Emergency Service is 1,000 times faster in Nepal’s worst government hospital then this Elmhurst Hospital.

Compare one of the poorest country Nepal 🇳🇵and super power USA 🇺🇸.

And the service worst. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

I had my brother with hip joint pain when he woke up, cant walk, went emergency department, waited for 4 hr, got checked, took medicine and rest. But after 12 days the condition is still same. I called the emergency department. A lady in a cold voice asked to revisit. After almost 5 hr we are returning without seeing doctor. Never go there.

Waste of time. Psychologically 😖 tortured 😖.

Worst Emergency Room/Hospital visit I've ever endured. I'm from Connecticut and was visiting on business. I was djing at a club and was positive that someone had put something in my drink. When I got back to my hotel I was violently ill and started having a panic attack thinking I was going to die. Was taken by ambulance to this hospital. It took hours for them just to take a urine sample and never even checked for any substances in my system. All they did was a pregnancy test and an ekg. Sat in a crowded, filthy emergency room for 5+ hours before they even gave me something for my nausea. I could have been dosed with something awful and died on the bed and no one would have even noticed. I'm not even sure how this place hasn't been shut down by the health department. The bathrooms were filthy, there was garbage all over the floors. At one point I came back from the bathroom to find my stretcher filled with empty needle packages from one of the nurses who had just given an iv to the woman next to me.
I was never given fluids, or something to help ease my panic attack, or any blood tests. I have no idea how much that visit will cost me but it was pointless and I would have been better off just staying in my hotel and hoping for the best.
I suggest to anyone to STEER CLEAR of this place if you need real emergency care or a staff that actually cares about your well being. And to the health department, shame on you for keeping this place open. I just read all the other reviews and it's apparent that cleanliness and sanitation have never been present at this hospital.

They call themselves a "baby friendly" hospital, Is not true. This hospital is very low class hospital. Me and my daughter come hospital emergency room by ambulance . We still wait 4 hours. Doctor no call yet. I don’t know what time call my daughter name. I think more 2/3 hours wait. It’s not good. Why people come emergency room. The staff isn't friendly either. If you can get a proper appointment in another hospital, I recommend going elsewhere.

After I broke both broke bone of my forearm ambulance took me into this hospital. In emergency section I had to wait 5 hours without any pain killer. I was lucky that I had not any internal bleeding in that case I'd die in that hospital. After 5 hours later doctor came and took me to trauma center. I've never see that any hospital took patient to trauma center 5 hours later who broke both bone hanging. It was a horrible experience.

Even after that new horrible journey begins. For paying bill there is no online section even you cannot pay bill through phone. And about the customer service, if you call them you will always end up voice mail to any department.

This is a terrible hospital, the time waiting is almost whole day, and the people there are mean, they like to talk about you at your back or said something not respect. The worker here only talking not working, they are wasting money, this hospital should change the well training worker, hire nice customer service and worker.

Emergency staff is very rude and not friendly at all. I would say somehow discriminatory. I walked in to the ER with chest pain and was told to sit down and wait to be called. Another patient who is different race walked in with same problem and was taken to the triage room immediately. If any city officials read these reviews, they have to work on a new structure. I walked in with chest pain, breathing problems and strong cough and was told to wait. Its been 35 mins and im here waiting.

They call themselves a "baby friendly" hospital, but they aren't mom friendly. For your initial visit, you wait 3 to 4 hours in their new, but understaffed, women's building where there is no child play center or drinks. That was good planning for a maternity section! The staff isn't friendly either. If you can get a proper appointment in another hospital, I recommend going elsewhere.

The staff of the ED were kind and effective when it came to stabilizing me, as well as thorough when it came to the overall treatment plan. Furthermore, they were helpful about communicating status with my wife who was far away at the time.

However, they did. It clean and thoroughly bandage my wounds, and the shift changed near the end of my time there and I was eventually sent away with no instructions on how to are for my extensive abrasions.

After several days of intense pain and experimentation, I was able to find a great article on line about how to treat bad abrasions.

I wish the staff of the ED would have at least given me a resource like that one to work with.

First time I went the staff was really nice and everything went rather quickly, the second time was a completely different story, it took 2 hours to get medical attention for my dad. They told me they would transfer him to a room since he had to stay the night. That never happened and I ended up sleeping in a very uncomfortable chair in the waiting area.

Nurses have attitudes. Doctors lounge around. Waiting time for the simplest things is ridiculous. I waited 3 hours just for a doctor to be assigned to me. I HAVE CHEST PAIN AND I WAS HERE FOR ANOTHER ISSUE YESTERDAY.

Worst Nurses and Administative Workers Ever! I have had better service in Jersey than here at this hospital where I was sadly born. The staff worked at my High School in Queens. They are lazy and incompetent.The social worker that used to work at my HS who later retired after making my moms life a living hell came from Elmhurst. Go to Flushing Hospital do not go here! The staff can not be trusted. All they do is like to gossip and get involved in what does not pertain to them.

The worst hospital I have ever been to. The wait times to see anyone for the simplest of things is way too long. The staff are unbelievably rude and adversarial.

I can say that the doctors seem to be ok. However, the experience to get you to that point of seeing one is terrible. You might as well go somewhere else.

They really should shut this place down. Other hospitals that I have been too have been a pleasure compared to this God awful place. Do yourself a favor and run far away from here.

The doctors are pretty great but that's because most of them are doctors from Mount Sinai volunteering for extra shifts at this over priced clinic. Because that's what it is. It isn't a real hospital. It looks like and ran like a broke inner city clinic. The nurses are terrible and everybody who isn't a doctor there talk to you with an attitude. And apparently their nurses are not certified to do certain things, which is scary. I was told by 2 doctors that their nurses weren't certified to handle my husband's pump. It was a simple pump that even I was trained in 5min to use. They gave my husband expired medicine. And it was his heart medication that keeps him alive. Thank god i caught it. Everyone was walking around taking notes on paper. And when i say Everyone i mean doctors, nurses, social workers..Everyone. Apparently they don't even have the money to print out forms and charts? His nurses literally came to his bed side writing his medical information down on scraps of paper. This hospital is horrible and needs to be shut down. It shouldn't even be allowed to operate as a hospital. Because it isn't.

Stay away from this hospital if you can. We waited 6 hours to see a doctor, no one really cares about you here. It's just another day, another job for them, no sense of urgency or willingness to provide "care" like a decent hospital should. Unless it's life threatening, you will be better off drive an additional 10-15 minutes to a different hospital in Queens or Long Island.
