Buffalo General has to be the worst hospital experience I have ever had. The level of unprofessionalism that I experienced yesterday was unbelieveable. I have been there 2 times in the past week for excruciating abdominal pain every time I eat or lay down. I have started puking and having intense pressure and pain in my abdomen. A PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT tried telling me my bloodwork came back fine when they had never drawn blood or even put an iv trap in. they set me up with a pulse monitor and blood pressure cuff but never hooked it up to the monitor, so for hrs no blood pressure or pulse was taken. They refused a CT scan when i’ve had abdominal problems that have only shown up on one in the past. I was then yelled at by the ultra sound
person because she saw I was there a couple days before and asked why i came back. Never given a blanket the whole time I was there and the nurse drawing my blood left the tube hanging from my iv trap while it was filling and hurt my arm. If you want to be abused Buff General is the place to go. I wish there was a zero star option. Now headed to Sisters with a CT scan order from my primary.response / report this review -

The place to go if you want to be robbed in your bed after a 10 hour spine surgery. This happened awhile back but I still have to live with everyday.

Today I'm on the 16th floor at Buffalo General, recovering from a knee replacement. I must say the professionalism that this crew of Rn's and there assistants have made my experience one that I have never had. Previous. They have made my first 14 hrs a true pleasure, for what may have otherwise been a true downer. It's become obvious to me that they take pride in there work and care about each other as well as there patients. So hats off to Teresa, Natalie,, Rachel and Bev. And all the assistants. Not to mention my surgeon Dr Santilli. I wouldn't let any other surgeon do the things to my body that he has.

I had surgery and was put on the 15th floor in room 10. I can't stress how happy I was with everyone I came in contact with. My nurses Amy, Christina and another wonderful lady who worked the 3-11 shift. The only reason I can't remember her name is i was so out of it on pain meds but she was wonderful also. Veronica the head nurse in charge of discharge was wonderful.From top to bottom Buffalo General specifically the Bariatric Center was a perfect wonderful experience. The compassion and caring everybody used in taking care of me was life changing and they all are God's angels . Truly wonderful people

I strongly recommend Buffalo General, Children's Hospital, Kaleida Health to my family and friends who are seeking the best hospital in Buffalo, and the best place for healthcare in Western New York. My recommendation is based on my working at Buffalo General for 30+ years, not to mention being a customer a time or two. I know that it's a busy place, but, if you have the need, for the best medical care in Buffalo NY and WNY the Buffalo General Hospital, the new Oishei Children's Hospital, the Gates Vascular Institute (GVI), Kaleida Health are the places to get the best heatlthcare - emergency, outpatient, medical, surgical, stroke care, cardiac, orthopedic, spine, OB/GYN, inpatient, gastroenterology, bariatric, renal, infectious disease, neurosurgery, TAVR, interventional radiology, oncology, neurology. Tell them I sent you.

I have had three admissions to buffalo genersl a year ago for a bowel obstruction. In january of 2017 i had to have lysis of adhesions and in july for s skin graft to my abdomen. I have to say tbe nurses and aides were very good. They answered the call light .promptly I didnt have to wait for pain medication when it was due they came in with it. I know how busy it can get when the nurses were short.even as a nurse i understood that it can be chaotic. Dr Butsch did the surgery in january and took care of me in September 2016. Because of a complication after surgery. As an outpatient i saw him weekly to clean out the wound and to check progress. After 4 months he referred me dr r schultz who took care of the wound which resulted as a skin graft to close the wound. Both doctors were excellent in the care i received. I thank them both for the care and dedication to getting this wound closed . The only complaint that i had is the
food is too salty. But a plain cheesburger was good. I thank everyone that was part of my care i truly appreciate it. I eas on tbe 15 th floor. In 1502 twice and 1515.the nurse and staff on this floor works very hard. Again i thank you for everything. Thanks!!!!@response / report this review -

Horrible experience from the time I entered the front door. Everything from rude employees, misinformation, and horribly redundant paperwork. Canceled proceedure and went over to Catholic Health system with a completely different positive experience. Will do everything possible to avoid Buffalo General Hospital in the future.

The nurses did med error on my mom heparin drip that cause her to have a critical lab results of greater then 200. The nurses left her heparin drip off all night it was 30 which is below normal. The range is between 60 and 110 so what Buffalo General nurses on 13 north did was to boost her heparin drip from 9ml/hr. to 19ml/hr. to make up for their mistakes. DO NOT GO TO BGH.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at BGH. From the ER to the staff when I was admitted, everyone was excellent. The ER staff was extremely efficient- I didn't have to wait very long to see a doctor. The nurses & assistants treated me with respect, compassion & professionalism. Kudos to everyone at BGH! & 😊 thank you

This hospital isn't bad at all. They have a lot of staff and dairly clean rooms. They also have a really decent cafeteria. Great views from the top too.

By far the worst expierence I've ever had in my life. Waited longer then 6 hours to be put into a room. Then from there I had to wait another hour and a half for not even a doctor. And I'm now leaving over 8 hours later waiting for paper work to be done and yet still don't have the slightest clue what is wrong with me. NEVER will I ever return.
I wanted at least 3 homeless people get kicked out and arrested.
The staff was rude when I was nice to them the entire time even after their attitude towards me when I asked for a blanket.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE!response / report this review -

I rated this at one star because there was nothing less than that.. this place is disgusting, the staff is sub par, rooms seem far out dated, the wait was exceptionally long. I could have played and finished a game of monopoly before anyone came. Not to mention while I waited I watched two people get arrested. If you have a serious injury or any health concerns and want to ensure everything's okay in a timely manner don't come here.

Sat in ER waiting room on tuesday Dec 27 for 4 hrs now still waiting in a room for another 4 hrs. Nurse is Gregory is rude and doesn't know how to work the St Jude heart machine to read my mother's pacmaker when clearly the directions are on the front and when he was told by myself he said no something is wrong with it. He took my mother's blood and through the tubs on counter and never came back for them. He finally just came in to give my mother a pain pill but never said what it was for. I had to ask him and rudely said pain and walked out. Still waiting on Dr to come in. Staff sitting at Green desk just talking to each other and laughing. My mother's room is dirty, the floors are black like never cleaned. The tray,paper towel holder counter and cupboard doors are all covered in white film. There's a open safety pin on the glove boxes in room #19.

Very unprofessional staff, doctors mostly the doctors look down on you and will actually laugh in your face. Dr. Wolfe of Neuro is the worst. No bedside manner whatsoever. I've never had someone make me feel more insignificant. I could have slapped that little smirk off of his face. I would rather die than come back here. This is a teaching hospital. They need to teach these Dr.s some bedside manners.
