Nice classic 1920's vibe with the required upgrades to meet the standards of today like stove and an elevator modernized. View is ok. Top deck gives a nice 360 view of the area. I didn't like the required valet parking even though they had more than enough parking spaces.

Affordable suites by balboa park. Piano bar. Inn room kitchens available. Central location in San Diego. Nice historic building done right. Built in 1926, but up to date with amenities.

Wonderful hotel to stay at! Staff were very professional! Our hotel suite was decorated from the 1920's era from the furnishings to the bathroom. Our room had a private balcony where we could watch the sunsets over the bay.

Beautiful building adjacent to Balboa Park. Excellent views of the park and city skyline. Hotel staff are very nice. Ten minute walk to the Balboa museums and the zoo.
Problems I had were the constant ambulance sirens everyday, because there are several hospitals in the area. And the hotel beds are like sleeping on concrete.

This place has so much history!! It's tastefully decorated and the front staff go out of their way to assist you in any way possible. Our stay here was wonderful! They have the oldest working elevator in California, just thinking of all the history in that place and how many people stayed there is mind blowing. As a "heads up" the walls are thin so you will hear your neighbors and it must be located close to a firehouse because you will hear sirens from time to time.

Also, a negative is they push very hard to get you to do a timeshare meeting. They say they will do a "soft" credit pull to see if you are even able to get your "gift" but they did a "hard " credit pull and now trying to get ahold of someone to correct this has been awful! Just be aware.

Awesome staff very great location with a spacious suite, what more can you ask for at a great rate. I traditionally choose big name brands but found a great gem here, walk to the zoo, walk to Balboa Park walk to Hillcrest and easy parking.

A little piece of Park Avenue with palm trees. The designers of the recent reno knew what they were doing -- our room was beautiful, stylish and evocative. Quiet, quality linens, perfectly stocked kitchen, impeccable cleanliness in this former apartment residence. Friendly staff. Safe neighbourhood. Borrow some picnic and park gear for a walk in Balboa Park, including the new kids playground right across the street. $15 daily valet parking with unlimited in and out, instant service. Don't miss the sunset view from the rooftop.

Location was great. Central to beaches, sea world, zoo, everything within 15 mins. Lots of free parking across the street. Very helpful staff. Only complaint would be showerhead, had a Modern design with not enough pressure

The moment we entered the inn at the park, we were greeted by friendly staff. They took our names promptly and was very pleasant to speak with. Because this is a time share location and we were using our time share, we had to talk with the rep for a while even though we badly just wanted to go upstairs and refresh ourselves. But nonetheless the conversation was friendly. Our room was clean for the most part but they missed one small thing. There was a dirty towel left from the last tenant hidden behind the sofa. The room itself was large and spacious. Mirrors, mirrors everywhere, does help make the room seem more spacy, it's not small to begin with. The space is updated and the amenities in room are a plenty. Tall ceilings , crown moldings, they are trying to go for a contemporary retro feel? Valet staff are super friendly. It is close walking distance to a lot of things, the streets are poorly lit in some areas, but I did not feel unsafe. There is a 7-11 just across the street. I would definitely stay here again. Some draw backs are the parking and the noise. The parking is valet only, or you find your own street parking. Anything nearby is free from 6pm - 8am. Or else they are taken by the nearby apartment residents. You can hear airplanes flying by, and all the vehicles that go by if you get a room facing the major streets.

In the city and yet quieter than downtown. Right beside Balboa Park. The rooms all have kitchens, there is a workout room, a clean laundry room, and ample free parking in the surrounding area if you do not want to pay for valet only parking. Numerous restaurants and coffee shops close by. Upgraded but still retains the old charm.

We have stayed at Inn at the Park several times. We love it! Cute, old fashioned decor much of which is original, great location and great staff especially the parking attendants. All of these make for a very enjoyable stay.
