april 2018 made for an eyesore.
Water heater worked very well, never ran out of hot water. Hotel staff was courteous.
Cleaning service was a little rude.
Brought a service dog. Staff was very understanding of ADA protections.
Rented a jacuzzi suite, which was clean and fully functional.
Overall, a nice affordable quiet place.
Surprisingly convenient to the Capitol, this hotel works well for that purpose. That said, the building shows signs of wear (chipped paint, loose fittings, etc.) The shower had hot water, but water pressure was low. Also, the water is very hard, making it difficult to wash off soap. Fine hotel, if expectations aren't too high.
I reserved a suite; 1 king bed and was given a suite with 2 queen size bed. I didn't make a deal about it. Staff is nice but the place is definitely NOT clean. Just spent here a couple of hours and right when I was going to rest in the beds I found 3 strands of hair. I flipped each pillow and found another. Please make sure to check the sheets and pillows when reserving here.
When I head back to Austin, tx I will still stay at this hotel, rooms are amazing and nice. I requested an extended check out which front desk grant my decision, wake up calls on time! They provided me with pretzels and cookies with a big water bottle beside the coffee maker. This hotel has successfully made my experience best!
They charged my personal account before I arrived after I specifically requested pay at hotel because I was waiting on my business debit card. Wouldn't be so upset now but the one employee that seemed to care about the gravity of the situation couldn't fix it. Now before it is all said and done with I'll spend a week with that account drained over an incident that never should have happened in the first place.
Thus was the best stay in a Super 8 we have had. Staff was wonderful. Bfeakfast was fantastic. Hottub was what we needed. We will stay there again.
Nice hotel with free breakfast, pool, and fitness center. Didnt like that they control the ac though. I put the temperature at 70 and it never moves from 74 degrees.
Perfectly weird for Austin. Had a legit porch swing in my room, upholstered of course. Has a nice pool & hot tub in the fenced in back. There's a small breakfast (juice, yogurt, fruit, waffles, and 2 hot options) and dining area. A small store with snacks, OTC meds, etc. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for cleanliness. My pillows were dirty, and there was a half empty water bottle on the swing so if they forgot obvious things what else did they miss.
stayed here 1 night, it lives up 8.3/10 review, good discount for AARP member, very friendly front desk, nice and very clean room, good, many towels, breakfast w/many choices, I give a 4 instead of 5 stars, because the room facing highway was too noisy due to high traffic on highway 183.
Great Value. Clean Big Room. We just had to stay for one night and met our needs..comfy bed and breakfast. Only complain was that the tub didn't drain well.
Nice service. Pool was empty everyday. It was quiet and very clean.
Usually has a good board game selection, though everything is a bit more expensive than I would like it to be
Clean room with very nice hotel staff. Decent internet speeds are provided as well. Definitely a great hotel for its price!
Really an amazing hotel for the price in the Austin area. Super clean, comfortable beds, decent breakfast. We've been going to Austin for years visiting our son and normally we have to pay through the nose for a clean, comfortable hotel, so it was a very pleasant surprise to get it all at such a great price.
THE RESERVATION - Beware of their false advertising bait and switch room scam.
I booked my room online at super8.com. Because I have dietary restrictions, whenever I am staying in a hotel more than a night or two, I prefer to book a room that includes a kitchen area so I can prepare my own food. I was booking a room for 9 nights during SXSW in March so I definitely wanted a room with a kitchen. I made a reservation on their website for a One King Bed Non-Smoking EFFICIENCY because it included a kitchenette area. The photo representing the room that I booked showed a small kitchen area in the room.
When I arrived on a Thursday night to check into my room, I was given a key to a STANDARD One King Bed Room and NOT the EFFICIENCY that I had reserved. I went back to the front desk and told them that there must have been a mistake. The woman working the front desk looked confused and then picked up the phone and walked into a back room (so I couldn't hear) and called the manager of the hotel. However, I have very good hearing and could hear everything that was said on this side of the phone conversation. The manager told her to tell me that my room was not available when it was booked. Can you imagine???
MY ROOM WAS NOT AVAILABLE WHEN IT WAS BOOKED. How is that even possible? How do you let someone book a room in a hotel when the room is not available in the first place? That is pure false advertising and a bait and switch scam because I would have NEVER booked a room in this hotel in the first place if one was not available with a kitchen.
In addition, I booked this room TWO MONTHS in advance. The hotel had TWO MONTHS to contact me about the reservation and tell me that the room I booked was not available. They never did. They even called me the DAY BEFORE I was to arrive to confirm my stay and again they said NOTHING about the room I booked not being available. That is a COMPLETELY unacceptable way to do business.
I told the woman at the front desk how unacceptable that was and that I wanted to stay in the room that I had paid for and that if I was not going to stay in that room then I wanted a severe discount on the room that I was staying in. She crunched some numbers and then told me that what I was paying already included the discount. I told her that what I was paying for was an EFFICIENCY room and not a STANDARD room and because I was not staying in the type of room that I had reserved, I should be provided with a discount. She told me that I would need to contact the manager and that the manager is not in during nights or weekends. I told her that I should not have to be inconvenienced by having to go out of my way to track down the manager because it was not my fault that they screwed up my reservation. They were the ones completely at fault and as such requested that the manager contact me instead. I left my name and contact information. Needless to say, the manager NEVER made any effort to contact me at all during my stay.
My schedule was so tight and fully booked because of SXSW that I did not have any time to try and find another hotel to stay in nor would it have been easy or even possible considering that all of the hotels in the area are booked to capacity during that time.
