This place is the best! It has a really fun, yet cozy vibe and they always have the funniest comedians and the service is great! You can tell that the staff really loves what they're doing. I love coming here!
Cannot say enough great things about this place. Great staff and drinks. Easy access to public transportation (1 Train Station on 79th and Broadway) Comedy is top notch. Mixed in with TV and Movie comics are the comics behind the scenes that write the jokes. If you like smart and crafted comedy this is the place.
I love love love this club! It's always my go-to for a laugh in the city. Not only are the comedians hilarious AND seen on TV, the drinks are delicious and the service is really great. I recommend this club to anyone looking to have a fun break from work, or just wanting a good night out on the weekend. I'm taking more friends there next time! 5 stars!!
Fantastic show! Learned about this comedy club from their website, and it did not disappoint. I wanted to see Joe List and Mark Normand, so I went on the website, found out when they were performing, and had a great time. The wait staff, bartenders and manager were very inviting and nice, and made my night wonderful. Comics were hilarious too! I would definitely recommend this club and definitely will be going again!
Hilarious! Went to the "unwashed" comedy show. Was a little nervous with some of the reviews being so negative--but was not disappointed. All of the comedians were funny. Yes the drinks were expensive--but NYC is expensive in general, so not a surprise. Plus as soon as you check in, when the waitress comes to say hi, AND when the MC/host comes on the stage, they make it every clear there is a 2 drink ($18) min per person. It's also written In multiple locations (along with the fact that tax isn't included on the menus and an 18% service charge is put in your tab). These angry people just must not be literate or just plain old grumpy. I quite enjoyed myself, along with the rest of the audience. Highly recommended. 👌Note: I'm a real person and was not paid or endorsed (or what not) to write this review. Genuinely funny. :)
Decent line up of comics when I went. 2 of 5 were solid. The rest gave me a few chuckles, but no one bombed which was nice. Losing two stars based on the way seating is done. How about one less table per row so I'm not sitting on the strangers lap next to me. $20 ticket plus $18 drink min. Pay all that money and you get to touch shoulders with two strangers.
We had really good comedians and I love the small room so it's personal but the drinks are really high and not worth the money plus you have to have a 2 drink minimum and they add 18% to your check. It gets pricey fast for a so-so show.
The comedians were really great, especially the host. Had a Groupon deal which required two drinks at minimum. Well worth it though because it was a good time.
Me and my friends from Texas arrived very early and while we were waiting for the show to start I was reading the reviews on here. After the show was over I found all these reviews ridiculous. As long as you realize there is an 18 dollar minimum drink fee, there is no reason to not enjoy yourselves there. All 6 acts and the host were hilarious and I was even the victim of several jokes. If you are going to a comedy club and don't have a sense of humor then that is just silly. This place has been my favorite part of my trip up north and deserves a much better rating.
The comics were good, not great, but good. This place was never cheap, but now it's a rip off. They are cash only all of a sudden, shoved in more tables to make it even more crowded and charge an 18% service fee to an already hefty $18 food/drink minimum. I enjoyed this place once, but will not be going back. The only acceptable time to come here is if for some reason you NEED to see a comedy show on the upper west side. Otherwise, go to Comedy Cellar or do something else.
