I originally planned on giving this place a higher review my first day there, as I paid 65$ a night, and I was in downtown, so I didn’t consider it bad for the price, I asked the guy in the front for a wakeup call, (actually 3 because I told him I don’t wake up easily) and I didn’t even get one I checked into this hotel because I needed to study. And at home wasn’t getting it done, by day 2 I couldn’t take the noise anymore. The music from every boat passing by, the clubs in the area, and thin walls which allow you to hear everything your neighbors are doing and saying till 3 am. Even at 3x the price I would pay to go to the Marriott. If this is all you can afford, than it wasn’t horrible, but bring a great set of earplugs, if you happen to have crappy neighbors.
The 2 stars i would give to this hotel would be for its excellent location in heart of downtown Miami beside Miami river and the affordable prices. Otherthan that the reception was not that courteous here nor was the room service. My safety lock was broken which was never repaired even after I complained. There would be flyers pushed into rooms. Check in time is 3pm on the dot. If you reach even 1 hr before you either pay 25$ or keep your stuff at their baggage room( one good thing i liked). Breakfast spread was the worst with hardly 2-3 options. In short if you are short on budget in downtown Miami, this is your place.
Needed a relatively inexpensive hotel to stay in for a few days. Did not have any of the nightmare situations that other reviewers had. Overall the hotel room was relatively clean. The rooms are slightly worn down and it is quite evident in the bathroom. The knobs for the sink and the shower do not really adjust the water temperature and the toilet clogs very easily. Also the customer service was not the most friendly/helpful at the front desk. In short though, you get what you paid for: a 2-star, older, and slightly worn down hotel with poor customer service in the heart of downtown Miami.
Location was good - downtown and close to port. Tried calling from the airport but no one answered. Reserved a room with three beds but were told on arrival no such room exists. Tried to call front desk from the room several times, and again, nobody answered. Some of the features are nice, like the tile in the bathroom shower. Room was spacious, but beds were uncomfortable and mattresses worn out -- had to sleep on an angle to get comfortable. We were disgusted by the lack of cleanliness and condescending, unhelpful attitude of staff did nothing to improve our impression. With a good cleaning, dinner Brew carpet and paint, this could be a decent place to stay.
Hotel is at nice location. Metromover ∧ restaurants are in vicinity. Opposite to Miami tower. Not far away from many tourist attractions. Allays asked for a river view room. Also check wifi in room as mine was not working and after continuous follow for three days, problem not resolved. In addition, AC had auto off system and it cannot run more than 15 minute. Only fan kept running while compressor stopped. If you face same issue, just off the AC and restart after 30 seconds. Remaining services are good.
Absolutely horrible hotel,by far the worst hotel I have stayed at. The rooms come with a warning signs of scammers. The walls have stains and holes, the bed is uncomfortable and you can feel the springs when you lay down. Oh, and the sheets? Stained brown. We checked in and checked out within the same hour to go stay elsewhere. The Miami Hilton is the same base price and it is 100000000 times better
1 of my Best experiences. Room was immaculate and very spacious. Excellent staff. Highly Recommend
Long waiting to check in. $25 valet service. Super hot in the lobby. Continental breakfast not the best. Location hum.. great for vacationers, but if you are a local, forget it about it. The rest..very good
For the price you are getting a decent accommodation very close to downtown. All these rooms are largely run down, they're not the cleanest floors and this is an old hotel where everything is heavily used. The toilet seat in my bathroom was broken while the sofa the armchair and the working desk chairs had terrible stains and we're nasty and disgusting that you would not want to sit on. Staying here you get a closer feeling of the experience of an 'upscale' motel rather than a hotel.
You have deceptive control over the cooling so don't expect a blasting cool air conditioner in any of your rooms no matter how low you set it.
