I drove 130 miles one way after work in a blizzard we arrived at 9pm my husband and I we just wanted to relax in the hot tub but it was closed at 9pm. It was fine thinking we could hit the hot tub after breakfast in the morning and before we go snowmobiling. But low and behold the hot tub doesn't open until noon.. we spent more wanting a hot tub but we could have saved 30$ and specially after our cold night were I woke up three times asking my husband why does it seem so cold I'm freezing our heat was on 85 and still not working. It was very cold in the hallway and elevators. Had to go across the street for breakfast. My opinion needs different hours for pool hot tub not 12 noon until 9pm. Hotel needs updating including paint, new heaters in the building, remodel of bathroom in rooms, and blankets on the bed instead of a holy sheet blanket.. I would never come here again.

To start, the pictures online are extremely deceiving. I don't know if they've renovated portions of the hotel & we got the "old" side, but the room was far from acceptable. See pictures. Aside from the obvious, the door to the room wouldn't close. It stunk. The carpet was so grimy we didn't want to take their shoes off. The couch bed was disgusting that we didn't even use it. There were bugs, cobwebs & dust galore. I would expect this from a motel 6 that charged $40/night, but not from a "resort" in mackinaw city that charged over $200/night!!!!! I called the hotel to complain and Lisa was the most unprofessional person I've ever had to deal with at a hotel. It started with me asking for a manager, she said they weren't in. I asked when they will be in & she responded with "I don't know. You can email him". I asked her if she could please find out when he will be in, I don't mind waiting, I would rather speak to a person live. She said "no, I won't". Then hung up on me!!! I called back 4 times & she hung up on me each and every time. I emailed the manager Ben multiple times with no response either. Disgrace to Michigan tourism.

Nice hotel, a little outdated on the inside. The kids enjoyed the waterpark. The pool and hot tub were nice and offered a lot of space. The waterpark area could have stayed open longer, closes at 10pm. For a tourist area where people are going to be on the street during the day, you won't accommodate many being open those hours. The free breakfast was very good and had a lot of space for guests (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit, biscuits and gravy).

We had reserved our room a couple weeks before our trip. Got there to check in and discover ( credit card company) was having communication issues. The lady working the front desk told us we had to use another form of payment otherwise our reservation would be cancelled. Which is b.s. we ended up using another credit card to pay and went about our way. Later when we got our room she had gave us a better room for all the issues we had earlier. The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfy and the water park was nice to. They didn't have any towels though in there. And the pillows were way to fluffy. But other then that everything was good. Breakfast was good too.

Lady at front desk extremely rude. When we got to our room we were hit with a terrible mold smell. The smell was so strong. No screens in room to open window. We also were told we had Lakeview room. The only Lakeview we had was if we hung over our balcony and seen a sliver of the lake. The carpets were stained, cobwebs in multiple areas, air conditioner was filled with dust. The couch we had looked 25 years old and stunk so bad. Windows wide open thought the hotel with no screens and majority of the doors didn't latch closed coming into hotel or water park area. The water park had no ventilation so it was so humid and windows were streaked with water you couldn't see out. Don't let the pictures fool you, this place isn't worth your time. Disgusting

GAVE OUR ROOM AWAY!!!!! They are running a SCAM!

I reserved a suit 4 days before visiting Mackinac city for the Labor Day holiday and only to find out that they did not keep our room. The lady at the front desk was quite rude and told me, "If you read your email it says that if you don't get confirmation within 72 hours you would need call us and you did not call us". This is true, but why would I read all the fine prints of my email if it took all my credit card info and says in big letters "Thank you for Order" "Look forward to seeing you." I was assured that I had my room reserved.

I never had to wait for confirmation for 3 days in all my hotel booking experience so far. Basically, as their rates increased, they gave our suit away for a higher rate than what I booked for. This resulted me in spending hundreds of dollars elsewhere.

So don't book here and even if you do, call them up and make sure they reserved your room for real.

Staff was very friendly but the overall cleanliness of the hotel and rooms was terrible. Giant cobwebs everywhere I looked. Rooms had a funky smell. The attached water park was okay and the kids seemed to like it. But the bathrooms in the water park were trashed. There were no clean towels when we were ready to leave. And there was no staff monitoring the area. It felt as if anybody could walk-in. Would not recommend.

Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone. The rooms were super outdated and the cleanliness needs to be improved. Dirty tissues were found throughout the room and the drain doesn't work. The service is horrible and they do not know how to take care of their customers. They claim waterview but there is no water view.. The door looks like it got beat down. The water park is small and super chlorinated. Should not be considered a water park. Also the breakfast is bad. If staying in Mackinac City, Do not stay here!

Beds were hard stiff and springy. Black hair in the tub, pulled sheets back and mattress are definitely extremely old and stained. Dust on nearly everything, blankets were thin and old. Breakfast room and pool was completely on the other side of hotel had to maze around just to find both had to go through 2 elevators and outside to get to breakfast and pool. Not impressed..no one answers phone when you call front desk from the room but they answer if you call from cell phone they will answer. Waterpark kids area the water was freezing cold. Also its $30 extra for a lake view room except that there is actually no Lakeview.

Nice rooms great price had a family of 7 plenty of room for all of us shower had a little bit of mold. Place could use some maintenance . Water park was pretty good. It's good for the price . Wife and kids enjoyed it and that's all that matters to me. A little love and money this place could be top notch. Would definitely recommend and will probably return.

We have a family of four which includes a six month old and six year old. It's now 11pm and all we can hear is the game room which is right below us would have been great for the staff to realize this would happen, the staff is well aware we have a baby as we rented a portable crib. Which leads me to another complaint. We purchased the room for fourwe shouldn't have to pay extra for a bed that we already paid for.
Hotel area to our room, through the breakfast area needs major cleaning.

    Dissatisfied to say the least

We didn't stay at the hotel but just went for the day for a birthday party at the water park. It's quite reasonably priced for a day pass ($12) and the kids loved it. There's a large pool that was very warm and the hot tub was hot and fun to play in. The waterpark area is small but perfect for kids ages 4-10. It's safe and easy to monitor all the kids at the same time. There's a great room upstairs for cake and snacks. It was well staffed and kept clean. I'd highly suggest it for a great indoor activity on a cold winter day!
