The folks are happy to take you in, and happier to see you go.
The toilet in my room was not bolted down well at all, it moved 6 inches in both directions right to left. When I said something to them at the front desk staff at check out, they said " OK THANKS FOR THE INPUT, DRIVE SAFE GOING HOME!" Not what I was expecting. No receipt when leaving and none offered after my complaint about the toilet. The lady at the counter had her ear buds in and listening the her phone. Very rude if you ask me. The view of the lake is nice and if you walk out to the end of the parking lot you can see the mighty mac at night when it lights up.
Not quite as nice as I thought on the outside, however, our room was clean and had great views. Location was nice and breakfast was very nice. Overall would probably stay again.
Called motel direct to make reservation. Was told I couldn’t and to make reservation on line. Which I did. Came to check in and had terrible customer service. Three employees were chatting (foreign language) and laughing. We had to ask to be waited on. Am thinking I was told to go online so the employee would not have to be bothered. Room was fair at best. Door has about 1/4 inch gap at bottom and on one side and room very dated. Will Not stay at this motel again and will not recommend it.
I made my reservation on the days inn site and they got the room and the cost wrong. There were bulbs missing from fixtures which did get replaced. The room was old, the wood around the whirlpool was separating and appeared black. The bathtub was so old that the base was grey so it appeared dirty. New pictures were hung above the beds but they never bothered to cover up the holes in the walls. The mattress was worn and old. It was whst i would call kind of seedy. I found the staff to be polite and helpful. I would have given this a 1 star but the staff(front desk room attendants and the prompt handiman) brought up the rating.
Very convenient location to Star Lone cruise to Mackinac Island. They don't have private beach but has nice view if you get room that has river view. Rooms are very old but neat and clean. Make sure to select free upgrade if you are booking online. I forgot to select and ended up in small room but my friend got free upgrade and much larger and nice room. When I requested, I got the free upgrade. They also sell ticket to Cruises at front desk. You will get continental breakfast between 7 -9 am. They have many options. In night, easy access to most of the restaurants and market place. Italian Bar and restaurants are food. There is a very good Chinese and Kfc just half mile away.
The rooms had adequate space and the location is great. Just looking outside my window, you can see the lake. The only thing separating the inn from the lake is a parking lot. Plus, staying here would put you at walking distance from most of the shops and to Shepler's and other services that will let you get on Mackinac Island. The only issue I had with it is cleanliness. When we first opened our sliding door to get onto the balcony, there were a bunch of dead and live bugs just stuck onto it. In the bathroom, I saw a good sized cobweb in the corner behind the door. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.
CAUTION SEE ROOM FIRST
Absolutely horrid. Days Inn just won my credit card dispute b/c when you sign in you sign a form agreeing to not cancel 24 hrs.
days inn gets to keep $98.90 of my hard earned wages for nothing in return.

Lakeside View is parking lot. Room filthy, outdated. Sink backed up with black water. Front desk rude, rude, rude. Rainbow Inn is right down street. Stay there. I am still fighting Discover Card for reimbursement for a night I was charged, and never stayed.
This days inn was ok, the room/furnishings were clean, however it was fairly old, like 80s style. the bed was actually comfortable, so no complaints there. wasn't anything special, but a decent stay for the price compared to the neighboring motels. obviously not top end, but it's a Days inn, what can you expect.
Great staff, location (literally right next to Star Line Dock 1), and clean as well as spacious rooms. If your going to Mackinac Island from Mackinaw City this was the place to go. My wife and I have stayed here both times we have been here so far.
Horrible customer service, no one there for a late check in was belittled and screamed at by so called management, was told I was illiterate because I followed their instructions when NO ONE was there to check in at 11:02 pm after traveling over 400 miles This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. Don't bother unless you like being told she could print off literacy brochures for you since you cannot read and follow basic direction's and being told your stupid I give them -5 Stars
This place is dirty! Stains on the floors, no bottom sheet on the bed, dirty bathroom and horrible service. I understand you get what you pay for, but my Lord.
