Beautiful setting for a more scale Mexican Restaurant with high expectations that didn't delivered. We ordered the corn soup that was good , tacos ,chilaquiles that were so salty, and the trout with no flavor at all even after limes and salt. Our server John was polite and very informative about the menu, telling us how wonderful was going to but sadly it was a big disappointed.
First time at La Fonda and I will for sure go back. I ordered the house margarita on the rocks made with fresh lime juice (delish!) and followed it up with the order of Suiza chicken enchiladas! The enchiladas were served on a bed of white rice and black beans and topped with fresh avocado. I highly recommend it. They serve complimentary tortilla chips with salsa. The server was attentive and our order was out timely. Thanks La Fonda for the great experience!
Sumptuous food! Got the Acapulco Omelet. Just the right amount of flavors and textures. The cinnamon fruit cup was the perfect ending for a perfectly delightful fare. My best to the chef for constructing a truly gastronomical delight.
I had a glass of their amazing Sangria. It was really good. I tried the fish tacos which were nicely done. I would come here again.
Always on the hunt for great Mexican food. La Fonda on Main did not disappoint. The salsa tasted fresh from the garden. My plate was spot on delicious. My daughter's spinach enchiladas were the best she or I have ever tasted. My wife's enchilada verde bumped it's way to first place on her list. Then the best part. Seating for 10 outside was not crowded at all. Our waiter was professional and attentive.
My wife and I have eaten at La Fonda often over the years. They present a braud range of selections including vegetarian choices. The menu is packed with originally created, Mexican style dishes which taste wonderful and are reasonablely priced. If you like to drink there is a full bar with a great Margarita. The servers are friendly, well acuainted with the menu and are attentive without hovering. The ambiance is lovely with a beautiful patio outside. It's pleasant to eat out there when the weather is nice, but make a reservation to make sure you get a table. I highly recommend La Fonda on Main and I know you will too.
Delicious food, and Great service! The appetizer we selected, Diablitos, we're incredible. Would highly recommend, but call ahead for a reservation.
My experience here was adequate. The food was not bad, I guess ok for the price. Service was good but I must have got to them on a busy night as it was somewhat slow. You have to ask for everything here, including straws, more salsa, etc. The sweeper-wielding manager's attempt at 'conversation' was not helpful. I have had better food at lower prices with better service.
Arrived late, ate outside, peaceful and beautiful. The help was nicer than the waitress. I think she was tired. La Fonda Salad was excellent!!! Will be back! Loved the atmosphere!!!
Great restaurant. Service was kind and efficient. The food was excellent. We Got there at ten past 11am on a Friday. We were the third table in the place but when we left an hour later they were packed and people were waiting. Make a reservation just in case. Supper yummy. Glad I listened to the reviews.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. I have been here several times and never had a bad dish. My favorite part is the spicy guacamole. Be sure to make reservations or get there early. It is very popular for lunch and weekend dinners.
Was a great place and has good service. Was seated fast even though it was crowded and the food was awesome. Ask for there roasted salsa (dollar extra charge) but it had a great smokey flavor. Waitress was awesome and overall the food was superb !
This place was so amazing. Seriously one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. The cocktails were on point, the service was impeccable, the food (Tex-Mex enchiladas) were delicious. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in SA.
Very disappointed in this place. I was hoping for much more with all the good reviews. Family of five and all the food came out cold and lacked flavor. Ordered the steak fajitas and received a few pieces of steak and a ton of peppers and onion. What a deal for $22. I told the server about the cold food and never even saw the manager to get an apology. Later they offered a free desert. This won't make me come back to this place.
Awesome authentic Mexican restaurant on main st. Came with some family for a late night dinner, and enjoyed some incredibly lemon/basil margaritas while we waited for our table. The service was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed our friendly waitress as well as her wine and meal recommendations. The breaded chicken was full of flavor and texture, but didn't sit heavy. Everything was wonderful. would happily come again.
