Been there twice for emergencies (one visit did turn out very serious, the other as a precaution that turned out to be ok), and about half the staff appears to consist of cackling witches. Just judging from the actual cackling and the total lack of compassion or professionalism. The techs were all pretty nice, but the nurses in the emergency room have no problem loudly laughing and discussing what an idiot they think you are for having come in at all. How appalling.
This has happened on both visits (different set of nurses, same attitude) - the nurse thinks I should know how to practice medicine myself, it seems, and laughs at my silly ignorance despite the fact that's why they have a job.
Really makes you want to leave asap, but they keep you for hour after hour with no explanation of what's ahead and absolutely nothing on the bill you're racking up in the meantime. I was told I would get a test result in 30 minutes, and waited almost two hours to be told that test was fine but they wanted a different one in an hour. Never given the whole picture til I'd already been there almost 7 hours. They also forgot several steps they were supposed to take for my comfort and safety (like failing to give me the nurse call button for the first hour plus, for starters) which really drove home the point they thought I shouldn't have come. I get having a rough day at work, but these people were actively nasty despite me being honest and polite to them. Next time we'll drive a little extra toanywhere else.response / report this review -

An Emergency Department Physician's Assistant has been reported for breaking my son's Hipaa and his basic rights as a patient. She also broke policy and procedure. She was Immediately reported via telephone to the , " Speak Up Hotline. " ( The Patient's Rights are posted All over the Walls ) Through RGH.
She did not treat my son, (whom was entrusted in HER Care) ethically or responsibly. She was blantantly and unapologetically stereotyping my son. I've also filed a Civil Claim.
I hope that NYS will examine her further. No one deserves the, " Care " That this provider gives. Apparently, advocating for my adult son is not acceptable to this Physician's Assistant. I do not recommend that anyone utilize this Emergency Room for any reason. After reading the reviews, it's even more frightening than I could have even imagined.response / report this review -

I went here for test to be done in radiology. All the techs were very polite and kind. I only had to wait about 5 minutes in waiting room.

This review is in regards to the Imaging portion on site at the hospital. I have never been admitted.
The staff are professional and friendly, and the new wing at the Marshall Pavilion is very well-appointed and comfortable. There is even a waiting area outside which includes a couch two chairs Ottomans and a coffee table. All in all the atmosphere puts one at ease. I especially like the offices that are set aside for intakes. They are completely private. No chance of other people listening to your private details.response / report this review -

A close family friend was transported, by ambulance, to the hospital last Friday. We went to pick him up late Friday night. He had broken/dislocated his shoulder. When we arrived he was sitting in the lobby in a wheel chair by himself. We walked in and they said he is over there, take him. No one helped us to get him in the car. He was shaking uncontrollably and hadn't eaten the entire time he was in the hospital and had diabetes. His stats were never checked, nothing was. Come to find out, they never even set his shoulder. They gave him a sling, didn't even help the elderly man put the sling on. He just passed away. 1 week after visiting the hospital.

4500 dollars to sit in a miserable cold unattended room with a broken machine. What do you do when you think your having a cardiac event late on a weekend night. You can go and literally pay over a thousand dollars an hour for them to tell you it's nothing. Or stay home and pray you don't leave your children fatherless and your wife a widow. Their interpretation of the hippocratic oath, "First do no harm" does not apply to your financial state. My advise stay in the waiting room till you think it passes. It's warmer, it's attended and they have television.

Emergency department is very negligent of patients feelings, illness and complaints. You tell them how you're feeling and they tell you you're fine. They lie and say lab results are fine but you have proof of results that they are not. An NP put her hands on me and held my wrists to the bed because I asked to show her my surgery incision that was infected. She then yelled at me before looking at it and said it was fine. She finally then went to check and I was trying to point to the problem and she swatted my hand out of the way and told me not to touch. This is my body, you do not treat me like an animal. My primary requested I go to the ED for IV medication for my infection and they refused treatment. I will never go back to this hospital or refer anyone to such a disrespectful and negligent place. They have a handful of great and compassionate nurses and a handful of terrible, careless and rude nurses and doctors. They were sitting around laughing and chatting while I waited one hour in a room throwing up in a basin praying for nausea medication only to be denied and told I was fine. I would not trust anyone's life in their hands. If higher ups knew how awful some of the nurses and doctors were towards patients they would be shocked. Regardless of your phd, you cannot tell a patient they do not feel how they are saying they feel. So incredibly disappointed with this facility.

I had a baby in Dec. Some random guy (not even on staff) just walked into my room while I was in labor, but when my friends daughter who is 13 wanted to come in after everything the next day they said she couldn't even though she had the night before.
Then when one of my husband's friends came in WITH my husband and the one woman came in and said that some random guy and my bf wanted to come see me. Ummm my husband and his friend? Like wow rude and racist lady. The women at the desk are just rude. Then when I tried to see a friend they wouldn't let me bc I had my daughter. Like what do u want me to do leave her by herself in the lobby? The women are all rude at the front desk.
I have to say I had a couple really awesome nurses though. They did a good job and were very helpful unlike the women at the desk.response / report this review -

Check in was simple, I didn't have to wait long and the MRI techs were very friendly. And the IV they gave was virtually painless (and I hate needles!). The only complaint I have, and it's a minor one, is how far I had to walk from the parking lot to the imaging area, but hopefully this will be improved by the current construction project.

I had surgery on January 16 and stayed over one night. The staff was wonderful and very caring. I was surprised to have telephone and television available to all. The meals were very good too. Thank you for listening to my issues and making me comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hospital to others.
