Rooms need updating but it was okay. We had to have add water to the hut tub. It's right 7n the middle of town on the water and has a beach with a fire pit. They provide wood which was nice. Our last day there they made us change room. The lady at the desk wrote our reservation wrong and had us leaving a day earlier but put us in another room. A water view and a balcony. The breakfast was pretty good with hot and cold foods but two days in a row we had to go across the street to another hotel for breakfast. The price was better that anywhere else. It was quiet since all the kids have started back to school.

We stayed at this hotel Sept 2017 and were very disappointed. The staff was very unfriendly and made us feel like we were a burden. The rooms were dated except for the granite bathroom vanity which may have been newer. Room was musty smelling and shower current smelled like a dirty wash cloth. The beach was littered with cigarette butts right in front of our unit. There was broken lounge chairs laying around and the sand was not groomed at all. The last straw was when we when to use the computer room to print our boarding passes we were told that the Router was stolen and computer wasn't working. Staff was unapologetic and quite frankly rude. We then packed our bags and left a day early.

Front desk staff was friendly and helped us change rooms so we would not have to move during our stay. The room was made up well every day. The room itself was very nice and well equipped. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast tasty, always hot, and well stocked with friendly staff. Only two small concerns. The first was that our hand towels were not replaced each day so, our last day we used a wash cloth (not a huge deal) and the freezer in the micro-fridge was almost frozen solid. I am sure most people don't even use it but, we wanted to refreeze our ice packs for our cooler. I look forward to another visit to the Ramada Mackinaw in the future.

Great place to stay. Every one is courteous . Our room is clean and smells fresh, so do the hallways. The breakfast bar is very small so was the breakfast room . I didn't mind . Every thing was fresh.

Pros: Right next door to Ferry dock. Within walking distance to many restaurants. Nice lake view. Hot/cold complimentary breakfast. Comfy beds. Has a pool and hot tub. Friendly staff.
Cons: Room wasn't the cleanest (found second remote stuck between headboard and mattress). Bed was short sheeted because bed was made with sheets/blankets sideways. The hot tub was actually TOO hot to enjoy and the railing by the steps was removed with the braces still in the floor, hazard.response / report this review -

I traveled with a group of 25 to this hotel for a one-night stay on 5/13/2017. The actual rooms were clean and some of the fixtures and decorations looked new. The beds were comfortable.
The hotels rooms had lakefront views with patio doors that provided a wonderful view of the sunrise. We loved that! However, most of us did not venture to open the patio doors because of the abundance of mosquitos or some type of small bug that clung to the screen doors. I wished there had been a way to spray for those bugs.
This review is mostly a warning to those booking for groups. My group was made up of middle and high school aged students with adult chaperones. It was important for us to know what activities were available to us and any necessary paperwork that would be required ahead of time. I must have called the Ramada and Bridge Vista Beach Hotel five times each prior to our arrival, beginning with the initial reservation at the Ramada that was made on March 17, 2017.
There was a misunderstanding about the waivers for the waterpark we wanted to attend, despite the fact that I called numerous times trying to get this scenario ironed out. At the end of the day, after speaking to hotel desk representatives, the manager Scott at Bridge Vista Beach Hotel admitted that the wrong waivers had been sent to us. He offered for us to sign another waiver and move our group over to the waterpark that we really wanted to attend. By that time we decided it wasn’t worth the time because our group was headed to dinner and other places. P.S. I now have copies of both waivers. The only difference in the waivers is the name of the companies being indemnified. There is no way I would have known I had the wrong waiver mailed to me. I thought there was only one waiver since we had been told that both waterparks were open to guests who stayed at hotels in Mackinaw City. My suggestion: There should be only one waiver that names all related facilities.
We requested no rooms on the first floor but ended up with first floor rooms. We are not really sure why though. We also requested lakefront rooms. Maybe that had something to do with it. Although, the hotel did not appear to be full as evidenced by the vacancy sign that was lit.
Breakfast was served across the street on the third floor of the Crown Choice Inn. They said the kitchen at the Ramada was under construction. We saw the kitchen area. It did not appear that any work was being done at all while we were there. It looked more like they planned to not staff it for now.
Just as one other reviewer wrote, the lobby did close. Both the lobby entrance doors from the outside and inside of the hotel were locked at midnight. No one could access the lobby at night. I am not sure who was to be contacted if there had been an emergency in the hotel.
Many of these items were not communicated to us before we checked in.
Also, in Mackinaw City many of the hotels do not open until May 1st. The reservations that I made were as a result of calling a number that takes reservations, but the people answering the phones are not located on the hotel property and do not necessarily know the properties well. It is part of the reason I kept calling back trying to verify and clarify things.
Fortunately, we had other things planned so this didn’t completely ruin our trip. However I write this to share that there is room for improvement in Ramada’s, collaborating hotels and Mackinaw City Tourism Chamber of Commerce’s processes.response / report this review -

