The rooms were beautiful the lobby was nice. The hotel was very pretty inside with the rooms facing an inside courtyard like area. For the price tho I would have expected better service. You have to pay $14 a day for internet service unless you're a rewards member so I'd recommend you sign up before your stay. Also the lobby offered no free coffee or free breakfast. Really?
The Hotel itself is very nice and the rooms are spacious. Some have great views, as ours did.
The restaurants are not great at accommodating plant based eaters / vegans, most dishes are meat heavy. There are a few salads that you can fall back on in a pinch. We bought some fries to tide us over as a snack, but they tasted fairly meaty, so probably a shared fryer.
My family and I had a nice stay at the hotel. The first valet guy, I think his name was Robbie, was awful!! He was so rude! He called my mom a mute. However, after reporting this on our first night the next three nights were great. Collin was an amazing help at valet. He was super nice and quick. There was also a friendly tall man that worked the desk early (4 a.m.) in the morning who was very helpful and attentive. The rooms are clean, and the spacious. They had several updates.
The check-in staff were extremely friendly, especially Ali who really went above and beyond. I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and the staff has noticeably improved. The Signature Suite was very spacious and quiet. Food at the hotel was very good. The valet parking staff was very fast and friendly.
An amazing experience so far and its only been 1 evening! The concierge was perfectly accommodating, the front desk staff were professional yet friendly and the management was humbly attentive. Everything was beautiful as though it was an ad for pottery barn meets pier one--funky yet tasteful. The gym could use more equipment but it has the bare basics for a workout. Located within a shopping center with everything within walking distance. Definately worth the stay. Highly recommend!
DO NOT STAY HERE!
The hotel is nice but the staff is horrible. Nobody speaks English. The cafe never has cream for the coffee nor can you ever find anyone to assist, or a waitress / waiter when you want a refill.
Maid service sucks. By 6pm, we had to call downstairs to get our room clean. Asked the attendant for an extra luggage rack. He said, "sure." In 3 days, that never happened.
THE WORST was at the loading dock. There was a vulgar man screaming at this one poor driver. The guy was trying to explain to the hotel loading dock staffer that he did not park the truck but had no problem moving it as his boss gave him a key. The staffer was at such a high pitch rage level, he never heard the poor driver.
Finally, a Sioux chef comes out and calmly asks the driver to move to a different spot which seemed to resolve the whole problem. I was glad to see the poor driver bark back at the staff butt-hole. I was also glad the Sioux Chef stepped in for that poor driver.
MANAGEMENT MUST SUCK TO HAVE ALL THESE ISSUES IN ONE HOTEL.
They try hard but they have issues.
The room has no drawers in which to put your clothing (I was here 3 nights) so I could not unpack fully, there is no place in the bathroom to hang your hand towel (only a hook behing the door for ALL towels used by 2 people), blinds in room do not fully close so light filters in in the AM, the A/C is really hard to control either too cold or nothing, despite the thermostat reading. Tried to get a spoonful of bleach to clean a stain (not on clothing or the room) but they would not give it to me due to some internal policy. They could have tried to work with me to understand what I needed and, together, maybe find another solution. The idea of solving a customer problem appears not to be on their menu. I had to rush at midnight, on foot, to the nearest grocery store before they closed to buy bleach.
Pillows are fancy made out of feathers but hard as a rock when they get compressed. I asked for foam ones maybe I will get them tonight.
Punch line despite their trying, they will not be my first choice of place to stay the next time.
Rooms were very nice. The open atrium is breath taking as well. Strayed there for a conference and all of the food was pretty good as well. Didn't like how they crammed us into the large conference rooms though for the key note sessions. I felt like we were packed in like sardines. Other than that is definitely recommend staying here.
The hotel is very luxurious and elegant. The room was clean and the view from the balcony was awesome. The outdoor is wonderful to explore as it is located near the woods and in the middle of a shopping center.. you got to see it. Worth the price.
Oh yeah! Very clean, very nice with a huge atrium which maybe a bit much for some. Lots of shops and eats within walking distance. Clean and modern rooms of decent size, but just a small refrigerator. Great service with smiles!
Clean and decorated nicely. The only reason why the hotel gets 4 stars is the pool. It's fairly evident that this hotel was renovated, but little if anything was done to the pool. Austin gets so hot during summer and this pool doesn't make you want to dive in. The location is phenomenal there are dozens of stores and restaurants nearby and downtown Austin is only 15 minutes away. The parking is a little cramped, but free!
Room service was very polite. They helped us set up the sleeper sofa and gave us almost every single request. There was one point when we asked for room service but it was very late at night. They didn't fulfill that request, but we do understand that it was late. The room was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated.
The Renaissance is your average hotel, yet it costs like its better. Guests might be lucky enough to park in the front and not have to pay. The parking garage costs. The rooms are clean and room service was helpful. The hotel is close to a shopping mall and some restaurants which is convenient. The TV has cable and Netflix which is great.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around
My parents were visiting Austin from out of state and booked a room in this hotel. I just visited and spent time at the pool and bar. The hotel is really nice, definitely the best in the area. The pool is a tad small, and chairs were in high demand. It's a beautiful area though. We enjoyed some cocktails and the service was great. No poolside service, but there is a lovely deck/lounge area nearby.
