Not a good hospital to bring your family here. They are not good in talking care of the patients. I have a family member currently staying there. He's been there for a month now because of multiple strokes caused by tb meningitis. Everytime I go to visit him, there's always something to complain about either his bed is soiled and no one has bothered to change his gown and beddings or the food they give him are regular food inspite of what I told them (either pureed or cut into small pieces). One time, I came at 3pm and found him just staring at his food because they gave him a piece of baked chicken breast and vegetables, uncut. The staff knew that due to his strokes, he could hardly use his hands, what more cutting up his food. I helped him eat, thinking it was his dinner but when he was done eating, less than an hour later, they are delivering their dinner. So meaning to say, the food that he was staring at was his lunch. My other complain are the doctors, I had left several messages to the nurses to ask the doctors to give me an update of his condition but until now, no one has ever called me. If I want update, I have to call three hospital. if they have to move him to another room, I will only find out when I visit him. This place is the worst ever. I work in healthcare, we NEVER treat our patients like this we make sure they are comfortable and well taken cared of. Pls don't send your family to this hospital, it's terrible.
Birthing center here is priceless. Forget ucsd and other places. I got my first daughter delivered here. Nurses were very experienced and patient. Anesthesiologist was precise with epidural procedure. My wife delivered our baby natural birth and they really care about the well being of the mom and the baby.
Better than many ERs Ive been too. Seen fairly quickly and tasted with respect and concern. Sure wait time Barry greatly
Excellent service by the nurses and doctors and really all the staff. Yes they might be short handed, but what hospital isn't? They literally saved my mother's life.
Once upon a time this place used to be great. Now it's pretty miserable with inexcusable ER wait times, overworked (and therefore rude) staff, bad billing, and HIPPA violations. Some people here really work their butt off, and the parking and proximity for East County people are good. The rest is terrible.
Edit: Docked another star. If you ever have to deal with their billing department, do not be afraid to call them nonstop. Do not wait for them to call you back. Be proactive, lest they send your account to collections despite numerous attempts to communicate with them and pay your bill. (How is it this difficult for a hospital to TAKE money?)
My stay at Pomerado was nothing short of fantastic especially for someone who has had a fear of doctors and hospitals for as long as I can remember. The "why" isn't important - what is important is to share my story and let others know how fantastic the staff are at this hospital. I was admitted on June 27th and looking like I was on my death bed - and in certain terms, I was. My hemoglobin was at '6', I had lost over 50 pounds in just under 4 months, was dehydrated and malnourished as well as having nearly no iron in my body - the first thing they wanted to know was how I was losing blood - I was put on a blood transfusion pretty early on as well as getting iron. An MRI uncovered a tumor in my colon region but it wasn't just a tumor, it wants to take over my body. Long story short, I received exceptional nursing and doctor's care beyond what I could have ever expected as well as having wonderful chaplains visit me on a regular basis. Pomerado is an exceptional hospital with truly caring nurses and doctors and would recommend them to anyone for anything. God Bless Pomerado and all of it's staff for bringing me back to life.
This has to have been the Worst Hospital Procedure I have ever had. I left in excruciating pain. My Pain was not controlled after the surgery. The Dr. was Very rude with his words calling me fat after I got this removed and it is a guarantee. then He laughed and said if you guys all were not so fat I would not have a job HAHA Dr. Callery Totally unprofessional. I was not called afterwards the next day when the Woman said what is a good number so I can call and see how you are doing NO CALL. When I went out of the Surgical Room to the Recovery room laying there crying for hours as they gave me a minimal medicine that I told them does NOT work for me. I was getting dressed and I had my arm out afterwards for the Nurse to take out the IV she did not, I had to.She told me to. I have been a caregiver but never dealt with iv's. My arm had bruises up and down it for 2 weeks, plus the amount of blood that squirted out was not good. I would have to say that this has been the worst experience in my life, Plus I have no follow up care and got no discharge instructions. I called Dr. Callery that night same day as Procedure and he said ice. He then said I will call you tomorrow to see how you are, I have not spoken to him since. So I would have likes to be checked out since I had the procedure but I guess that will not happen, Why wasn't I taken care of? Dr. Callery and Staff that day. Oh when I was getting ready for surgery the Nurse seemed frazzled she spilt blood on me and said I will change that real quick. All over the blankets, my gown etc. I went into surgery with that on. I am so disgusted by their care, and tell anyone to stay away from Callery!!!!
My dad has been at this hospital for a month. First in the third floor, then Villa Pomerado and later back to the emergency room and intensive care. My family has no words to express the gratitude we have for all the employees. They have gone above and beyond their duty to provide him and us with comfort. You all have been so wonderful and beautiful. My dad's last moments could not have been better if it weren't for all of you. You have treated us like part of your family, and turned around the meaning of what a hospital stands for. Thank you! Thank you! Every doctor, nurse, therapists, and staff that have make sure to provide us with everything to make this moment less difficult.
Balance Basics class was great!! Clear explanations, descriptions and the sample exercises were fun. Instructor was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Had my baby here and I had an overall good experience, except that they used Valley Pathology that sent my bill straight to collections. Seems like a scam and its hard to get a hold of anyone in billing to ask about random charges like these.
ER can be impacted with very busy conditions highly recommend you consider urgent care for minor conditions
My mom is currently in this hospital and came through the ER before being admitted. The ER team from the doctor down to the front desk were accurate, caring and very cordial. What makes a hospital great is the care the patient receives and communication to family during the stress of it all. The hospital met/exceeded our every expectation. I am very grateful for Pomorado Hospital, their staff and all who helped my mom make it through a very intense situation.
My mom is currently in this hospital. She came in through the emergency room on Saturday, in critical care. They didn't waste a second and got her in and began treating her. They admitting her into ICU until she was stable enough to go to mid-care. I can't rave enough about the service from the nurses, the doctors and even the CNA's. It's still a hospital, so you need to wait, but I can tell you that they made sure she was getting the right and best treatment, every step of the way. I thank Dr. Chan and the rest of the team for saving my moms life! She's still not out of the woods, but I wouldn't want her anywhere else.
Aweful services, you gotta wait so many hours to doctor visit you. I just got a smashed finger and had me stay for 3 hours in lobby and then I was about to leave that they let me in. It took 5 hours to get a complete treatment. You probably need to bring foods and blanket for waiting here!
