Atmosphere was good, felt like a good Irish pub. The fish and chips were ok, you could tell they were fried in new oil, could have used a little seasoning in the batter too. Staff was friendly and our drinks never ran empty.

Great food and great people! Recommend you try the caramel apple sundae drink and the fish and chips! Amazing! Can't wait to go again and I haven't even left yet!

Wonderful atmosphere, food, and drink. The sign on the building says "an Irish experience" and it certainly was that.

Wonderful! Sat at the bar and was immediately welcomed by Devin and Loren. Had a Turkey Rueben, salad and a few Stella's. Food was fantastic and the Service was excellent! Devin and Loren were so nice and we carried on great conversation along with other people at the bar. Thank you for making me feel at home. I will be back! Don't forget Tom with a "T".

Port City is a shining light on Portsmouth's aging main street. The atmosphere is cozy and upon entering the pub's doors the customer will immediately notice the merging of dark Irish pub nuances and local memorabilia.

This reviewers favorite aspect of this establishment is the seating options. You can eat at the copper covered bar, in the comfort of a booth, at another bar-like stool seating at the back, or down in front at a more traditional wooden table. There is enough seating for a variety of groups, be it a date, dinner for one, or a birthday with full regalia.

Aesthetics aside, the food is excellent is far exceeds the label of "bar food." There chief there can (and has) whipped up peanut butter & jelly or grilled cheese sandwich for kids who are picky eaters. For the adult genre of eaters, there is a full menu that is sure to soothe any palate, while not being too hard on the wallet. The bar is full stocked but several bartenders may need reminded on how to make less common drinks (ie. Vodka Collins). There is a Happy Hour that runs from 5PM until 7PM with draught beers being 50% reduced. Bartenders and wait staff alike were accommodating, friendly, and professional. Wait times even during peak times were not existent.

Pub City offers a plethora of events in a city that lacks much to do. There are local musicians, trivia night, and even karaoke. There is the standard lunch and dinner rush, which provides quality people watching opportunities. This establishment is casual, but not overly so and attracts mostly the university and 25+ crowd of young professionals and retirees.

Overall, my experience with Pub City exceeded my expectations. Many eateries come and go, but with the positive aspects of quality atmosphere, customer service, and quality food & beverage, Pub City has set itself to continue on for many years to come.
