Great Price for Studio suite. Best rate in Sarasota for last minute reservation. Loved the hot tub and great breakfast.

The common areas were beautiful, staff was wonderful and attempted to accommodate us. Our room was very spacious appeared clean, but stunk of mold, mildew, musty odor. The bedding felt damp. They changed our room from 1st floor to 3rd floor. The elevator was broken we had to walk up the stairs, (our party included an infant) the 2nd room smelled about the same. Do to the hour of the night we decided to try and make the best of it. We all woke up with sore throats and congestion. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

Room was clean, nice towels. Ac worked well, good location. Elevator was very slow so we had to use stairs a bit. Suite was a good sized room..

Labor Day weekend we stayed at the Spring Hill Suites in Sarasota on University. The experience was so unpleasant. Our room smelled of mold and mildew. Everything, the towels, sheets, couch (which was dirty) and even our clothes hanging in the closet were damp. Gross! I have allergies and woke up with a migraine and a dry cough. Went to the front desk and explained our room problems to Besh Fleeman. She never offered a room change and made light of the situation, offering me 500 reward points. Wow, is that suppose to make everything better! She sent down a dehumidifier that work for only half of the space and was so loud we had to shut it off to sleep. The next morning I was back at the front desk and spoke to Adam. He made it very clear he could not help me. Told me to call on Tuesday to speak to a manager, We've been Marriott rewards members since the early 90's and I find this behavior appalling. Marriott - I hope you read this review and call me to discuss. I'm waiting.

Let just say I am pretty pissed 😡 staying here. This will be my first and last 3 days. From day one my room key was not working, had to walk back to the front desk and they told me the key card is very sensitive and I can't put it near my cell phone. Really? I know most of us travelers heard this before at other chained hotels as well and it's annoying. Where else can I put my keys and cell phone? To me they all go into my purse! Tonight is day 3 after a long day at work and my key is not working again, the front desk person acted like it was my fault, "you can't put it near your cell phone" he said.

Another issue I had was on the first night, the smoke alarm went off at midnight and woke me up! The front desk called and ask if I was smoking in the room. Yes I am offended with that question 😡 I am NOT a smoker and I was sleeping. I had to use a newspaper to fan the smoke alarm for the sound to be off. I asked the front desk why the alarm would go off like that and will it happen again? She said I hope not. Geez that makes me feel better now. And her explanation was sometimes the AC doesn't circulate the air appropriately and that sometimes set the smoke alarm off. Seriously? It's August in Florida!

I mentioned to the front desk the next day about the smoke alarm and why they would assume that I was smoking it the room. The answer was that's how they were trained to ask questions and that I should contact Marriott with it.

I would not stay here again because of room key issues and the smoke alarm may wake me up.

My first day experience at the hotel, I noticed there was a hole in the sofabed and pillows in place to try and hide it. Also the television wasn't properly working, by blinking in and out throughout the first night. My second day I had No Cable television at ALL it was VERY MISERABLE for myself, my husband and most of all MY DAUGHTER. The breakfast was awful, there was not much at all I arrived to eat at 7am. Not warm and not tasty at all. All the drinks were watered down and not good at all. 👎🏽👎🏽

Great price over a holiday weekend. We were in Room 308 for three nights during Memorial Day weekend. The room was comfortable, the AC worked very well. Housekeeping staff did an excellent job refreshing the room after our second night. Morning breakfast good with standard selections typical of most hotels that offer free breakfast. Will visit again, thanks!

Clean room, quiet location just a bit pricey and the room taxes (most likely due to airport proximity) were high. No complaints about the facility.

First time stayed at this chain. I usually stay at Residence Inn or Fairfield Inn. I did not like the SpringHill Suites and not coming back:

    1. The rooms smell bed, the first room we were in smelled like urine and I found urine on the toilet seat.
    2. The front desk were super friendly and moved me right away, but yet experiencing the urine smell and dirty toilet seat was shocking for a Marriott hotel. Again, the staff is great!!! The other bathroom still smells, but better than the first one.
    3. The double-bed rooms are small, barely enough space for 2 carry-on luggages. Fridge and kitchen sink are small, but yet good to have. Residence inn is more modern and has large appliances and full kitchen. Lots of space for luggage and to move around. If you are traveling with a family, it's really worth choosing Residence inn.
    4. 10 min drive to water-view restaurants on the bay. 20-30 min drive to Siesta key.

Hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. The room however felt humid unless I turned the ac all the way down to 60 and made the room too cold (being Floridian, anything less than 74 is cold). Once humidity was gone, it would return if I adjusted the ac back up. So for a week, I had to keep the room too cold in order to be comfortable and not feel muggy.
