This is one the publicly known beaches in Key West. It's popular with the college set for spring break. Sail skiing, paddle boats. Boarding, even weddings on the beach by many people. Even small receptions to. Plenty of vendors parked along the road in front of the beach areas. A lot of the condo renters hang at the beach since they across from the beach.

One of the best if not the best beach in Key West. Decent sand and great southern exposure with scattered palms for shade. Doesn't match up with many east coast beaches in most ways other than it has a longer swim season. No waves in the Keys!

I love this beach as you will get free parking on the street in Key West only on this beach area. The beach is cool and you can enjoy for hours here as the beach is not that much crowded. Water is calm and beach is clean. But there is no public restroom on the beach. The food truck on the road is very famous to try.

Beautiful beach. We basically had our beach to ourselves. No bathrooms are there. Several young ladies were enjoying the sun way more than the other islands we went to. I didn't visit the other beaches while in Key West, but I liked what I seen at this one!

The sand feels like mud in the water. The beach also has a funky smell. Did some research and learnt that the sand is brought in from the Bahamas and other Caribbean islands. Wow! Waste! Drove down from Ft Lauderdale for the weekend and saw reviews that said this was the best public beach to see. Totally disappointed!

This beach was pretty gross the last time I went. It was pretty but smelled like redtide and the water looked gross. I'm sure it isn't much better with hurricane Irma so I will be back in the next year hoping to experience the real beauty. I was here years ago and would have given a higher rating. Nice soft sand (imported) and a wide beach. Offers lots of area to spread out and relax. As with the rest of the keys, there's no waves.

We love to park the car, watch the sunset and have a picnic. Although usually crowded in daytime hours, parking is plentiful and free. The beach is raked daily for litter and seaweed.
There are restrooms and outdoor showers although I suggest giving those a miss in early morning hours as they are usually full of homeless people.
There are 2 vendor carts on roadside offering cold drinks and Italian Ices (Duffy'sbeen there for a long time, good value), and another who sells kebabs (sorry do not know name).
The sidewalk that runs along the beach is very wide and well-paved, and actively used from dawn to dark for bike-riding, roller-blading, running and walking.
At one end of the beach Sunset Water Sports offer Kayak/Paddle Board Rentals, or you can reserve a parasailing trip. At the other end of the beach (on windy days) kite surfers use the easy access to the beach and plentiful parking, putting on a great show for the more sedentary types.
You could actually walk to the airport after a swim or have one while waiting between flights to the Caribbean Islands.
There are handicap-accessible cut-outs to get to the sand, however one would need a wheelchair with special tires to go further as the sand is soft.response / report this review -

The beach is clean and maintained well with white sand and blue water. Though the water has a dirty Odor and has lots of sea weed. Not a swimming beach though. Be clear that the water here has no waves. Just good to sit back and relax.

This is a really nice beach, and pretty long (for key west). There is often a lot of seaweed. I think they have machines that scoop away the seaweed every morning, but it keeps coming back all day long. It's still nice, but not one of those perfect sandy beaches with no seaweed. There's 1 bathroom building and a couple of randomly places shade huts with 1 old kind of dirty picnic table per hut.

Great beach! Not crowded at all. There are kiosks with rentals for kayaks and paddle boards. There was a good bit of coral in the ocean but the view was spectacular!

I went here one day, I was lucky enough to be entertained all day long by a group of young DJs who played great music. The beach is clean and beautiful, it remains in my opinion the best in Key West.

First, find a parking spot.
Then put sunscreen and be ready to enjoy a relaxing beautiful day by this amazing beach.
There are food trucks around but pricy, so bring your drinks/lunch/snacks from another place.
If you plan on drinking Alcohol, remember to cover it up because it is not permitted. I think a saw a sign that dogs are not permitted on the beach.