I do not recommend staying here. The rooms were clean and the accommodations were fine, but outdated. I had to ask for an ironing board for two days during the course of a 3 night stay. Each time I requested an ironing board I was told it would be brought to my room. I contacted the front desk at least 5 times with this request and went once in person. Finally, I was charged a $50 fee after paying prior to our stay online. Each time I called to inquire about the charge I was told the manager was not available. There are other places close by that are less convenient, that run more efficiently and that won't apply mysterious fees after your stay.
I stayed here with my wife and 4 kids in mid June for few nights while on a 3,500 miles road trip. The hotel itself was ok, just a little dated. However the valet service offered by the hotel is terrible, I paid $25 a day for them to park in a unsecured lot right under a highway over pass.
The morning I went to check out, I walked outside to let the valet know I was going to be leaving in the next 20 minutes. He responded " Oh my friend, the guy that worked last night was waiting for you to come down. Someone broke into your car last night. He made a police report for you and we pulled your car to the side by the hotel." Someone had broken my back passenger window, they was shattered glass all over my back seat when my kids sit. The valet had my room number and the hotel he my cell number, I didn't leave my room all night. But somehow I was never contacted about the damage done to my car. I ask the valet if they had something I could use to clean the glass out of my car. The valet said they did not have anything and I should ask the hotel. I got the same story from the young man at the front desk, so I proceeded to ask for a manager. Who looked me Dead in the face and told me no. I had to ask him to get in contact with the general manager before anyone would even give me a plastic bag The general manager arrived shortly after the phone call. The general manager was very nice and understanding to the situation and proceeded to have two hotel maintenance employees vacuum out my car and clean the blood from the side of my door. He said to me that this was becoming a problem in that lot and that the city police needs to do something about it. He also mentioned that my car was the 3rd car broken into in the past month and that the last car was also from out of state.
There was no offer to replace or repair the damage. No one wants to except responsibility for the damages. Luckily my insurance covered everything except for a $100 deductible and a rental car for two days totaling $65 I'm not even asking for $200 or anything extra for wasting my time, only what I'm out of pocket. It's unbelievable, the hotels response was to have my lawyer contact there lawyer.
Don't stay here and if you do don't use the Valet service.
Not a good experience. The rooms are not very ckean. The TV did not work.we had to get maintenance. The AC does not work. In Miami it would be nice ti have air. . There is No Ice in the building..i am not a happy camper to say the least.
The location is decent, although parking can be a challenging as it is valet only. There are a few surface lots nearby but not a lot of 24-hour parking options. The beds in the room sufficed but this place should be more 2 star vs 3 star location. The staff were responsive to guest requests. Quaint hotel, more out of convenience vs quality stay.
Horrible horrible hotel. No fridge or microwave in suite. Only one towel set. Service is bad. On top of that, it is $5 for a microwave. And my friend got bit by a big ass bed bug. Will never ever stay here again. Stay away from this hotel. Pics below of my friend's bug bite.
HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, STAY AWAY!!! BED BUGS & HAIR DRYER WENT INTO FLAMES!!! STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!! I stayed here last week and I regret even considering this as an option. Booking last minute and it being the cheapest hotel in the Miami area, I took a chance and went with it. First thing, the $25 valet parking you must pay. Upon entering, you notice the outdated, run down hotel environment. It almost looked as they haven't remodeled in over 50 years. Aside from that, we had a large room on the 8th floor with a nice view of Downtown Miami. But, then upon entering the room, I noticed a leftover toothbrush, the phone was half broken, the TV did not work (ended up calling the technician), and the room did not seem clean. I did not mind at first since i knew what I was paying for.
The bed bugs. I woke up the next day with a couple red bug bites, super itchy. Ridiculous. Bed bugs in a hotel in Miami?! I was furious at this moment. Next, the hair dryer. I went to go turn it on and in seconds I started to smell it burning and smoke coming out of it as it went on fire. I quickly made sure the hair dryer was put out, went downstairs and checked out. I told the front desk receptionist what had happened and he simply said "oh okay". What kind of establishment is this?! This hotel lacks basic cleaning skills, a responsive staff and needs to be checked on by the local health inspector. So just trust me and spend your money at another hotel with a better experience.
