Let me start by saying the good about the place ( the staff). Employees were very nice and the costumer service was great. However, if you are like me that I am very sensitive to smells. These rooms have very strong smells ( old, humidity, and pet odor ). I asked the front desk to change rooms for me and I smelled three different rooms to see if changing to other room will solve my situation. But, all of the rooms had the same strong smell attached. I finally had to sleep at a friend's coach and paid for the room. After I get back home, the smells were in my suitcase and all the clothes that were inside my suitcase.
I am surprise that any previously review has not mention this issue.response / report this review -

Great hotel located in the heart of Coconut Grove. Clean rooms with a very professional staff. I recommend this place to any family coming into town. Especially those with pets.

Nice rooms with a kitchen, living room, bathroom, separate sink and mirror, and queen bed. Kitchen had utencils, plates, cups, bowls, dishwasher, stove top, microwave, drip coffee machine, and toaster. Refrigerator with freezer and ice maker. TVs in living room and bedroom. Shower with great water pressure and two settings. Great location within a half mile of tons of restaurants and bars. Parking garage under hotel. Only gripe is the rooms could use some sort of way to play music from mobile devicds.

Dated hotel with large rooms in great location. If you are looking for a Florida resort to spend time at the pool, this is not your place. If you plan on driving around Miami, and want a good central base, to grab a dinner in the area, with a fridge and a quiet room, this is your place.

+ walking distance from lot of good restaurants, bars, park
+large rooms in good shape
+breakfast better than average Residence In
+easy drive to miami beach and key Biscayne
Minus
- facility is dated, sort of miami 70s..it feels old
- many rooms' doors face the outside
- the swimming pool is tiny..not really a place that you want to spend the day at

From the moment we checked in the staff was friendly, courteous and engaging. The hotel was quiet and the rooms perfect. We stayed on property for our entire visit utilizing the pool, bar, and premier restaurants. The food was exquisite and the wait staff engaging and on point. The entire hotel was clean. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
