Just finished brunch here , $150+ bill tip for over 20% ( and then added an extra mimosa that was not ordered onto our bill ) after paying and plugging my phone into the charger under the bar countertop, ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND SAW A COCKROACH SCURRYING ALONG THE WALL TOWARDS THE OUTLET, immediately notified the waiter as it crawled into the outlet, the bartender simply
replied “sorry about that” IT IT NOT ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE COCKROACHES IN YOUR RETAURANT AND SERVE FOOD, on top of that your response is “sorry about that?? TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE AND PROVIDE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BECAUSE WE WILL NEVER EVER BE EATING HERE AGAIN, if I saw a cockroach for the 1 minute I glanced down to plug my charger into the outlet - WHO KNOWS HOW MANY OTHERS ARE ROAMING FREELY AROUND THE RESTAURANT CONTAMINATING YOUR FOOD

The best patio wrapped around several gorgeous live oak trees. Such a relaxed vibe. Great selection on oysters on the half shell.

Perla's has super fresh seafood and great waiting areas. Walked up on a Sunday evening and waited about 20 min for a table for 2 on the patio. My entree (Crispy Texas Gulf Snapper with lemon spinach and spicy sofrito) was simple and delicious.

Had a lovely dinner here. Love the vibe. Has a modern, by the sea feel in the middle of Austin. Great deck. Nice interior. Most important, great food!

We had the baked oysters and they were delicious! We also had the octopus and it was perfect! Loved it!

For my main, I had the red fish in a half shell. It was so good. Light and clean flavor. Perfectly cooked. It was delicious! We had brussel sprouts and macaroni with cheese. Both were great for sharing and super tasty!

All I have to say is the food was good, but the service was absolute junk.

Sat out on the balcony with my party, had Trevor as my server. Here are his 3 strikes that took 3 stars away from my meal.

First off - I was asked if I needed more silverware, to which I replied yes. Instead of listening to me and bringing me a new set - he picked up a used rolled up towel that I had put next to me, and said, "your silverware is right here," and walked off. I had to ask the guy who brought out the food for my replacement silverware.

Second, I ordered the full round of oysters. While we're talking and eating our other appetizers, he literally comes, doesn't ask if we are finished, and takes the dish away with 3 fresh oysters left in it. Didnt make eye contact whatsoever, just stealthily took it.

Third, I order to go Lobster Mac and cheese. Get home with it only to find out that it has no lobster. I didn't get charged for the lobster, and I guess I should have double checked, but that's not the point - Who the f*@& orders Mac n Cheese from Perla's without lobster in it?

Maybe we were treated like this because of how we were dressed? That's the only reason I can think of why we weren't taken seriously and rushed out. Never judge a book by his cover, I'm a local business owner and was taking someone out who is in the top 5 of our industry, and the experience as a whole was rather embarrassing. I guess that's why Trevor is an outdoor waiter and doesn't work indoors.

Despite all this, it did make a good post-dinner discussion, which is about all I can thank him for. Hope you enjoyed that 25% tip on our $270 dinner that you probably didn't think I could afford.

I loved the food, the attention and the patio. The crispy salmon was outstanding. The clam chowder was a bit thin but excellent flavor. The spicy oysters were great. I'll go back again anytime.

Went to Perla's on a whim as the weather was nice and I wanted to sit outside. I've been in Austin for 10+ years, and have visited so many restaurants, but never made it to Perla's until now (Mongers, Juniper, Lenoir, Red Ash, Vespaio!)

I enjoyed my meal. I split a wedge salad with thousand island dressing topped with crab meat. I had seared scallops with a cauliflower puree that were not overcooked and served perfectly. My fiance had a lobster roll that was a bit disappointing. They had a nice lobster mix placed on top of a roll that wasn't flat, nor cut open. I think the roll should have been cut so that you could actually get some of the lobster down in it and not spill off everywhere. It would have been KILLER if they melded it with a Raisin Canes piece of flat Texas toast with a slight crunch.

The prices were really high though. I looked around and noticed the clientele was older: probably averaging 40 on South Congress. Our one app, a beer, a glass of wine, a lobster roll, and scallops (3) was $110 w/o tip. That didn't really include any sides except for shoe string fries that came with the roll. Sides were all $8-$14 and are intended to be shared.

I wanted to try so many other things on the menu, but pretty much everything was $35/plate when I went. I'd give this place a 4.2/5 (not a 4).

Really excellent seafood for being inland. I'm from Florida. Great atmosphere. Will recommend and will visit again when in Austin.

$18 Po-Boys with no condiments - you have to request the seafood condiments but the waitress didn't ask if we wanted them or say that they don't come with the order. This half-a** seafood restaurant with a banging location, and parking harder to deal with than a stay in a Russian gulag is rightly exploiting the fact that white people with money have re-Columbisized and discovered oysters, while fans of cocktail sauce have been in the know for longer. Tartar sauce group perhaps growing too . . this is this rusted trombone of a restaurant's welcoming salvo to guest, with the waitress coming over after 30 minutes to talk 'water'. Fries are second-rate af, baguette was excellent, decor - perfect. Shrimp felt and tasted like they were made by a cocktail waitress on a oil rig restaurant, but not an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Microscope not included with shrimp. Ayn Rand as our waitress: Free, and five courses of salty kitchen staff (waitress dropped dime on kitchen Nazis). Swank no seafood. Austin twenty years, Gulf Coast raised.

I have going to this almost twice a week. One weekend I took my kids and I ordered a hamburger for them to share since my kids were not that hungry. So I ordered a burger for my kids requesting an extra empty place and cut it in half so my kids can share it. When done I asked for the bill and was an extra $4.00 added to the bill it's not a big deal but I was curious what is it for. The waiter stated the extra $4.00 was for cutting your kids burger in half and the request for an extra empty plateI couldn't believe it. Paid the bill, went home I never went back to eat there since then. Unbelievable!!!!!!!

My husband and I are from New England and we loved this place. Its definitely more expensive then what we are used to but for the quality and freshness, i wont complain about it. Our waitress was knowledgable and you could tell she appreciated the quality of the food.It was like being back in New Hampshire or Maine, it was a refreshing change of pace. I will definitely be recommending Perla's to anyone who gives me the chance.

Perla's was pretty good. I really enjoyed the raw oysters, however, the entrees we had were pretty ordinary. The location is great for people watching.

Delicious! Easily the best seafood restaurant in Austin. Love to grab a couple beers and share the Poco Platter. When it's not too hot, the patio is always fun.

Amazing food!! First time here and as first impressions go, I thought the place was cute. The outdoor seating and cozy interior was very inviting.
Then came the food! Wow.everything was delicious. I had oysters for the first time and they were yummy. The ahi tuna was very good, and the steak was tender.
All in all, it was a great experience. If I'm ever in town again, I will definitely come back to Perla's.

The lobster bisque is good what's amazing is the tiny piece of bread on the side. Crisp on both sides soft in the middle the perfect dunking bread. The hush puppies are so good you will fill up. The fried oysters were good bit not great, fresh but a little greasy
