It's a once-upon-a-time dorm that was converted to a modest and modesty priced hotel (when we book ahead). We go to NYC for a theater and museum weekend, and we always get a (tiny) two room suite with a fabulous unobstructed view of the river. The rooms are simple but clean. We like the quiet and pleasant neighborhood with many nearby non-chain restaurants. It's a great family-friendly base from which to enjoy the city. The staff are always pleasant and attentive.

Old hotel in a good neighborhood on Upper West Side. Close to Central Park & American Museum of Natural History. Not luxurious but it is inexpensive and in a quiet area. Views of Hudson River. We stay here regularly and it works well for us. Rooms have mini fridge and microwave.

We live in Montana, but our daughter lives on the upper West side. We always stay at the Riverside Tower, and have for years. In the rare case that we don't get reservations in time, and they are full, we feel really bummed. It feels like home to us. We love the location, the vibe, and the people running it. Highly recommended.

People were amicable and helpful, but the place is slightly old. More or less what you'd expect to get if you're looking into staying in Manhattan on a budget. Yet all the basics are there, and very convenient to head to the subway. Also, there are many attractions nearby, Central Park is just a walk away!!

Great location, lovely staff, but rooms are tiny and shabby although very clean. We had a suite of two rooms for four of us and the double bed room was so tiny with no room for our suitcases or to be able to sit down. Lots of hot water and soap etc. There was not anywhere to get a drink like advertised in their write up. The windows are draughty. We paid extra for a river view but in autumn the trees obstruct any view of the river but winter time would be great for that. Lots of diners and restaurants close by and close to buses and subway. Good value for money if you don't have claustrophobia. The non suite rooms are larger, with a single bed and a trundle beneath and a table with two chairs
We should have gone for two of those.

Four stars for location and price. Hudson River view available, across from Riverside Drive. Three blocks from 79th Street subway. Small rooms but great if you need a quick, economical getaway シ

I wasn't sure what to expect since it's way cheaper than other hotels here but I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great and in a safe area. The staff was very nice. It's small and older but was great for the price. I loved the New York feel of it. I would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

Rooms are small and kinda quirky but it's a great deal to stay here. The staff is always friendly and helpful.This is not my first time staying here while visiting the city and it probably won't be the last.

Cutest little rooms! Perfect place to sleep and spend most of your day exploring nyc. Beds are surprisingly comfortable. People are very nice!

Staff is so wonderful. Great rates especially for the area. My only complaints are there was no ice machine and the water temperature while in the shower was all over the place.

The shower's water temperature was lukewarm, while the sink had hot water. Staff was indifferent. I checked out a day early, and was pleased that the staff refunded my remaining night.

The tiny rooms are worn. The rooms are so small your bed is against the hallway wall and you hear everything.

Small rooms, no-frills but clean. Friendly, professional staff. Easy walk to #1 subway line and Zabar's. Terrific value for a Manhattan hotel.

Stayed here for six nights.
Lets be honest here, hotels in NCY are VERY expensive.
This hotel is very good for the price and a budget.
I had en-suite in a small single room and it was clean quiet and in a good location with friendly staff.
I was only using the room to sleep in and watch the evening news as like most tourists I was out all day.
I can honestly say I loved it. I could even go for a stroll at the Riverside Park nearby and watch the ships on the Hudson River.
