Complicated hub made easy accessible.
I've been using PABT from past 3 years. It's a very big bus hub. 50s of buses comes in and go out every minute.
There are number of rest rooms, staffs try to keep it clean as much as possible but a place like this where thousands of people visit every minute, even public has the responsibility to use it gently & clean.
There are number of shops, Dunkin Donuts, Bank of America ATMs, even bank itself inside this bus terminal. There is a stage for anyone to "Sing for Hope" which gives them a stage to showcase their talent in front of the thousands of passengers.
There are number of gates that are split floor wise, lines pile up quickly if there is delay in bus due to traffic outside. The staffs are friendly, they conduct public feedback desks frequently.
There is free wifi for a short period which is useful inside the terminal where mobile network is not always great. There are power outlets to charge mobile. Buses are clean.
Overall, a good & huge terminal for a hassle free commute.response / report this review -

People need to chill out with the "i can't find my way around, there's no board telling me where to go hurr durr" attitude. Stop being lazy. There's a bunch of large screens that tell you where and when your bus leaves, and you can search for your bus through it too.
So what that there's homeless people? A lot of them don't really have anywhere else to go. Why don't you be a good person and help them out?
Rush hour is bad, but hey that's why busses become more frequent at that time to accommodate for the number of people. Missed the 177? There's another one in 10-15min.
It's a bus station, not a luxury hotel. Use it to get home, and stop being prissy about it.response / report this review -

I purchased a bag of barbecue Lays potatoe chips from the vending machine in the Greyhound bus terminal near gate 74 and was wondering why they tasted stale, when they had a guaranteed fresh date until September 23, 2017. I checked the bag and noticed a hole in it, possibly from a rodent. I took pictures of the bag. I'm just disgusted!!!!!

Only good for local NJ buses. If you are traveling out of town especially Greyhound, plan an extra hour for delay in leaving terminal. Of course filth, crowd and homeless is the cherry on top :)

I commuted through here for one whole year. One awful year. There's no board telling you which buses leave from which gates, which seem to change all the time. If the bus leaves on time, which is very doubtful, you'll still probably sit in traffic for fifteen minutes waiting to get from PABT to the tunnel, even though they're right next to each other. It smells inside, has obvious water damage, is in desperate need of renovation or replacement, but because of how crucial it is to the bus infrastructure, it can't go out of use for even a day. It's crowded, it smells terrible, and my life was probably shortened by all of the diesel exhaust. When I got a new job, I was ecstatic to start taking the train, even though it cost a good $100 more per month.
If this place burned down, I would pay for the privilege of pissing onto the smoking rubble, but I wouldn't be the first: every surface inside has already been urinated on by the homeless who congregate there.

Port Authority is the necessary evil everyone commuting interstate must endure. It is riddled with homeless people. Private Buses going towards Atlantic City see most of the drama due to already intoxicated riders on their way to more "fun". Lower Level lacks NJT ticket vending machines, which results in missed buses and bitter commuters. Staff is scarce, if spotted they are aloof and do not seem to have the answer. Besides that, it's awesome!

if you're coming into the city via the Lincoln tunnel, enter the left tube and stay left when you come out. On the right will be the entrance to the Port Authority parking area. There is always plenty of spaces, but the best part is when you exit after you are done with your day it puts you directly into the tunnel without having to go onto the streets and all of that traffic. A full day on the weekend will cost you close to $40, so it's not a bargain, but you'll start out right in midtown and can walk to shows, Bryant Park, and lots more.

Commuter riding Coach USA buses 5 days a week. As. Transportation HUB, the Port needs to improve on its appearance, communication and safety. Many tourist come through to go to Woodbury Commons and half of them are lost, due to no proper signs. Then we have those who are coming through to catch connecting buses and have to sit and wait in unsecured places. For commuters we don't know if buses are running because you don't know until you get to the Port. And have to make other arrangements.

Moderately easy to self navigate to your bus. In rush hour, this place becomes a nightmare. Keep asking the security personnel in case you need directions or for any other doubt. The kiosk machines are quite useful and will speed up your ticket buying process. The restrooms are not that clean, and you can't find drinking water frequently.

It serves it's function. Come here get the bus and go home. There are couple of good bars if you have spare time. Not a bad place by itself. It's just that it needs a new tunnel to new jersey and it's not designed for the number of people that have to come here. No complaints though. You make do with what you get I guess.
