Our room was very big and nice for the price. It had a kingsize bed, kitchenette (no stove/hotplate) and livingroom with pull out bed. The location is very nice -right along a canal with boats moored up. A very 'florida' kind of scene. It was not particularly close to anything, so be prepared to drive to go eat or do things.

Having grown up here i'm biased. But the remolding looks fantastic. Pool is beautiful, and the tiki bar is great.

Room was acceptable, but could use some better lighting. Otherwise the stay went great until I found myself face to face with a behemoth cockroach who decided to chill in the bathtub as I took my morning dump. Additionally the door to our room seemed like it was on its last legs, one good shoulder bump and you'd be inside the room.

I had a great stay. Good value for money when you book early. It's tucked slightly away from US Highway 1. Room was big. I didn't use any of the facilities but they had a pool etc. Fast WiFi too.

Would definitely stay here again when I come down to the Keys.

The happy hour at the pool bar is phenomenal, $3 Well drinks were great! our view from our room, breathtaking with the boats and the waterway. thanks for a great time, Sombrero resort!

I know others have given this place a bad rep, but they've obviously renovated since (sorry didn't think to take pictures). My boyfriend and I had a room with two queen beds and a kitchenette almost as nice as the one in my apartment. We booked the second to last room available on the same day/night we were to stay or we would have taken a single king but at the last minute you take what you can get. We live in Miami so we had planned to drive back from Key West the same day but at the last minute decided to stay and drive home the next day.

Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. They had basic cable, I didn't really look for premium stations so I can't say about that. One of the nicest things is the front desk is open until 11pm and if you're not going to be there by then you can just call and let them know and they have lock boxes with key codes so you can show up when you show up and still get into your room. Not something you see a lot of in the Keys. Overall I enjoyed my experience there and would definitely recommend it to friends and stay there again.
