Very clean room, and for a dog-friendly room you cannot beat the price! Stayed in a single queen room with my large dog for one night and it was perfect. Simple, easy, clean stay. Bring your own shampoo, as it is not provided.

Great room, pet loves the grounds. Front desk is best in the business!! All the staff is friendly and busy keeping the property well maintained. Keep up the great work. We will stay there again.

Friendly staff, quick check in, quiet and clean. Aside from the smell of pesticides I can’t complain (at least I know they are taking precautions) especially for the price. Just an FYI there was no blow dryer in the room in case you need one, of course this was the first time I forgot to bring my own 😩

I went in to book an over-the-night stay and had what I would rate as the best service I have had in years. The individual at the counter was readily available to answer all my questions, was calm and collective, and left it off with a very welcoming thank you. The lady at the counter made sure to take the time to give me an in depth description of the room to which I would be staying, the items available to me, the services available, and more importantly made sure to greet each and every individual with kind words and a welcoming smile. If I needed new towels, cleaning supplies, and even some late night coffee to settle in and focus on my work, it was either readily available or shortly on its way. I truly felt like royalty, would not have any better way to describe the initiative of these individuals. May have forgotten the names of most being I was quite preoccupied, but I do remember one in particular. Amanda I do thank you very much for your time and being so patient and kind with I and the many other guests. I am sure you have treated a great plenty of others the same through such determination in making our experience a joyful one.

Great and easy to find location, room was clean and well kept. Bed was comfortable and a very quiet location. Only thing missing was a coffee machine. For the price of the room it is a great value. Weekly rates aren't bad at all. One block to beach is Awesome. I stay here two weeks per month on business and truly enjoy my stay here at Motel 6 Carlsbad CA . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We used to travel and stay here over the years. Often requesting and getting the same room each year. So when we decided to stay here after going to Sea World, you were the natural choice for us. After our visit this weekend WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!
1. The room location was a hike with a little one. When I asked if there was a room closer, she just replied, "No, this is all we have."
2. Modern Rooms??? Not sure what that means Tan, Orange and Yellow???
3. Didn't sleep a wink due to the loud A/C unit. Not sure how often the vents are cleaned either???
4. The next morning I stopped into the main office and asked for comp. toothpaste. I was quickly told you don't have that.
5. Asked if I could have a tissue to wipe my grand-daughter's nose. She replied, I don't have any tissues. Do you have a paper towel? She said, I have some rags.
Very, very disappointing, because of the fond memories I have from the past.

This particular Motel 6 has been renovated to the new style. It is clean and convenient. The grounds are nice. Bonus: no drug dealers in the parking lot like you will find at many other Motel 6s. The front desk staff are not so helpful; however. Reservations are recommended. Don't bother requesting a room type with your reservation - the staff doesn't take requests with reservations and pays no attention to them.

I have been staying at this location on all my visits to California since 2010. This has been the most pleasant due to the efforts of two individuals who went the extra mile.
1) Art Haddock - the manager is a total professional. He is very easy to talk to and is extremely customer focused. I appreciated his efforts to make my stay pleasant and problem free.
2) Vanessa (sorry - cannot recall last name) at the front desk is a very energetic and caring individual. She is also very approachable and is customer oriented. She has the potential to take on a management role since she is a self starter and anticipates customer needs and knows how to handle tricky situations. She is also very patient.

My only request to the management of Motel 6 is to offer weekly rates for regular customers who book long stays at this location, such as two weeks or more. That would be helpful to your loyal customers since you do not have a loyalty program.

The Wife and I visit this area regularly and only wished we had found this spot first. Very clean and the staff is always cheerful and relaxed. Pool is clean and relaxing. Friendly chats with staff makes it an extremely comfortable place plus for being next to the highway its beyond quiet.at least i think so.

Liked the location and everything close by was great. Had issues with our key and the maintenance man was great getting to our room to fix. Just have not stayed at a Motel 6 in a long time. No refrigerators in the room, and no bathroom while you wait for your room to be cleaned. Well traveling with kids or at least kid friendly place a lobby bathroom would of been nice. And I understand it was a holiday weekend but what you pay for little room and no real amenities does not make it worth it.

Since this is a lower priced motel there are many families with young, noisy kids running around until evening and up very early in the morning. Lack of parenting. Kids need their parents to teach them that other people in the motel may still be sleeping at 7 am since they're on vacation. Parents would yell directives to kids through their doors which they left open. The pool was full of noisy kids. The motel does shut the pool down at 9pm so the kids went inside and the place quiets down until they're up early. Since it's a dog friendly place there were barking dogs and a grassy area next to the pool where the dogs do their business. I had a nonsmoking room but there were men smoking outside my room and others. The queen bed was one mattress. Not comfortable. Was clean enough but had to wear socks on the laminate floor because it made our feet dirty, AC was a plus. It cooled the room well. TV was okay. Ice machine and vending machines available.Curtains in my room were broken and not attached properly so light shined through at night and morning. Also light came in around the door. No coffee maker but I always bring my own. Beach is not within walking distance. We had to drive everywhere. I guess I expected a little more sleep for $200 a night. We will not be returning.

I was SO pleased with our stay at Motel 6 Carlsbad South. We had stayed at a Casino Resort the night before and I was worried that the accommodations would be similarly disgusting.

When we arrived, the room was half the size but 10X cleaner. We were floored. Obviously a budget choice with small rooms -- but we felt safe, comfortable, and the accommodations were clean. We were so grateful to have booked the following 3 nights there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The rooms were small, but the IKEA-style furnishings for the size room made it feel modern and fun. We were grateful for the great cleaning service. We loved our stay and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Thank you, Thank you, Motel 6 for a great renewing our faith in a great budget stay.

Recently renovated furnishings inside rooms were a distinct improvement to this older construction building. Quite a good location, just a few blocks from South Carlsbad state beach and within walking distance of grocery stores, gas, and restaurants. Pool was clean and inviting. Rooms are small and amenities limited but what really made our stay exceptional was Vanessa at the front desk. She let us check in early, accommodated a room change request due to extenuated circumstances, and overall provided friendly, helpful service. Made all the difference between a mediocre visit and a pleasant one. Got a decent night's sleep and the kiddos enjoyed themselves.

I was very pleased with the Motel 6 in Carlsbad. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The AC was noisy, so we left it off most of the time. We were only there at night and left early in the morning, so I did not mention it to the office. The outside appearance of the motel was good, but the sidewalks and walkways need a cleaning. I greatly enjoyed the the location and the price.

First of all I would like to commend all your office staff on their professional attention to detail and outstanding customer service. I wish I could stay at this location everyday I am in the US. I especially want to mention one member of your office staff in particular, Ms. Yesenia. This young lady is the perfect example of how an outstanding customer service Representstive should be. I have many many years dealing with numerous hotels and motels within the US and especially in California and it is my pleasure to commend Ms Yesenia on standing out as the very best Customer Service Representative I have dealt with so far. If every business had employees like Ms Yesenia, there would never be any customer complaints. Outstanding job Ms Yesenia.

I would like to add that Emily the Manager runs a tight ship but you can see the respect and admiration her staff has toward her obviously because she is a skilled talented experienced Manager who is capable of setting the example of a high degree of customer service and guides her staff to achieve it.
