They dont care about the patients the care only about the money that they can make from the person whos is asking for help. My father is being waiting for a amergency asistens a round 30 hour. 26 hours stright we out food, water and suerum. And still waiting for an EMERGENCY

Went to the Er on 8/16. Waited 4-1/2 hours in dire straights and was never seen. Finally left out of frustration and could not stand to wait anymore. I checked out and was never seen by a doctor or anyone and they had the nerve to bill my insurance over 1K plus a $200 co-pay for doing absolutely nothing! What a scam. Not only will they NEVER get my Co-pay, but I will open a fraud complaint with my insurance Complaint against this hospital. if Zero * was an option, I'd choose that.

Check Yelp-I have posted there my review which amounts to "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here". I do not even like driving by this hellhole.

They killed my mother in 2010 after her successful hip operation-she caught every infection they had to offer. The day she died they wouldn't let me in to pick up her things, said I had to wait for shift change. I sat in my car alone until when I did go in her things were missing. Security then told me that shouldn't have happened. Really???

In previous years both my parents & myself had terrible experiences at this "hospital". As I said, covered at Yelp.

I have a note on my refrigerator to NOT take me to So. Nassau if anything should happen.☠ Disgusting place, shpuld be closdd down. Especially the ER!!

This hospital was beyond terrible. I've never experienced anything so bad in my life. All the nurses are nice but extremely lazy. It takes them 5 minutes minimum 10 minutes maximum just to respond to a patient pressing the button for a nurse. Sometimes they just click over to you to act as if they're going to talk to you and then they just hang it up so that the beeping can stop. Then when they actually do come in half of them have attitudes as if this is not what they're paid to be doing. On top of this I was released today and was told they had called in my pain medication and other medications I'd need after surgery so all I'd have to do is pick it up WRONG! They never even sent the prescriptions to my pharmacy and then when I'd called to see what happened they had the nerve to ask if I gave them the correct pharmacy yes I gave you the correct pharmacy it's printed on every page where it says pharmacy. So now I have to wait extra time to get pain medication and other medications which should have already been ready had they not have lied and sent it in. This is a disgusting excuse for a hospital and I don't see how they're still open. I wish I could give them zero stars cause that's the only rating they deserve even a one is too high for this junkyard.

Very clean, Very caring people, They do their job well And very informative. For our first time, they have delivered our baby and we are currently having a great time. Food services opens from 8:30 am - 8 pm. That is including inside services and out of the hospital services. However the food we ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fresh and delicious. The staff are very polite and comforting. The staff taught us how to swattle, how to understand when our child is wanting to eat and how to feed him under his mothers arms. I like it here a lot. I recommend anyone to come here. 06/02/2017 we were here and our son was born.

We recently had an unusual situation, wherein my mother-in-law was discharged and brought home by ambulette from a different area hospital last week- wrapped in a sheet and hospital gown, clothes thrown in a bag, with purple feet and difficulty breathing. Within 5 hours she was brought by ambulance to South Nassau, where she remains a patient. She has been in the ICU, and is being transferred to a telemetry floor tonight.
The care given at the ICU was exemplary. My mother-in-law was on a ventilator and feeding tube, as well as saline and medication to reduce agitation. The nurses in the unit were awesome- so attentive and competent, so kind and compassionate, so responsive to our many questions. I don't think we could have asked for better care.
Sincere thanks to the nurses at this hospital! We truly feel that she would have died had she remained any longer at the other hospital- no mercy - and that the medical staff at South Nassau brought her back from the brink. We will be eternally grateful for that.

DON'T go there if you will have even the remotest need of physical therapy when you get out!! My mother was in for 1 month battling pneumonia. For the last 2 weeks I've made it known to the social workers that I wanted my mother to go to the in house Transitional Care Unit. When the discharge day arrived the social workers informed me that the Therapy Unit would NOT accept her. When I arrived at the hospital, I went to the Therapy Unit to question why they would NOT accept my mother. Their 1st response to question was that because my mother has BCBS HMO, they would be restrained to the parameters of the insurance company. BCBS would only approve a few days at a time and they would have to keep writing progress reports and requesting more days. When I responded that in December 2016 my mother needed rehab after a hospital stay, BCBS approved 20 days from the beginning, the therapists had a different excuse. The 2nd excuse was that my mother needed a lot of therapy and when her time was up, if she needed more therapy, BCBS wouldn't approve anymore time at a different facility. So in conclusion the Transitional Care Unit at South Nassau Community Hospital won't accept a patient if there is a possibility of to much paperwork. I had assumed that physical therapists would want to help a patient regain their strength and walk again, but I was incorrect.

Honestly, I would give zero stars if it were allowed. Worst experience I've had with a hospital. Had to prepay for a procedure and then waited over four months for my reimbursement. What is the point in having health Insurance if you're going to operate a hospital in this fashion. Ridiculous. The billing department is an atrocity and have no idea what they are doing in there. When I asked to speak to the billing supervisor, I was given the runaround and the guy on the phone wouldn't give me the billing supervisor's name. Shady as hell. It was only after having to get my insurance provider involved twice that they finally sent me my reimbursement check. $1,000 isn't chump change. I'm not a rich person in any way. On top of that, they didn't give me back the correct amount. No person should have to go through this BS when they are supposed to be taking care of their patients. Get your $hit together. If this is going to be the normal practice of making everyone pre-pay before they go in to a hospital, we are all screwed.

I have been here with my friend and her daughter for 5 hours,(not exaggerating). It took like two hours to get in to ER and now am in the room waiting for 3 hours and no one has come to check or anything. I went to ask at what time is the doctor gonna see my friends daughter, and they said there are three people ahead of us waiting. Like really not happy at all!!.
