The price was too high for me, it was comfortable but too small, I had to squeeze past the bed to get to the bathroom and hit my knee on the corner of the bed. The shower there me off with just the one handle, maybe my fault for not turning it far enough but my shower could have been warmer. The roof was beautiful at night. Bed was comfortable and room seemed clean.

The rooms are as expected! They are reasonable. Don't like the situation with the bathroom being so open if you are sharing a room with someone so I recommend going down stairs to do your business! In a GREAT location! Workers are nice too.

The good: Friendly, efficient staff. That's about it. The hotel room itself is almost completely bare except for a bed, and a chair with design that looks like it came from a strange modern art catalogue. Ours felt like a tiny dorm room. And the heat/HVAC system roars like a badly-tuned Porsche whenever it runs. It seems like they're cutting costs wherever possible. For example, you don't get a tiny bar of soap, but rather a toy marble-sized ball of soap that barely lathers up. The shower and sink faucets don't even have a hot and cold faucet- just a single faucet whose temperature depends on how much it's turned. Stay here if all you're going to do is sleep and shower, because their rooms barely provide even the most basic level of comfort.

Great location, compact but efficient room. Good service but there was confusion about us booking the room an extra night... Housekeeping tried to come in the room even though we had a do not disturb sign on the door because they were told we were checking out that day. After that another staff member knocked on the door and told me we were supposed to have checked out. I called the front desk and they said it was their mistake. Not sure where the miscommunication happened. Aside from that everything was fine.

My room was small but typical for New York I really liked it. My parents paid $15 more for a much bigger room. Bathroom frosted glass door may be awkward if staying with friends, okay if staying with boyfriend/spouse! Great hot shower! Water cold for sink couldn't adjust to hot! Nice desk comfortable bed. Hip atmosphere very modern rooms! I loved my view I could see apartments they looked really small too. No screens in windows be careful if have children.

This review is for the rooftop bar, not the hotel.

Pod is one of the best rooftop spots in the city. Great drinks, good tacos, and amazing views all add to the dopeness. I really dig the (Greek?) columns surrounding the roof. They have great margaritas and some craft beers.

It gets pretty packed here so get here at 5 or as close to 5 as possible. Luckily, if you do have to wait, you put your name down. There's a bar downstairs that you can sip a beer or drink at until your name is called.

All around great summer spot for NYC.

I enjoyed my stay at Pod 39 Hotel. I came to NYC without a set plan and was able to get a room the day I arrived. I arrived too early to check in, but they allowed me to leave my bags with them so I didn't have to light them around. Every single staff member, and I mean everyone, was friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty bare necessities, but that's really all I could ask for, I didn't come to New York City to stay in my room all day. It's the perfect place to keep your stuff, take a shower and sleep, that's really all you need. Plus they have a pretty neat rooftop bar that's a great place to relax and have a drink and take in the city night. I liked it here so much, I decided to stay another night, which by the way was also very easy, there was no fuss and ot was not a hassle at all. Very happy with my stay.

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay here at Pod 39. The rooms were small as mentioned in other posts, but they were also clean and efficient. The only thing I found myself missing in my room was a mini fridge.

The location was great. Quick walk to Grand Central, Bryant Park and all the sites in Times Square. There were a lot of good restaurants that were within walking distance as well.

The staff at Pod 39 were always polite and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in New York.

Great little hotel. It's very basic but ideal as a crash pad in a fantastic location in the city. Grand central is 5-10 mins walk away for subway links. If you like to get out of your room and enjoy the city then this place is for you

So it's a great place to stay at Manhattan! They have a great atmosphere and very nice design! Why just 4 stars, because of heat, it was 63 degree when stopped in Pod . And they couldn't do anything . Rest was very good. And one more thing, the room is really small.

Recently a friend and I decided to take a long weekend trip in New York. We didn't want to spend a whole lot on accommodations so we combed the web looking for reasonably priced hotels. We found Pod 31. The price was right as we only needed a clean, safe room. We booked the room with a bunk bed and private bath. Yes, bunk bed. Each bed had it's own T.V. The room was small with not much room but it was all we needed. It was a wonderful stay with great service, nothing fancy but if all you want is a safe, reasonably priced stay then try Pod 39. It's on 39th Street as it's name implies, with great shopping not far away. We were pleasantly surprised and would stay there again.

Stayed here for a weekend in December with a friend to take in the holiday sights of the city. Location is fantastic. It was close to everywhere my friend and I wanted to go. The room was clean and modern. We opted for a bunk bed room, which was kind of fun - it reminds you a lot of when you had sleepovers as a kid :) The only thing that was a little odd was the bathroom in the room, which was basically a glass wall and siding door that didn't offer a ton of privacy. Room was fairly priced for being in the city during the holidays and it was overall a great experience. Would stay here again for sure.

Best value in Manhattan! Easy walking distance from Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building and Park Ave. Salvation Taco exceeds expectations. The rooftop is open seasonally and has views of One World Center. Rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed. Younger, hip clientele. Great experience!
