Do not recommend this hospital. Absolutely no communication between patient..Dr..family or Nurses. Some nurses are very good..caring and understanding, others are just rude. Food is also horrible. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
Up date with this hospital. Brought my father back to ER 2 months after 1st review. They would not give us any info on him and wouldn't let my mom see him. They have been married for 67 yr. Told us we could see him once he was admitted and taken to 4th floor. Once he was up there we were told we still couldn't see him and to come back tomorrow. Nurses couldn't give us any info on his condition. Mom who is in wheelchair and was given a hard time about someone bringing her up to see him. Skip to discharge daywouldn't allow my mom up to bring him his clothes. Hospital doesn't care about elderly people who are terminally ill or the feeling of patients family. Never in my life have I seen a hospital this bad. If you value your life DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL.
Amazing staff at Putnam Valley Hospital. Everyone was very attentive. I am looking forward to another injury just so I can go there and be pampered like someone getting a pedicure.
Our dad was brought to Putnam Hospital Center Emergency Room exactly one week ago, last Wednesday, October 7, 2020. He suffers from Parkinson's disease and had aspirated and was in sepsis. The doctors providing emergency care and those in the ICU where he was moved the following morning, were excellent. Dad's condition deteriorated quickly and it was recommended that he be moved to hospice care on the 4th floor North of the building. That's when my dad's condition and the level of service deteriorated exponentially. We were told by the ICU that my dad had only days to live, at best, and that we would be allowed to see him round the clock until he passed. The assurances were then attributed to misinformation by the 4 North staff, and my family - including his distraught wife of 60 years, my mom - were treated to rude comments about our visits and the time we spent with our dad. Security staff routinely made comments about my family as if the hospital had never experienced an end stage patient before. The nursing staff was equally rude - at one point forcing us from the room only to allow me to return to be with my dad after my repeated calls for some empathy. We are disappointed in the care and heartbroken that a medical facility would be so brazenly intent on exasperating an already highly emotional time for our family. I have filed an official complaint with patient relations, and I have spoken to the nurse supervisor on hand for dad's ward. We will consider further action once we can lay our dad to rest. Our one priority right now is our dad in transition.
Used to be a great hospital, but now I cant even go in with my family member if they cant speak for themselves. And on top of that, the drs are very condescending and look at patients as if they are faking because they have no one there to advocate for them. They may have upgraded the building but the staff isna complete downgrade
Went in to see Dr. Schloss for visual snow, floaters, and other concerning eye problems. He assured me that everything was fine physically with my eyes, and explained to me that my anxiety and intense obsession was causing the issues to be so prevalent. He provided useful anecdotes to ease my mind. Dr. Schloss was very inquisitive about, and attentive to my dilemma.
During my 90 minute ride home, I realized that for nearly the entire duration of the journey, I did not experience these visual phenomena. It was quite remarkable to see how accurate he was about the root of my problem. If you're experiencing something similar, you should absolutely give his office a visit.
I much appreciate your care and concern, doctor!
