Our stay at La Quinta Old Town was great. The employees were all so nice, above and beyond nice. They arranged for us to get a special ride to the MCRD graduation because the shuttle service times didn't work out for us. We will definitely stay again if in the area.

This place was fantastic! They understand what it means to come see your son graduate from MCRD. Mercy is the G.M., she is a Marine. She and her staff made our stay almost effortless. This place is close to MCRD and the airport with easy access to the port to see the Midway and other attractions. Would I recommend? Oh yeah, you bet I would.

This was a great location if you are in San Diego for MCRD graduation. It's within 10 minutes if you care to walk from the hotel to one of the gates. You can also drive to the non secure parking area which only takes about 5 minutes. The hotel sits in Old Town. There is good shopping and tons of food choices there and it's an easy walk.

For a La Quinta, it was fine. The beds were comfortable and with six firm pillows, they get four stars, but I had to take one star away when we were surprised to learn the room doesn’t come with shampoo and conditioner. The poor tempted us there, but was out of service for cosmetic repairs. Will be lovely when they are done. Great, friendly service.

Staff was exceptional. Rooms and hotel was clean. Great location to visit Old Town San Diego. Pool was being remodeled during our visit 5-8 October. I was looking forward to a relaxing swim.I would visit tjis hotel again.

This hotel is awesome! Came to San Diego to see my son graduate from the Marines. It is so close to the Depot on base. The staff was always helpful. Special mention: Gina! We loved her. She is very good at her job.
I also loved the hotel because it is VERY dog friendly. We saw so many dogs. Loved it!
Rooms: We stayed in a two queen bed room with a roll away. Still room to move around. Always cleaned very well. Slept great.
Didn't use the pool, but the hot tub was nice.
Only thing I would change is extending the pool hours to 10 or 11.
One last mention: The shuttle guy was awesome. Can't remember his name but he was very helpful.
Definitely will stay here again!

It's horrible for the money! Better hotels in the area for less money. The breakfast was ok, fake scrambled eggs, soggy sausages. Best thing are the fresh waffles you make your self. The pool closes at 9pm, which is dumb considering you finished your day around 830pm at sea world or went to dinner at old town. 2 days, got in the pool on the morning of the day we left. For 30 minutes, just because I had to do it before getting out of here. Suggestion is, spend a little more and stay at a real hotel and not an upgraded motel.

The place is small but clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate us and were all very pleasant to deal with. The property is located about 100 feet from the interstate, but as we were on the back side we did not here any noise. It is about 10 minutes from shops and restaurants with fairly easy access. It was a good value for the money.

Friendly front desk checked me in quick and saved me money on my 6 night stay. Good pet policy and military friendly. Room had nice cold AC but the unit is a bit loud. Pool closes at 9pm which I thought was a bit early. Free breakfast in the morning was pretty good for being free. Powdered eggs, sausages, bagels, waffles, etc. Just wish the coffee was fresh not from a machine.

Have stayed at several of these hotels and this is by far the best. The rooms were very clean. The front desk had a smile and the rest of the hotel also was immaculate. Will be back soon

Has everything you need. I like how they have a refrigerator in the room as well as a microwave. I did not like how the bathtub was clogged up though. It's only about 10 minutes from the San Diego Zoo and has many beaches in close distance, so that's nice we'll see how the continental breakfast goes in the morning :)

clean, quiet, great location and proximity to amenities of the city! General Manager and staff were very nice and courteous. Parking was good and staff had some good recommendations for restaurants and attractions nearby. Good value.

I've been here multiple times and enjoyed every visit. Prices are very reasonable and the rooms are equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. A small table and chair is in the room for working. Its strange to mention that, but I've been in many hotels that lack a table to work on. The lobby has a decent selection of late night snacks, sandwiches and drinks you can purchase. Morning breakfast is awesome with all the variety of drinks like coffee, milk, juices and tea. Scrambled eggs and sausage is the norm along with pastries, bagels, and do-it-yourself waffles. parking is tight and if you have a modified vehicle (like lifted, large tires, or SUV luggage rack on top) you'r not gonna fit in the underground garage with the low ceiling. Outside and street parking is available though. Best of all is that its walking distance from Old Town.

We missed a return flight to Portland through no fault of our own, and needed to book for the night at the absolute last minute. Calling La Quinta's national service number from the terminal, the information they had was that we had missed the last shuttle to their hotel for the evening, but he did provide the local # Genna, the night attendant immediately called the driver and made arrangements to pick us up. Very polite, understanding, and efficient. First experience with La Quinta, but was amazed at room size, don't know if they are all this big, but even the ceiling must have been 13' high. The (nonsmoking) room was completely renovated, new everything (including flatscreen, fridge, microwave, coffee maker) and impeccably clean. Free breakfast had more options than we expected.
From a corporate standpoint, Genna should get big points for hustling a last minute booking in the off season --- and introducing us to La Quinta (one star off for slight road noise, very good sound insulation, but I'm super sensitive.)
