The horror! This hotel is an insult to the Hilton brand name. I stay with Hilton hotels almost all the time and this is by far the worst one among them. I had booked 4 nights here and I was welcomed to a pee-stained toilet seat on day 1. I called front desk only to be assured of immediate cleaning (and not even an apology) but the cleaning service didn't show up until I called again after 10 mins. Then I kept discovering more horrors as my stay progressed. Roaches in the room, unclean bath tub, hair strands on bed sheets and random valet parking charges even when I didn't even have a car - this has got to be the most mismanaged DoubleTree I have visited. After screaming at the front desk, they asked me to contact their manager through an email ID and I did but that just fell on deaf ears. The hotel staff's indifference speaks louder than the loudest thing you would have heard. It's better to sleep in airport terminal than to pay and stay here.
Clean hotel. Good bed and bedding. Friendly staff. The lunch buffet was awesome. Fresh and very well seasoned. The deserts were moist and perfectly sweetened. Lunch was definitely the best hotel food I've had. Very impressed with this place.
The staff is really nice. You can tell that generally this is/ once was a nice hotel. It is in need of some tlc and a thorough cleaning. The lobby was clean but everywhere else needed to be deep cleaned. The walls had stains, the bed skirt had a stain that didn't look new. The shower and soap dish wasn't cleaned well. The towels werent replaced properly. There were two bath towels, and one wash cloth. The little pad of paper that they leave on the desk was folded up in the corners like someone had previously had it in their pocket. These are just a few things that I noticed. Overall it was alright but not worth $130+ per night. Some attention to detail is definitely needed.
Hotel was immaculate! There were a lot of stores inside it, the only part that was very strange is the hotel was hosting an amazing BARBER BATTLE event but when I walked in the hotel the staff at the front desk didn't know what to tell anyone as if they had no information on it or direction where it was in their hotel, so I had to find it myself due to stumbling upon other people who were looking for it as well. The Barber battle was awesome though. I give the Double Tree 3 stars due to that but I don't know what a stay is like there.
I was very impressed with this hotel. The decor was nice, the room was large and decorated beautifully. The problem was when we got to our room, a hotel worker knocks on the door to "check" if everything is ok. My husband says yes. A few minutes later another knock on the door. A different worker asking the same thing. I thought, maybe should put the do not disturb sign up. So my husband goes down to the lobby to meet the person delivering our food and there is a knock on the door. I thought it was my husband. I'm in my pajamas and go to get the door, when a different worker opens our hotel room door with her key! She apologizes and 2 minutes later the phone rings and the girl at the front desk is claiming we are in the wrong room. So I text my husband, who is in the lobby to go to the front desk. It was their error, and they apologized. But, I DID put the do not disturb sign on the door at that point, and wondered, why wasn't this problem addressed at the first disruption? We were very annoyed and felt intruded upon. But the hotel was nice.
Not to shine about my life but I am well traveled and know very well levels of customer services at domestic and international hotels.
I booked a night at Double Tree at 711 NW 72nd AVE Miami last minute, after reviewing many other choices in downtown Miami, since I thought I knew the services was going to be the same as other DTree hotels in the states.
Well, there was only one guest talking to one front desk representative by the name Jose, I decided to stay right in front of the desk in the center, giving space to the guest that was being taking care of.
Suddenly, another representative came out and laughed couple times to other coworkers, posed in front of the computer, I even tried to make eye contact but he completely ignored me, then a lady got behind the first guest talking to Jose, the other representative called her and took care of her, right after Jose was done with the guest also, and I asked to the two: is any one going to ask me if I need anything? since I am standing in front of your desk Not Jose, but the other representative said: oh well you standing in the wrong spot. Oh lord!!! I mean they did not have nobody else behind me or the other guest that was talking to Jose. And just because I was in the "wrong" spot I was TOTALLY IGNORED by this front desk "customer service representative" Like my money or my reservation was not worthy at all ALL BECAUSE I WAS ON THE WRONG SPOT but yeah, I was totally in front of him when he came out twice and laughed and posed and let another person in front of me like I did not exist !!!
Thanks you for the experience Mr I do not know your name. and thank you Jose for keep apologizing for some one's else lack of professionalism, respect and appreciation of business.

Great service, rooms are clean and and well maintained. Vallet parking staff is very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone whether they staying in Miami for business or pleasure, alone or with family. BTW great cookie u get when u check in, food thing u can always ask for an extra one :)
I was down in Miami as a first responder to hurricane Irma. I was assisting in power restoration. The double tree was able to provide extremely last minute rooms and they had the foresight and preparations to have a diesel generator powering the hotel while everyone was still without power. I can't speak for the price since my company paid for the rooms, but there staff was warm and welcoming and the facilities we're very comfortable. The pillows are very soft, despite the fact that I prefer a very firm pillow, they are nice. It's one of the comforts of homes. The WiFi was easy enough to connect to and seemed reliable enough. I hope the next time I come here it won't be because a hurricane had devestated the area.
Bed was very comfortable and rooms were nice. We had to wait over 45 minutes at the airport and the hotel would not answer any of the 4 times we called to check on where the driver was. Shuttle was able to take half our group and left the other half waiting on the sidewalk at the airport. While we were in the lobby checking in, the driver was walking around and just chit-chatting with the valet driver instead of getting our other team. He finally went to get them after I confronted him. The rest of our team arrived after almost an hour and a half of waiting.
Rooms need to be renovated. Executive lounge not stocked. Appears to be a nice place from outside and in the lobby, but rooms are not up to Hilton or DoubleTree standard.
Booked a suite and upon entering the room quickly realized multiple things were out of place and the room wasn't clean. Talked to the front desk to try and get another room of the same size, and they didn't have any available in that size so they downgraded me. When asked if they could refund me the price difference they said they couldn't as I booked through Travelocity. I contacted Travelocity who said they had to contact the hotel. Eventually they did and my request for a partial refund of some type was turned down. The shuttle was convenient, but otherwise our stay was very pricey and uncomfortable for what we got out of it. Additionally we ordered food from one of the places with a flyer slipped under the door which was extremely underwhelming. As out of towers it would have been nice if Double Tree at least validates the quality of the businesses they allow to slip flyers into the rooms.
My personal experience was okay, but others in my group had a bad experience. Our event host messed up their reservation, and even though there were definitely extra rooms still in our discounted block, the hotel still charged them and unnecessarily exorbitant price for their rooms. It left a really bad taste in our mouths for the entire weekend!
Everything is great except for the parking. Vendors not being allowed to exit to get food without paying a reentry fee to park again is very annoying to me. It's not expensive but when you are already paying hundreds of dollars to sell at their facility which brings people in for them to charge more people for parking. I feel they could allow reentry for vendors. Just a thought.
Room is large and the beds are comfy. Pillows are crap, but you get what you pay for. The bathrooms are a little moldy, but nothing too disgusting. Parking is supposed to cost money, which is BS given the cost of the hotel, but it was unmanned the day we checked in, so win for us, I guess.
Lobby is fancy and the front desk was polite and helpful.
The pre-authorization on my card is nonsense. Don't charge me and then refund it. Freaking charge me for what I use. Pre-authorization is never necessary.
Overall it's a nice stay and a good hotel, just be aware of what you're getting.
