The overall look of the hotel is beautiful. The staff is friendly and the pool is just perfect. If you like beach activities, this is the place to be as they own part of the beach.
The staff is really nice considering that they upgraded my room as the bed was dirty. If you are in Miami with a decently large budget, this is definitely the place to stay.

Fun place with lots of amenities, but they nickel and dime you for everything. An umbrella on the beach is $25, an iced coffee is $7.50, and a strawberry daiquiri is $23!

Housekeeping also left a lot to be desired. There was literally the previous guest's toenails all over our floor when we checked in. We called housekeeping and they sent someone to vacuum but we found more toenails the next day! Ughhhh. The front desk compensated us by removing our room fees, but still- for a 5-star hotel no one should have to deal with that. Disgusting!

Last thing- there were lots of smokers at the hotel, including people who smoked at the kiddie pool! Pretty gross and the hotel staff didn't say anything to them.

Overall though, it's a very kid-friendly hotel and they provide a baby bathtub and shampoo for your little one (in addition to a crib), which is very nice. The hotel is in a great location, and despite the smoking, poor housekeeping, and overpriced ridiculousness it's still worth checking out.

Paid a fortune this holiday season for a stay at the hotel. Can't even get a seat at the pool starting at 8 am, beach is the same issue. Don't bother coming here. Overpriced and service is disappointing. Waste of money.

Just spoke with the manager. He suggested that i split my kids up and go to different pools because the kids pool has a lifeguard. What a great recommendation. Avoid this hotel.

To make a long story short we decided to take a road trip for Thanksgiving this year and ended up making a reservation for a few days at the resort. This was after my wife spoke to a staff member who assured her it was a very family friendly hotel and there were a handful of amenities that would cater to children. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the courteous valet and bellhop. The hotel was beautiful and we were very excited. We had been traveling all day so we went to grab a bite to eat, apparently our travel clothes weren't posh enough and earned us less than stellar service, the pizza was very good though. Next we attempted to take our son swimming only to find out that the pools closed at dusk, it was about 7 pm at the time I believe. Upon inquiring as to why, the lady told us, it's so drunk people don't jump in the pool, among some other reasons. This was very upsetting but we were going to try and make it work anyway. So we stopped by the concierge to see what we could get into, since the pools were closed, remember the lady on the phone assured us this was a family friendly resort. He politely says, with a two year old, nothing. That was his answer, NOTHING. I went back to the front desk and politely asked to just check out as this is clearly not a place for a family, mind you this all took place in about two hours time. We were not trying to get over on the hotel, or make some fuss about the price. We asked to be checked out and refunded our money, which seemed very fair considering we had only been there about two hours and were grossly mislead. Perhaps we should've done more research but I think a little compassion on their end would've been the right thing to do. We will not be back, with or without children.

Me and my girlfriends had the best spa day here! The staff was so friendly, they were always there to help with any needs and provide us with reminders on when our next treatment was starting! The pool and lounge area were well maintained and the snack room was perfect. We were able to go to the hotel pool and bar as well to kill some time. Overall great experience!

I was just visiting. But the hotel was super nice and very clean. Great valets. I didn't see a room, but I understand they were just as impressive as the outside. I would definitely stay at this hotel.

We always have a wonderful time. Absolutely amazing spa. Great beach views. Clubby bar in the lobby. Definitely our only choice when visiting Miami.

I wish I could rate this place 0 stars. Sure, the rooms and restaurants are nice, but you can't sneeze in this place without being charged for it. They have weighted refrigerators so if you touch something for more than 10 seconds, you're charged--which leaves you stuck with the option of filling your sink with ice to keep anything cold. Because that's what you want to do when you pay $2K for a week's vacation is slum it like you're on a senior trip. Then there's the ambiguous rental policies on basically anything outside but some chairs (I said some..that's right, not all chairs are complimentary). No worries, folks, you can rent a shaded cabana for only a small fee of $500 a day. No signs telling you that they need reserved, first you sit down in them and get kicked out. It's part of the fun and the excitement that Fontainebleau provides. Overall, if you have so much money that you could literally burn it and not miss it, this place is for you!

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels and resorts in major cities and by far we loved this resort the most and look forward in returning soon! The architecture is amazing as it feels timeless and rich in its history it holds. The night life is superb and so are the restaurants and bars! Being that this is a 5 star luxury hotel, you get what you pay for. Thanks

This is a super nice resort. The best part of Miami Beach. It is so live and moving. The Central space next to the beach is awesome. The rooms that tension everything just great. If you're coming to Miami Beach this is probably one of the best places you can be

The lobby was beautiful and jaw dropping. With several interesting and lucrative stores to check out it's easy to see why the hotel is so highly rated. The service was quick and efficient. Our room was very nice although on the small side for a two bedroom. It was not very sound proof and I often heard people talking in the walkways outside of our room and it made me a bit uncomfortable. The experience was all around amazing.

The hotel was a huge dissapointment. I couldn't wait to leave!! The staff are not accommodating or experienced when it comes to hospitality. There was not an ounce of relaxation by the pool or beach because you had to basically fight for assistance for a towel, chair, drink etc. I stayed at this hotel years ago and it has changed drastically and because of that the crowd is much different now too, classless and rude and management knows it because I've complained my entire trip especially after having our belongings STOLEN at the pool. It is overpriced for the service and quality you receive. You do not even get a coffee pot in your room without paying an additional $20 a day plus $6 delivery fee and 20% service charge!! They stack the fridge in your room so you can not use it for your own beverages. There's only three small drawers so you can barely unpack yourself and "feel at home". Do not waste your time or money.. stay at 1 hotel south beach where you get what you pay for because this place is a disgrace - I will NEVER come back.

Posh spot! First, we were mesmerized by the swimming pools. The pool water temperature is far too warm for lap swimming but it's great for lounging. It's too bad that the pools start closing down at 6 pm! It was disappointing to discover that there is a charge to sit at the prime spots around the pools. Another option for swimming is the Atlantic Ocean. It seems silly that they charge an additional $25 for a beach umbrella. Second, restaurants and bars are very expensive but hey, if you can afford to pay for a room here, you won't care about the exorbitant prices of food and drink. Finally, the customer service, for 90% of our stay, was exceptional! At times, we were treated like VIPs and we would certainly recommend this hotel to friends with a big budget who were looking for something away from the hectic scene in South Beach.

Thrilled with everything about my stay here. The room and view were phenomenal. Pools and service was great. The hotel was up to date and the room service was excellent. Will come back many times. A+
