We are currently staying at Somerset Suites in San Diego, CA. This is an older hotel, but very well maintained. Clean, bed is great, suites are nice with a stove, refrigerator and even dishwasher. Our room has everything we need for a comfortable 3 night stay. The pool is outdoors, only 3 ft. deep, perfect for children to play. Then there is a nice hot whirlpool next to the pool. Just lovely outdoor decor. Nice continental breakfast. They even have an outdoor grill for guest to use on the outdoor patio, which has plenty of tables and chairs for a family gathering. We are enjoying our stay.
Clean, inexpensive, wonderful staff. Could use some updating, but overall a good stay.
Excellent service, great prices, convenient location. Definitely coming back.
Great location! Nice rooms and excellent service!
Will book again

Great location right off the highway. The rooms were great for me and my four kids. Breakfast was nice. Enjoyed the pool (it's only 3'deep, so great for the little ones). Close to a bus stop I used to get to the trolly. The staff was FANTASTIC I can't say enough good things about all of them. Will be back again.
I mean, this is no 5--star hotel that's for sure. The facilities here are so-so, as are the beds. BUT, the staff is very nice and helpful, and the rates are cheap. The biggest plus to these suites are the LOCATION. It is adjacent to Hillcrest and you can walk to all the gay clubs.
Plus, the restaurants in the area are some of the best in SD, especially for brunch. And they have good shopping options too. And to be honest, you won't be spending much of your time in the hotel room anyways, so who cares how the actual room looks if the hotel is so close to everything else?!