Booked a room for 1 night through Expedia for a waterfront room. After a 5 hour drive we arrive to a typed note on the door with my name on it telling me to check in across the street at a different hotel because the lobby was closed. I though that was strange but then again it was the very beginning of the season so thought maybe that was why. I chose this room because it offered a free breakfast, indoor pool, and decent price (important when you have small children). We go across the street to get room keys and I ask about lobby being closed and if the continental was still being served, she informed me that it would be served at the hotel down the road. Strike 1. We go back across the street to the hotel and go in. The place is completely deserted. It smelled weird. It was dark and dirty looking. Strike 2. Enter the room and it's about 85° degrees in there with the heat blasting and smelled very strange. I pull back the curtain expecting see the lake view I paid for and low and behold I'm looking at a lovely parking lot. Strike 3. At this point, there is no way I am staying here. Deserted, dirty, smelly hotel. I called the 800 number to see about switching. Lady tells me she understands and to call the Hamilton Inn (This is the hotel that the breakfast was being served in) and they could switch my room for me. So we then drive down the road to yet another hotel. The front desk clerk was a very nice lady (actually she ended up being the one who I spoke to when I called the # for the Ramada.) She wanted to match the price I paid at the Ramada. I said OK, but I'm not paying for that room over there and a room here so how do I get my money back? After some back and forth with her manager, and them realizing that I prepaid, they determined they would need to contact the manager of the Ramada to get the approval to switch my reservation over to them. This is the only reason why it's getting 2 stars. The manager OK'd the switch. We got a room at the Hamilton Inn and ending up staying an extra night. If you're looking for a hotel in Mackinaw City, go to the Hamilton Inn. Nice people, nice rooms, pretty view, and a pretty tasty breakfast and decent coffee. I can understand that it was the beginning of the tourist season, but if your hotel is not 100% operational, you should not be taking reservations. A simple phone call or email to me could have remedied this situation, however a note taped to the door was the solution for this hotel. Unimpressed.

We were visiting Mackinaw City for the first time and stayed a few days. The Ramada was very conveniently located right next to the ferry to the island, the service was good and the room was very clean.

Everything about this hotel is bad. I've stayed in some pretty crappy hotels for $50/night. I never expected much from them, but for $100, the bar is set a little higher.
I'm just going to repeat what others have written. Extremely outdated. Also, is it legal to not have safety info in the room? Because we had no info. While I do know to use common sense in case of an emergencystill. Customer service is nice. Not their fault the hotel is crappy.
Elevator is creepy and got stuck or something as we were waiting for it. Ended up taking the stairs all weekend.
My SO used the fitness center and reported back to me that everything but the stationary bike was broken. Even the bike seat has seen better days.
Everything in this hotel could use an update. Interior and guest rooms. Customer service training. I've stayed in some pretty crappy hotels, but this one is probably the worst.response / report this review
